Forty eight

Jimin took a heavy breath as he slumped on the couch. The woman standing in front of him had her hands on her waist staring at him in curiousity.

"Wasn't that Taehyung I saw just now? The Kim Taehyung?"

Jimin couldn't respond. He sat there looking dejected.

"That was the woman he's going to marry right?"

Jimin nodded. "That's right"

Hyuna took a deep breath sitting on the bed beside Jimin's couch.

"I'm really sorry. It must have hurt to see them" she said in a calm voice.

Jimin stood up straight and started pacing "I just don't want to talk about it Hyuna"

She nodded. "I see... "

There was silence in the room as Jimin went to wash his face in the bathroom. When he came out, he was drying his face with a towel.

"So...like he's getting married in three days Jimin. What are you going to do about it?"

Jimin ran his hands roughly over his head biting his lips nervously.

"I have no idea. When I saw him..."

He paused trying to hold back the tears.  "The only thing I wanted to do was to go to him. It felt like nothing happened. That we didn't get divorced...that we didn't break up. It was as if he had been waiting for me but then I saw her and the realization hit me. It was just so painful"

Hyuna just stared at him contemplating until a knock sounded on the door interrupting her thoughts. Jimin froze.

"Who could it be?" he whispered then went to the door and opened it. His friends bundled inside hurriedly including Jin and Hoseok and he looked at Hyuna wearing a look of betrayal on his face. She smiled innocently.

"I'm sorry Jimin but you need all the help you can get" she said. The boys mumbled small greetings to Hyuna, already looking tired and fed up but relieved to see Jimin again before they decided to interrogate him.

"What happened?" Namjoon yelled loudly and everyone stared at Jimin who was short of words.

"Two days after we arrived at Daegu, we heard the news about Taehyung getting married to Jisoo. We've been trying to reach you since then but you've been unavailable" Yoongi said frowning.

"I needed time alone!" Jimin answered.

Namjoon groaned "Bullshit! You're going to tell us what's going on between the two of you because getting in touch with Taehyung is harder than getting into the blue house!"

"What happened? You both where ready to start over again, run away what happened?" Jin asked looking worried.

Jimin chewed his bottom lip, unsure about how to begin. Even the memory of it made him dizzy. It had come as a shock and reliving the awful moment was too painful to bear but his friends where anxious to know what happened and he was going to have to tell them.

"So what happened was that we were ready to leave. I had gone to  Hyuna's place to get some things from Hani but when I came back, Taehyung was different. He was with the divorce paper. The next thing I knew, he was asking me to sign the paper, telling me he doesn't love me"

They all looked at each other in confusion.

"Just like that?" Hoseok asked.

Jimin nodded tiredly and continued. "I was confused, speechless. One moment, things had been great. I had gotten my Taehyung back only to loose him just as quick"

Namjoon looked serious, placing his hand on his chin thoughtfully.

"Something is definitely fishy here" he said.

"It's his father Kim Taejun. There's no other explanation for this!" Jin exclaimed loudly startling everyone but they still mumbled in agreement.

Yoongi spoke "Taehyung's father is the master of manipulation. I won't be surprised if he found Taehyung and made him back away from you...He's really evil"

Jimin shook his head. "No one was born to be evil. I wonder what must have triggered him to make him so emotionless"

Namjoon upturned his nose non chalantly "Who cares!" He whispered.

Jin scoffed. "But you all agree with me that he must have something to do with Taehyung divorcing you"

They all nodded.

"That's right!" Namjoon said.

Hoseok shook his head in pity "We can't even go near their house. It's surrounded by guards twenty four seven. Taehyung's phone isn't going through and Kim Taejun banned us from attending  the wedding. Even our families aren't spared from the brunt of Taejun Kim's anger"

Yoongi nodded slightly. "He's not willing to take any chances. He will do anything to make sure the wedding goes as planned without a hitch"

Jimin put his hand on his head. "I saw Taehyung today with Jisoo and I was reminded of how powerless I really am"

Namjoon shook his head. " You guys really need divine intervention!" he said with a grin.

"Speaking of divine intervention, has anyone seen Jungkook since that day?" Hoseok put in.

Hyuna who had been silently watching the conversation all these while puckered up. "Who's Jungkook?"

Namjoon shrugged. "Someone you wouldn't believe exists. So no need telling you about it now. It's story for another day"

Hyuna just kept quiet still confused.

Jimin answered Hoseok's question. "I haven't seen Jungkook since he disappeared that day"

"Disappeared?" Hyuna said loudly still looking shocked but no one said anything. What could they tell her? That their friend was an angel? Who would believe that? Definitely not Hyuna who only believed in things of the world, things she could see and touch.

"I'm tired, really tired. I've been trying to think of what to do but I've exhausted all my options" Jimin said sadly.

Hoseok patted his back. "You shouldn't give up Jiminah. Things are going to get better....hopefully"

Jin slapped his arm. "Stop being so negative!"

Hoseok groaned rubbing his arm "Yah, that hurts hyung"

They stayed, talking for a while until Hyuna was the first to announce her departure.

