Fifty five

He had been living with Kim Taejun for a few days now and he noticed one thing. He was always very busy. He would leave the house early in the morning and come back quite late at night long after he had fallen asleep. It made getting close to him quite difficult not to mention Nara's open hostility towards him. All he needed was one chance. Just one to get closer to him and it finally happened one night.

Hye sun was fast asleep when sudden raucus from downstairs woke him up. He opened his eyes weakly as it adjusted to the light from bed side lamp beside him. The noise got louder and made him uncomfortable and for a while, he was filled with fear but he summoned courage and went downstairs only to find Taejun scrambling around blindly inside the kitchen. There was blood flowing down his fore head and staining his clothes. Without another thought, Hye sun ran to Taejun and held him by the arm. He groaned in pain.

"What happened?" he cried searching his agonized face but Taejun just mumbled some incoherent words as Hye sun sat him down on the kitchen table and began to search for something, anything to treat his wound.

"Check the top drawer" Taejun murmured pointing at the supposed drawer. Hye sun did at he said and pulled out a wooden box. When he opened it, it was filled with all sorts of first aid tools. He wasted no time and pulled out a cotton wool which he used to wipe the blood pouring down his head.

"Tell me Taejun, what happened. It's in the middle of the night and you are looking like this" he questioned.

Taejun frowned "It's nothing..."

Hye sun was quiet for a while making the situation quite awkward as both their faces where much too close.

"I know what's going on" Hye sun started "why you keep late nights and why you look like this but it doesn't have to be this way. You have potential Taejun"

Taejun shoved his hand away. "What do you know about my life?" he said grumpily.

Hye sun shrugged wearing a thin smile on his face. "Nothing much Taejun apart from what you told me but I'm worried about you. I don't want to see you get hurt"

He meant it but it was also another avenue for him to get closer to him. Taejun gazed at him for a moment before biting his lip.

"I got into a fight with one of my clients" he suddenly blurted out and Hye sun hid a smile.

"He refused to pay my money. He has been owing me for months now"

"Did you still get the money?"

Taejun pouted. "No!"

Hye sun sighed. "That's sad but I'll help you with money if that's what you need"

The other's eyes widened. He looked totally shocked. "What? No, there's no need for that. I have some saved up"

Hye sun partly thought about Taejun saving money. He really wasn't a rascal after all.

"it's nothing Taejun but only on one condition..."

Taejun stared at him before he continued. "That you will stop whatever nasty business you are involved in"

Taejun said nothing looking down at his feet.
"You don't understand. I can't stop"

"I can help you Taejun but you have to let me in" Hye sun whispered.

Taejun barely nodded.

"Do you promise me?"

Silence.

"I don't know..."

"Taejun...."

"Alright...alright I promise" he answered rather non-commitantly.

Hye sun just smiled and continued his treatment on Taejun's head. He finished soon placing a small plaster over the cut. Thankfully, it was a minor cut that didn't need stitches. Taejun thanked him profusely and left immediately from his presence.

Two days later, he accompanied Taejun to pick up his mother from the hospital after helping to pay the remaining bill that was owed the hospital. The woman was grateful.

"My Taejun says you are a good man. I can see that"

She looked him up and down "And you are very handsome too no wonder my son can't stop talking about you"

Taejun looked extremely embarrassed. "Eomma... "

His mother laughed at his blushing face and Hye sun felt his heart grow warmer towards the other boy.

Mrs Kim returned home. She and Hye sun bonded very well. He was very good at listening to all her stories unlike Taejun who would fall asleep in less than five minutes. Soon, it was becoming a routine for him and Taejun to stroll around the land at night feeling the gentle breeze caress their skin and watching the moon if it came out. It was at such moments that he could calmly admire Taejun's beauty. He looked like a model straight from a magazine and Hye sun feared that he was letting his feelings keep him away from his mission. He knew it wasn't yet time to bring up the issue about selling the land to Taejun. His father was getting impatient already so he thought of only one thing. He had to make Taejun fall in love with him.

Apart from Taejun, he helped around the house and contributed in paying the bills. This obviously didn't sit well with Nara who decided to confront him one day. He was baking a cake for the family because recently, he had told Taejun he knew how to bake but the latter had only laughed.

"A rich boy like you can't tell a baking powder from ordinary flour" he had teased wearing a smirk on his face.

Hye sun scoffed. "Then I'm just going to prove it to you"

So he had left for the market early, purchased all the ingredients and returned to the house then started to bake when he felt a presence behind him.

"What are you really doing here?" a soft voice whispered.

He turned round and saw Nara frowning hard at him. He smiled.

"Hey Nara!"

