Everything Will Be Fine...

(3 years later)

"I'm bored!" Mark whined as he floated around the confined space of the cabin, nearly kicking you in the head as he passed by. You were reading a book in your seat while reclining back. "We're almost there." Antonio assured him with an eye roll. "I'm going outside." Mark informed me as he donned his suit and exited the ship. Almost a second later, Mark rushes back in with a worried expression. " We're about to run into an asteroid belt." Mark announced. Antonio's fingers flew across the controls in a blur while Caleb scanned the map for the best way to avoid, or go through if necessary, the belt. "Buckle up!" Antonio ordered everyone. You marked your place in your book then tossed it aside as you buckled up. You glanced back at Cassie and Samantha. Both of their faces were as white as a sheet. "Hey, it'll be fine. We'll make it through." You promised your friends. They didn't seem convinced, but they visibly relaxed some. The rocket suddenly shuttered, making the red alarms blare. "Mark, check the cooling system!" Caleb ordered. Mark, still in his suit, went outside. You decided to help by bringing him his tools. You donned your suit and followed Mark out with his equipment. "Thanks." Mark nodded in appreciation as he tightened his grip on the shuttle. You both had forgotten to grab a harness to hold you to the ship. You couldn't go back, it would waste precious time. You pressed yourself against the rocket as a large asteroid spiraled past. "(Y/N), get back inside!" Mark commanded as he unscrewed a panel and began fiddling with a tangle of severed red and blue wires. You chose to stay out here with him in case he needed help. "(Y/N) I'm serious!" Mark said sternly. You still didn't follow his instructions. With a sigh, Mark screwed the panel back into place. "The ship's overheating." He informed you. "One more hit and we'd be lucky if we made it past the belt. Just please, go inside." Mark pleaded. Reluctantly, you headed towards the door. You were almost there whenever an asteroid bowled into you, causing you to lose your grip and crack your helmet. "(Y/N)! Mark cried. It felt like an elephant was sitting on your chest as you struggled to roll the asteroid off of you. Finally, you managed to free yourself, but you were several yards away from the ship. Mark was moving as fast as he could towards you. You gasped for breath as the air in your helmet emptied. Black spots were dancing in your vision, threatening to encompass you in darkness. You felt Mark shake you to make you stay awake. Suddenly, you were able to breath again. You sucked the air in with a gasp. By the time the spots in your vision faded, you noticed that Mark wasn't wearing a helmet anymore. "No, no no no." You chanted. You grabbed onto him and fought your way through the thick field of asteroids to the ship. Mark had brought you close enough to where you were only a couple of feet away. "What's happening out there (Y/N), Mark's not answering. Hell, I can't even see you guys." You saw Cassie with a harness floating by the door. "I'm right here!" You waved hysterically while still holding onto Mark. "Oh my god." Cassie gasped as she floated over to you, took your hand and dragged you inside. "Mark?" You gently shook him. No response. "He needs CPR." Samantha stated. All eyes turned towards you. You were the only one who had medical training. Drake also had medical training, but he wasn't here. You were Mark's only option. Awkwardly, you bent down and leaned your mouth closer to Mark's. Arubptly, he sat straight up, hitting you in the face. "Ow!" You winced as you rubbed your nose, which was where it mostly hurt. "What....happened?" Mark sputtered as he regained his breath. He shook his head in confusion as he stood up. "(Y/N) tried to kiss you while you were unconscious." Caleb snorted in amusement from where he was still co-piloting the ship through the belt and deactivating the alarms since they were almost out. "N-no! I didn't." You protested meekly. Mark's face turned a bright shade of red. "Thanks for, you know, saving me." You gave him a quick hug, then left to go to your room. You flopped down onto your bed and screamed into your pillow. "(Y/N)?" Cassie poked her head through the doorway. You grunted in reply, your face still buried in the pillow. "Caleb was just joking, you know that right?" She sat down on the bed beside you and rubbed your back in slow circles, calming you slightly. "I know, it's just that...ugh, it's complicated." You groaned as you removed the pillow and held it close against your chest. "C'mon, I'm your best friend. Tell me." She urged you. Hesitantly, you explained that Mark was a Let's Player, someone who plays games on YouTube and that you watched his videos. You also told her about the fact that you had a crush on him, but didn't know how to tell him. She opened her mouth to say something, but was interrupted by the alarm starting back up. You and Cassie darted out of the room to the cabin. "We're hit! We need to land somewhere!" Antonio shouted as he jerked the ship yep to the side to avoid a cluster of small asteroids only to slam into other ones. "We have to land on Mars, it's right past the belt." Caleb instructed. You fastened yourself into your seat and glanced over at Mark. He was flexing his fingers, causing them to pop and he was fidgeting in his seat. His leg was bouncing up and down. You reached over and placed a hand on his knee in an attempt to calm him down. His leg went rigid and his fingers clasped together on his lap. He took a couple of deep breaths and relaxed a little. "I swear if you say that everything will be fine, I'll slap you." He joked. "Don't worry, I won't." You assured him. You didn't even believe it yourself. It seemed like everything was going wrong all at once. It was absolute chaos. "Hold onto something, we're crash landing!" Antonio warned you. As you landed, your head flew forward and slammed back against the seat, knocking you out.