"I really should start going now. My mom, Hani and Mina must be waiting for me. I came straight from the airport to meet you Jimin instead of heading home first. They must really be worried"

Jimin smiled at his old friend. "Thank you Hyuna and send them my greetings especially to Mina"

Hyuna chuckled. "I will"

She sighed softly. "I hope you can get over this Jimin. I only want to see you happy but if this is too much for you to handle then just let him go. From what I know of Kim Taejun, he's ruthless and he'll stop at nothing to destroy anyone who tries to stand in his way"

Jimin tried to smile. "I can take care of myself"

"I know you can" She kissed his chin. "If you need me, just call. I'll always be there"

"Thanks Hyuna" he said sincerely.

"Bye guys!" Hyuna said turning to the other guys who waved her farewell as she left the room. His friends were next to leave.

"We'll keep you updated on the wedding Jimin" Namjoon said.

"No need Namjoon. I still have the internet" he said forcing himself to smile but it was difficult and they all saw it.

Yoongi surprisingly took his hand stroking it gently. Others looked on, curious about his sudden behavior

"I know we six have had a horrible past with each other but somehow, our fates got intertwined because of Jungkook and now, we have a bond between us"

He took a deep breath before continuing "Taehyung is my friend but now, you are my friend too and I'm going to be completely honest with you Jimin, as a friend"

There was an uneasy silence as they all quietly listened to the next words coming from Yoongi's mouth.

"I think you should just let it go. Don't fight anymore. If you and Taehyung are meant to be, it will happen eventually but if you end up fighting for something that isn't meant to be yours, you might end up loosing your life in the process"

Fear gripped everyone most especially Jimin.

"I'm saying this as the son of Korea's biggest gangster. I know what my family has done for Kim Taejun, I know what he's capable of, the amount of crimes they have had to cover up for him... That man is dangerous and for the sake of your life, lay low Jimin"

There was a gripping silence and Jimin's skin started to crawl with tension. Hoseok grabbed Yoongi's arm.

"Yah... Yoongi, you're creepy. How can you say something like that so bluntly" he said trying to lighten the atmosphere but the seed of fear was already there, planted into everyone's brain.

"Rest well Jimin, we'll talk to you on phone" Jin said awkwardly and they all left dragging Yoongi away as Hoseok's voice was heard scolding his boyfriend.

Jimin thought about what Yoongi and Hyuna said all night. It would be easy to just forget everything if he didn't love Taehyung but he did and knowing the harsh truth that he would never be with him again hurt like a bitch but the fear of Kim Taejun killing him hung in the air. His words started to sound like an anthem ringing constantly in his brain.

I hope this is the last time we meet because next time, you won't just be sorry, you will actually be dead

The wedding was slowly drawing closer with each passing day and it felt like a dream when the day was finally at hand. The night before the wedding, Jimin couldn't sleep at the small flat he had rented. He felt a strange foreboding and he took it as just being uneasy because of Taehyung's wedding. He thought that perhaps opening the window to let in some fresh air will do him a lot of good just like how it always seemed to calm Taehyung and make him sleep off in an instant but his blood pressure suddenly dropped and his heart beat faster when he noticed shadowy figures in the dark slowly approaching the house. He looked back at the clock. It was past one in the morning. A black tinted car was parked just across the bungalow and the men's behaviors where suspicious. He could smell the intent in the air. The intent to kill.

He backed off quickly. These where definitely Taejun's men sent to kill him. He recognized a few of them from the day he was kidnapped. He started to hyperventilate. Yoongi and Hyuna were right. Taehyung's father still saw him as a threat to the wedding despite already having his way. He wasn't ready to leave any stone unturned.

He ducked away from the window panicking as he crawled on the ground so that his silhoutte won't be noticed. He had to think quickly before the men entered and wasted him with bullets so he quietly left the room without making a single noise and tiptoed to the kitchen which had a back door that led to the woods. He opened the door without alerting any attention from the men who thankfully where all gathered at the front of the house. From the back, he could hear the front door screech open and that was enough to make him take off at lightening speed. Within seconds, his night ware was already torn from the bushes and small blood gushed from the wounds at the sole of his feet because he was bare footed but he kept running, tears blinding his vision. He stopped after getting tired and slumped on the muddy floor breathing heavily and sobbing. What was he to do? He had left all his possessions at the inn and now he was wounded and lost. He didn't know how to locate the main road anymore from where he was.

"Jimin?" A voice whispered behind him and his skin nearly jumped out from his body as he turned round in fright but his pressure slowed when he saw the angel kneeling down towards him.

"Jungkookah...Taejun's men.... They were going to kill me"

He was unable to say a full sentence without stuttering, his entire body shaking violently. Jungkook held him in his arms stroking his back gently.

"It's okay Jimin,  you're safe now. I'm going to take you away from here" He said.

Jimin looked up at him. "Where?"

Jungkook smiled at him painfully "Do you trust me Jiminah?"

The latter nodded. The angel took his hand and they disappeared.

I'm feeling so many emotions right now. This story might  be ending soon. I don't know. Anyway, thanks for reading. Luv you all!
