Intruder

Marni tried to find anywhere to hide from Jeongguk's prying hands. She sprinted through the hall, hearing the sound of Jeongguk's chuckle, echoing.

"Noona, why do you run? When I'm always one step ahead?"

Marni slipped into the kitchen, and jumped into the cupboard. She slowly tried to shut the door behind me, my fingers jamming between the door before it could fully close.

The doctor could hear his feet shuffling against the flooring of the apartment, and snickers coming from his lips.

Marni reared back as far as she could, her backside hitting some food off of the cabinet. Marni swallowed down her embarrassment, and listened.

Listened into the sound of Jeongguk's bare feet slipping against the floor, but between her breathing, she could not hear well enough.

She covered her mouth, trying to labor her breathing as she peaked through the light in the door. With that little view, she could see Jeongguk walking through he kitchen.

A sadistic smile on his face.

There was a fire inside of him, that pushed him far into the belief that the people he loved were his, and that if anyone touched what was his, they would die.

There were so many things twisted between his personality. The way he enjoyed playing these manipulating games was in a way, was interesting. But could Marni trust him with her life?

"I know I'm crazy, but the games are so fun," He skimmed his fingers over the kitchen counter. "My body wants you badly, Noona, and you denying that you want me, is driving me crazy."

Marni grasped her hands tighter around her mouth. Breathing in small gasps of air. She could see Jeongguk smirk, and look up and towards her direction.

She blanched, when his smile grew, and his eyes glimmered with the intoxicating look of lust and craving.

"Noona, you pretend you don't want me, but your body gives it all away," He pried towards the cupboard doors, and I held my breath.

His fingers tapped against the walls, the glasses and the doors cupboard, his fingers making an unsettling rhythm.

"Just imagine how great you'd feel, I'll cherish you, hold you tight and make you feel things you've never felt before," he breathed.

As he moved to pry open the door, the alarm to the door went off. Marni blanched once again, utterly confused as to why someone was at her home.

Jeongguk peeled the door open, but his smile was not as sinister as before. He was serious, his face not as playful.

"You called the cops, didn't you?"

"No," Marni barked. "I promised you, Jeongguk. I don't break my promises and you know that. Now hide," Marni hushed, "in my bedroom,"

He listened, for once. Marni watched as he turned his back, and over his shoulder, his eyes narrowed in annoyance. In distaste that his game had to stop.

Marni shuffled through the kitchen, ignoring the mentally insane roomie down the hall, glaring at her with lethal eyes.

She peeled open the front door, her eye peaking through the little opening. Her heart beat exploding inside of her chest.

It was the same police from last week. The same man that had spoken and cared for her safety. Once again, there was a soft smile on his face, which made her heart beat, less erratic.

"Hi-"

"Can I please come in? I have urgent news." The police man explained. Marni was still unaware of his name, but reluctantly opened the door, and walked him into the lounge.

She was skittish, the police man could probably tell. She held herself too formal, as though she wasn't comfortable in her own home.

She turned and motioned for the officer to sit, "would you like some tea? Coffee?"

There was a sly smile on his face, and Marni raised her eyebrow, cocking her head in question.

"I don't want a drink, Marni."

Marni never remembered telling this officer her first name, only the name she went by professionally.

She looked at him with pure confusion. "If your going to stay I'm totally fine with making you somethi—"

In a split second, the officer pulled something metallic from his Police official Tactical Belt. Something that clicked, and echoed.

Marni went to speak, but the words were lodged into her throat when she realised what was in his callous hands.

A gun.

"WOW-"

He leapt forwards, grabbing Marni by the throat before she could even utter anything louder. He squeezed her windpipe between the inside of his elbow, before moving his plumped lips to her ear.

"Stay quiet, and you won't be hurt," he whispered, his voice deep and demanding.

Marni would have classed him as attractive if he hadn't of pulled that gun on her. The barrel sat at her bowel, the sweater she wore being the wall between it hitting her bare skin.

"Where is he?" His voice gave Marni chills, but it was nothing compared to what Jeongguk could give her.

"Who? Also, I like your glass—"

"Shut up," He whispered, his voice harsh. Marni cut him off again though, she was horrified, but had learnt that distracting the attacker could be your only way of escape.

"They're very vintage—"

"Shut the fuck up,"

The male swerved the two around and towards the front door, where Marni watched as our men dressed in black stalked into the apartment.

"He's in here somewhere, get him and get out," The blond ordered, his grip tightening. Marni watched in horror as one of the men turned his face, in the light she could see the lively eyes of—

Kim Seokjin.

One of her used to be patients.

One of Jeongguk's friends.

Someone he had gushed about to her.

"Wait—"

"It's starting to make sense, isn't it Marni?" The male chuckled, his breath warm and ticklish against Marni's bare neck. His chest, vibrating against her back.

The men had disappeared down the hall. Silence, that was all she heard. It was making sense, these men were Jeongguk's friends, and they were taking him away.

Taking him away.

They were taking Jeongguk away.

From her.

Marni had no idea if Jeongguk would leave with them, she had no idea if he cared at all for her wellbeing. Maybe it was all a game. Some pathetic game Marni fell for.

"We've known little kookie since he was a kid, he's out now. We can take him from here, we don't need some ratty whore all over him when he's vulnera—"

"Does he know about this?" Marni wheezed, and repeatEd the same sentence, but with more aggression as the male snickered. She didn't care that she was called a whore, she cared about Jeongguk more than her pathetic reputation.

"No, but I'm sure he'd be more than happy to leave with us," Marni could practically see the males smile. Even when he was behind her. "It looked like he really loved you, but you're toxic. You're making him more insane, when your job was to help him."

"I love him," she tried to say, her voice sobbed and cracked, her throat constricting from the strength of the male holding her tight.

"Love doesn't last, he'll find someone else to obsess over. Get over it."

Before she could watch Jeongguk leave with the group of men, faces partially covered in black, and bodies too; she was out cold, endless pain following.

- sometimes I don't even realise I've made a cliff hanger till y'all cry about it... and I OOP....

Thanks for the support guys, it really means a lot to know you are all enjoying the book. The books very twisted and I'm shoot that you guys aren't judging the characters behaviours. It may be a little confusing, I'll have to reread the story to see if it all makes sense.

Thanks for 5k !!!!😊
