Fifty six

Jungkook looked around the city wearing a wide smile on his face. The night was still young and he was going to have a little fun, unwind a little bit after causing love to happen all over the place but the smile disappeared from his face when he felt a hand tug roughly at his arm. He took a deep breath before turning his face to look at Mark.

"What?"

"We have to go back home" Mark said.

Jungkook shrugged. "You are free!" he said non chalantly.

Mark heaved in frustration "Why are you always like this? So careless about everything. Do you realize the problem you caused today? You made a woman fall in love with her brother in law"

Jungkook shrugged again. "So? He was better for her. Besides, her husband was a total jerk"

Mark sighed "But it wasn't part of the protocol"

Jungkook shook his head standing arms akimbo. "Why must you always follow protocol? It's boring and slow. I make things faster"

Mark frowned "Yeah, by pairing up unlikely people...Besides, protocol stops us from making mistakes. We should take our jobs seriously because it's important. You can't just do anything you want"

He shook his head tiredly "You know what, I can't do this with you anymore. Come back or not. It's up to you but know this one day, you are going to get your reward"

Jungkook rolled his eyes "Yeah, whatever. Bye Bye!"

Mark hissed "You are so annoying..." he whispered.

Jungkook grinned. "Still, you love me"

Mark blushed "Shut up" he said frowning again before disappearing.

Jungkook put his hands into his pocket. The night was really cold and quite windy. He spotted a small bar just at the corner of the street and walked towards it but as soon as he stepped his feet inside, he could feel a strange sensation all over his body. Just as he can sense love, he could also sense pain, sadness, longing and all of these hit him like a bolt of thunder. He shook his head. The bar isn't a place to be. Too many emotions. Worse is the hospital. He turned to go when his eyes caught a lonely figure sitting on a chair. He looked closely and saw it was a woman. Beautiful, sophisticated and very young. It seemed out of place for a woman like her to sit at a semi crowded bar drinking from a big glass of whisky with a distraught look on her face. She looked like someone ready to take her own life after she was done here. Something at the back of his mind screamed for him to just mind his business but as usual, he followed the opposite, his heart and found himself walking towards the woman.

As he sat on the chair opposite hers, the smell of her pain grew stronger. He noticed she was gazing at some pictures as she gulped down her alcohol. She hadn't even noticed his presence so he cleared his throat to gain her attention. She slowly looked up at him, her eyes red and puffy.

"I couldn't help but notice a pretty woman like yourself sitting alone at a bar..."

"Fuck off!" she barked harshly. "If you are trying to flirt with me just back up right now because I'm not in a good mood"

Jungkook slightly nodded his head and picked up one of the pictures. The woman glared at him.

"What the hell do you think you are doing?" she whispered in a frail voice.

Jungkook didn't listen to her. He just looked at the image of two handsome men holding hands as they where walking down the street. He turned to the other.

"Is this the source of your pain?"

She didn't answer.

Jungkook sighed. "Please tell me..."

She sniffed. "Why would you even care?"

Jungkook just gave her an understanding smile. She sighed and nodded her head.

"The shorter one is my fiance. We are supposed to be getting married in a few months but these past few days, so much has changed...."

"I mean it didn't start today. I had always suspected something was wrong since the first day we started dating. I was always the one making the initiative for everything in the relationship even sex. He never seemed to enjoy it with me but he is so good to me and treats me with so much respect. He treats me like a princess that I often forget these short comings we had in our relationship until some days ago when he told me he was on a mission to get a piece of land from this guy for his father"

"The first thing I noticed was the spark in his eyes. I had never seen him look so excited before"

She sighed. "He has always been kind of moody but that moment, he looked happy about something..."

"I waved it off. I didn't say anything. He still called me and sent me letters but when they started to dwindle, I hired a private investigator to spy on him. I received these pictures yesterday night."

Tears began to fall down her eyes. "I don't need a sooth Sayer to know he's in love with that man. I always prayed that one day he would look at me like that. With love but it was never bound to happen"

Jungkook felt sorry for her. First things first. Her fiance is a jerk. If he didn't want her, he should have just said so instead of doing something like this to her. He looked at her. She needed love. His love and she deserved to get it.

