Forty six

Jimin went back home with a sullen expression on his face. He rang the mansion bell and immediately, the gate opened, showing the haggard face of his Butler.

"Young master!" The old man cried but Jimin didn't say a word, he just walked past him making him worried. The Butler silently walked behind him.

"Young master Jimin, where have you been? You really shouldn't be here! There is a war going on and your parents...."

Jimin stopped and looked at him. The man looked deeply at him and stopped talking when he saw that look in his eyes. He understood that Jimin didn't want any company so he bowed his head.

"I understand young master"

Jimin turned back and silently entered the house ignoring the rubble and disaster, the bullet holes on the walls, the shattered glass windows, ruined art pieces and vases, he even ignored the workers trying to put the house back in other. They all wordlessly looked at him as he started to walk up the stairs when he froze on seeing his parents frames at the top.

"Park Jimin, what are you doing here?" his mother screeched running down the stairs to meet him. Her face was red with anger, his father slowly walking behind her. When she reached him, again she slapped him hard on the cheek just like she did the day she found out about his relationship with Taehyung but Jimin didn't react. He just looked back at her soullessly watching her breathe heavily.

"Look around you, have you seen what you caused? Because of your relationship with that Kim Taehyung boy, you have put all our lives in danger" She yelled glaring at him.

"From day one, we have been trying to defend this family from that sick psycho Kim Taejun but you had to make it worse by even marrying his son! Aren't you ashamed? Aren't you remorseful for what you've done?"

Again, Jimin said nothing and just started walking past them. Park hye sun growled.

"How dare you walk out on us? Can't you see your mother is still talking? You can't even apologize when all of this is your fault!"

All of this is your fault!

Those words kept ringing over and over in Jimin's brain making it pang harder, hitting the back of his skull. He exploded right there and sharply turned to his parents who flinched at his cold stare

"My fault? My fault? You both are to blame! You and Kim Taejun! Not me, not Taehyung!"

He scoffed running his hands over his hair tiredly as he continued.

"Jimin, How are you doing? Did you eat? Did you have a good rest? That's what normal parents who love their children say to them but you have never for once said these words to me. All you ever did was work me to the bones and control my entire existence but I'm sick and tired of it! I'm sick and tired of the both of you!"

The tears he had been trying to hold from the moment Taehyung left him till now rolled down his eyes and his parents watched him unable to say a word. His mother's resolve seemed weaker but his father remained stoic.

"Yes! I fell in love with Taehyung, the son of your worst enemy, yes we got married without telling you and yes I kidnapped him because I'd rather face hell with him than be in this fake paradise with you!"

They both gasped staring in disbelief at him.

"I've always tried my best to be a good son, to make you both proud. I have always done everything you asked me to but now I'm so done trying to please you. I'm done with everything because at the end, you've destroyed me, you've destroyed us with this senseless feud, this senseless fighting between yourselves!"

He wiped his tears sighing softly.

"You've gotten what you wanted. It's over between us now. Taehyung divorced me and now he's getting married to someone else and I might never get to see him again because of you!"

Jimin took a deep breath.

"I can't do anything but respect his wishes but you know what I can do, I'm going to go upstairs, pack my things and leave this house never to return"

His parents stiffened. Mrs Park widened her gaze

"What are you saying!" she screamed in a shaky voice.

"Exactly what you heard mother. I'm not a kid anymore and you can't control my life. I don't think I can live under the same roof as the two of you"

There was silence. No one said anything. Mrs Park was trying to control her tears, blinking them back repeatedly while Park hye sun frowned hard before speaking "Just know that if you leave, you leave with nothing and don't ever think of coming back here"

Jimin scoffed not in the least affected by the tone of his father's voice. If it were before, he would have been kneeling, rolling on the ground begging his parents to forgive him but now, he just didn't care. His heart was in too much pain to care about what they thought so he smiled grimly and continued his walk up the stairs. Immediately he entered into his room, he began throwing his useful things into a travel bag.