She grinned. "I won't fall for that smile Hye sun. You are suspicious and I'm going to find out what you're hiding. Trust me. I won't let you hurt my precious Taejun"

Hye sun gulped. She seemed pretty determined as she walked off. He was standing on egg shells ever since that day and decided to be more careful especially around her. He heard of her story from Taejun. When she was young, her father abandoned she and her mother then her mother unable to cope with the torment, committed suicide leaving her alone. Taejun found her lying on the street five years ago and decided to help her by taking her into his home. She had immediately fallen for him despite knowing his sexuality and Taejun only felt bad for her because he knew he could never give her what she wanted.

However, despite his promise to Hye sun, Kim Taejun was still with his friends continuing their meetings secretly.

"There's something different about you Taejun...you seem brighter" Lee pil no pointed out one day.

The rest nodded their heads in agreement.

"I don't see you anymore Taejun. Do you have a boyfriend now or something?" Kai added with a slight frown. Kim Taejun blushed and they all began to tease him.

"So, who is he?" Joon Jae said when a voice interrupted the conversation.

"Kim Taejun!"

All boys turned to look at a rather short looking man storming towards them. They all agreed in their mind that this handsome stranger was hot. Taejun specifically looked quite alarmed to see the man who had reached them and was now standing in their midst.

"Kim Taejun. You failed in keeping your promise!" he suddenly shouted.

The other blinked at him.

"Who are you?" Kai asked and Hye sun smiled fully.

"Park Hye sun !"

Everyone raised their heads.

"The one!" Dae Soo murmured.

Taejun heaved staring at Hye sun "What are you doing here? Did you follow me?"

Hye sun nodded. "Yes I did"

He was suddenly distracted by the items littered on the ground. There were all types of drugs there and he just shook his head.

"Is this what you do?"

Kai frowned. "Look kid, you don't understand what's going on so why don't you.... "

Taejun gave him a hard stare interrupting his words before looking back at Hye sun.

"Look, things are different here in the North. I must do everything I must do to survive. I'm sorry Hye sun but I can't just stop unless you have something better to offer"

Hye sun smiled. " I have something better. I can help you stand on your feet but you have to be willing to help yourself"

Taejun seemed interested "What do I need to do?"

"I know some business people that can help you start up a business but first, you'll need a lot of capital"

They all looked at each other. "Are you sure about this?" Taejun said raising his eye brows.

Hye sun nodded with a smile. "This isn't a scam. I really want to help you. All of you..."

He looked at them and saw a little bit of hesitation but they agreed and the next day, Hye sun set up a meeting with some of his business partners. People whom he trusted and he discovered that Taejun was interested in Investment. Though, he hadn't finished college but his zeal and determination was quite impressive but they needed a huge capital. Though, they had a lot of money saved up from dealing in drugs but it wasn't enough for the type of business they wanted to start. It meant just one thing. He had to sell the land. His mother wasn't happy with the idea but everything was already laid out so she had to agree with it.

Lawyers from his father's company came with documents and he signed the contract selling out his land. It was a painful decision and Taejun sat in front of his house one evening drinking from a bottle of wine. Hye sun met him and joined him sitting beside him.

"What's wrong?" he whispered.

"I feel bad that I did that. I sold my land"

Hye sun was feeling guilty. According to the contract, he still had one week to change his mind and stop the sale so he reminded him of that but Taejun just sighed. They sat down mutually each in their own thoughts. Taejun smiled at Hye sun.

"Seriously, how do you do this? You seem like you have everything under control" Taejun suddenly said

Hye sun rolled his eyes. "Not really...." he said and grabbed the wine from him gulping down some contents.

"I am adopted and my adoptive father doesn't give a shit about me. I was taken from the orphanage at the age of seven and since then, my life was never my own. Though I have everything, I had to work hard for every penny I received and do a bunch of things I'm not proud of but somehow, after meeting you, I feel like I have a purpose"

"Thank you" Taejun suddenly whispered staring deep into his eyes. That alone made Hye sun shiver.

"For what?" he whispered

"For also bringing a purpose into my life"

There was silence and that was the first time, he felt he had no control over his senses because how he ended up pressing his lips into Taejun's was shocking but it felt so good and right. Taejun kissed him back running his hands over his back letting him taste the sweet alcohol from his mouth. When they separated, they where blushing furiously leaning their heads against each other.

"Sooo... What are we now?" he said.

Hye sun smiled. "We could be anything you want"

"Love birds!" Mrs Park cooed from the front door and they separated blushing fiercely. She had a smile on her face.

"Do come in for dinner" She said as she entered. They where together for the rest of the night
but the next morning,Hye sun left the house without telling anyone and Taejun was worried. Still, he went to the mail box to check out the mail at usual when his eyes caught hold of a news paper. He never got newspaper in the mail and this particular one was odd so he took it out and flipped to the front page when he saw the headline news with a picture of Hye sun standing beside another older looking man.

Park Hye sun, Heir of Billionaire business Mogul and owner of Park investment and real estate company Park Moo so seals Northern land deal worth five billion won

Right there, everything felt blank to Taejun and he knew he would never be the same again.

Thanks for reading everyone. Lots of love to you all