His head told him not to do it. Don't interfere in her life but his heart said differently. Interfere. Do it. You are helping to save this suicidal woman's life.

He smiled finally. "What if I tell you that I can be of a big help to you?"

She stared at him. "What do you mean?"

"I can get your fiance to forget about this other guy and love you and only you"

She scoffed. "You are a joker" she said drinking a shot of whiskey.

Jungkook smiled to himself. Of course she would never believe. He would just have to show her. He nudged her and she looked at him.

"You see that woman wearing a red dress?" he said pointing to the particular figure sitting down at the front of the bar.

"I'm going to make her fall in love with that biker guy in front of her"

The woman stared at him like he was crazy. "What?"

He just grinned and opened out his palm. A shiny white arrow and a bow appeared on top. The woman saw it and she gasped in shock. Jungkook closed his palm. The arrow flew towards the woman's direction and hit her squarely on the chest. She dropped the drink she was holding and froze for a while before she suddenly stood up and walked towards the biker man who looked surprised as she ran her hand all over his face.

"Now, I will make him reciprocate her feelings"

He opened his palm again. The cupid appeared on top and when he closed his palm, the arrow flew and hit the man's chest. The man whose gaze was on the woman suddenly smiled brightly at her as he held her waist and pulled her to sit on his laps. The two began to make out.

The woman gasped as she stared at him.

"Who are you? Are you a magician?" she whispered.

He laughed loudly. "Far greater than a magician but you don't need to know that. All you need to know is that I have a solution to your problem"

He looked at her. "So miss..."

"Yumi" she answered quickly.

"So Yumi do you have a small container with you?"

She nodded and began to reach into her bag before she stopped and looked at him suspiciously.

"You're not a demon looking to collect souls from desperate individuals in need of a favor are you?"

Jungkook laughed. "No, I'm perfectly harmless and I'm definitely not a demon. I won't ask a favor from you or anything. This is actually my job you know"

Yumi shook her head. "I'm drunk. I'm just drunk. In the morning I can sort all these out" she whispered to herself as she brought out a small transparent tube container and handed it to him.

He took it and opened the tube while Yumi stared at him in apprehension. He opened his palm again and held it over the tube. Droplets of white substances like invisible snow began to fall into the tube. He closed his palm and it disappeared.

He closed back the tube. " Here you go. I just gave you substances from the cupid. Give this to your fiance and he will love you forever but there's a downside to this..."

"What?"

"His love for you will vanish if he sheds true tears of pain for the one he's truly in love with"

Yumi held the tube tightly and nodded her head. She will work towards it. Jungkook stood up and stretched his arms.

"I guess my work with you is done. I really have to head home now"

She gazed at him with her mouth agape.

"Tell me, who are you really?"

He looked down at her and smiled secretly. The lights suddenly went out for a few seconds. People shouted on top of their voices and when it came back on, Yumi didn't see him again. She looked around her. He was nowhere to be seen but the cupid substance was still in her hands. Fear consumed her and she realized she had gotten herself neck deep in something she wasn't aware of. She gathered the pictures into her bag along with the tube and dashed towards the door but froze when she saw the biker and the woman who few minutes ago had practically being licking each other's faces off stare in confusion and sit far away from each other. Yumi shook her head. They had gotten back their senses. A small smile finally formed on her face. She was going to break up a potential couple she thought to herself as she made her way out of the bar.

Hye sun had woken up quite early that morning, his conscience eating him up inside especially after he just realized he had unknowingly fallen in love with Taejun.

He ran his hands roughly over his hair. He had to fix this mess. He had to tell Taejun the truth. He had decieved him all for a piece of land, to make his father proud of him but now, he no longer cared about anything but seeing Taejun happy. He was going to make things right. He caressed the sleeping man beside him and kissed the top of his head fondly before taking a fresh bath and heading out of the house with determination in his mind but little did he know that he was never coming back there again.

I wasn't supposed to upload today but some of my readers wanted an early update since here it is. Thanks for reading this chapter. This book will soon be coming to an end and I feel bad about it somehow. Anyway, have a great day