Taehyung couldn't have broken up with me just like that, something must have happened while I was away. I'm sure of it

He thought to himself.

He stopped his packing and took out the ring box from his pocket staring briefly at the one ring left in the box.

If this ring is any indication, he didn't divorce me willingly.

He thought again.

Yelling at his parents and finally getting everything out of his system had brought some sort of sanity back into his head. He could think carefully and right there, he knew something was fishy.

He packed all his necessary things and took out the cash he had stowed away in his room for emergency purposes. After keeping his cash and the ring box inside his bag, he started walking out of his room when he was blocked by his Butler.

"Don't leave young master. I'm sure your parents don't mean all the things they say or do. They love you" he pleaded in a soft breaking voice.

Jimin smiled bitterly. "They might but they are doing a poor job showing it"

He shook his head. "I just can't stay here anymore. The more I stay, the more I feel I can't breathe. I have to breathe Butler. I have to breathe"

He smiled fondly at the old man. "But I'm going to miss you Butler. You have been more of a parent to me than those two ever where and for that, I'll always be grateful"

The Butler held onto the front of his shirt. "I could go with you Jiminah"

Jimin shook his head slowly. "I don't think you can Butler. I won't be able to care for you in my current situation. You're getting on in age and you'll really need the money but right now, I really need to be left alone"

The Butler nodded understandably dropping his hand but ended up hugging him tightly.

"Take care of yourself young master, I'll miss you" he said.

Jimin sighed and quickly left with his bag. He saw his parents were standing at the foot of the stairs. His mother was clearly agitated as she walked up and down. As soon as she saw him with the bag she ran towards him.

"Jiminah, are you really leaving? You're not coming back?" she whispered, her lips trembling and Jimin stared at her. This was the first time he had ever seen his mother so weak but it was too late for her to show her motherly vulnerable side to him. He really was tired of her drama.

"Yes mother, I'm leaving and I'm not coming back" he said with all seriousness.

Mrs Park looked at her husband desperately. "Yeobo, he's serious!" she shouted.

"Then let him go. Let's see what he can do without us!" his father said non chalantly.

Jimin didn't retort back and walked past his mother holding his bag in a tight fist.

"Guards stop him!" Mrs Park screamed at the top of her voice and immediately, two heavily built guards ran and stood in his way. Jimin rolled his eyes impatiently.

"What are you doing Yumi? If he wants to go then let him!" Park hye sun yelled. Mrs Park said nothing sniffing silently as she lowered her head cowardly.

"Step aside!" Park hye sun shouted and the guards made way. Jimin didn't even look back as he walked out of the house and out of the mansion. Yumi looked at her husband.

"Are you just going to let him leave?"

"If that's what he wants"

Yumi shook her head "What? You know how difficult it was for me when our son was lost for three weeks but you wouldn't even let me shed a tear. I always had to pretend to be strong for you, for the sake of our company!"

"I've always followed you, doing whatever you wanted. It's not your fault that I neglected myself and neglected our son because even after all these years, I still had to struggle for your love, struggle for your acceptance"

Her husband didn't respond.

"You've changed so much over the years hye sun particularly after that accident. You are not the man I used to know"

Park hye sun glared at her, pain shining in his eyes "And what would you know about the man I used to be" He whispered."Don't you ever talk about the past again. It stays where it is...buried" he said in a shrill harsher tone.

Yumi shook her head again. "All these happened because of my love for you...Because of my love for you!"

She sank to the ground. "Everything is all my fault. It's all my fault!" she whispered. Park hye sun looked at her in confusion but he was too troubled to care. He dragged his feet upstairs leaving her to drown in her tears.

Yumi continued to cry, all her torments eating up at her at the same time, all the pain she had been hiding away for years pouring over her, down to her very soul. But she suddenly stopped when she felt something or someone looking down at her. She felt a crippling sensation all over her body so she looked up and stared, paralyzed by shock at the figure standing before her.

"It's you!" she whispered.
