Gone Without A Goodbye
"Good morning beautiful, I made breakfast." Mark lightly poked the tip of your nose. The smell of coffee and sizzling bacon woke you up instantly, opening your eyes to find Mark holding a tray holding a plate piled with eggs, bacon, and waffles drenched in syrup. He set the tray down in your lap, handing you the mug of coffee. "This is why I love you." You smiled, kissing his cheek before taking a bite of eggs, washing it down with a sip of coffee after blowing on it. It burnt your tongue slightly, but you didn't mind. "Is that the only reason?" He raised an eyebrow. "Hmm..." You pretended to think about it. Mark stole a piece of bacon in response, licking it before putting it back on the plate with a smug grin. You took a bite out of it anyway. "Mmm." You finished it, wiping the grease off on his face. "Eww!" He went off to the bathroom to wash it off. Only he didn't come back. You waited for a couple of minutes before getting out of bed and peeking into the bathroom. Empty. Confused, you looked around the house, still finding no sign of him. You jumped when you heard a loud sound on the roof, startling you. You looked out the window to see if it was hailing, but instead saw that it was raining heavily. You decided to investigate the noise, going outside and squinting to see a figure standing on the roof. Mark. Eyes wide with fear, you yelled his name. Either he didn't hear or ignored you as he stepped closer to the edge. A drop from that height would kill him, or worse. How did he even get up there?, You wondered as you observed your surroundings. You noticed that there were muddy footprints left on your car roof. You climbed up and jumped to the roof, grabbing Mark's arm. "What are you doing?" You panted, a little out of breath from the jump. When he turned to face you, you almost wished he didn't. His eyes were rimmed with red, the chocolate brown color dimmer and filled with defeat. Rain mixed with the tears on his face, his faded red hair dripping in his face. "I can't keep this up." He shakily pointed at his head. "Mark-" "I'm sorry." He cut you off, gently removing his arm from your grip. "Don't you dare!" You yelled, reaching for him again. Before you could stop him, he stepped off of the roof. You screamed his name, watching with horror as he continued his descent. Only he never reached the ground. Almost an inch before impact, he disappeared to who knows where. Running a hand through your hair in exasperation, you climbed back down and ran back inside to plan what to do next. However, your phone started vibrating in your pocket. You checked the caller ID before answering. Jack. "Hello (Y/N)." Mark purred.
Sorry the update is short, don't really have a good excuse except for the sane one I've used all the time: I'm extremely busy. Anyway, let me know if you guys want more! If not, I'll probably end the book here or something. Kinda don't want to write this anymore since I lost interest in it and I seriously ship Amyplier. Anyway, see ya!
