Sugawara ended up walking the streets that he had grown to know all too well with exhaustion overflowing him. He ended up staying all night writing the first 'Love Bullet' to his collection of 'Love Bullets'. He walked slower than usual, his eyes almost shut time and time again. Regardless, Suga pushed himself, forcing himself to arrive to school before Daichi.
Once Suga managed to pass through the school gates, he decided that it would be best to skip morning practice. This way, he had time to put the poem in the locker, and it wouldn't be obvious that he hadn't slept all night. This was logically the best solution. So that's exactly what the precious Suga did. He walked past the gym, skipping volleyball practice, and walked towards Daichi's locker.
Sugawara was nervous, at first, but eventually stuck to his plan and sleepily put the poem and the note in the locker. Closing the locker quietly, the silver haired triumphantly began making his way to class, knowing that Daichi and Asahi are likely to question why he wasn't at morning practice. Once Suga had made his way to class, the boy sat on the chair beside his desk, waiting for class to start.
Staying awake is going to be a challenge.
Suga thought to himself, before more students had entered and sat by their desks. The students had included Daichi and Asahi, who simply looked at the silver haired with worry. The two were quite surprised about the fact that Suga of all people, had chosen to skip morning practice. Daichi, of all people, knew that it was out of character for the precious Sugawara, nevermind skipping practice, but to look exhausted was also unusual.
–--—
During morning practice, Daichi couldn't help but worry about his dear friend, Sugawara. After all, he knew full too well that Suga wasn't the type to just skip practice like that. Practice wasn't the same without the silver haired's usual scolding at both Kageyama and Hinata. Suga was the only one who had the ability to end their arguments, however now that he was gone all of morning practice was wasted on everyone attempting to diffuse a pointless argument between Kageyama and Hinata.
Eventually, after an eternity, practice was over and soon they all changed back into their uniforms and made their way to class. Before hand, Daichi stopped by his locker, about to gather his books and change his shoes when he noticed an envelope.
Strange, I barely get any letters.
Daichi thought as he picked up the envelope. It wasn't anything special really, it was an ordinary envelope with writing that read "To Daichi Sawamura". The captain decided to open the envelope, to reveal two pieces of paper. One of the pieces was larger than the other. He then picked up the smaller piece of paper, and read its contents.
'Here's the first poem that I wrote to you, I hope that you'll like it.
To make things more interesting, I decided that I'll let you figure out who wrote them, and find out what the poems are trying to say.
From, Purple Incense'
The only emotion that Daichi could register was confusion and annoyance. It did annoy him that this person couldn't just reveal their identity to him and get straight to the point and would rather play games with him. Regardless, he mentally threw away those emotions to one side as he picked up the second piece. He began to read.
' 'Love Bullet No. 1'
You were always caring
And patient, even if I really annoy you.
Calm like the waves
Belonging to an ocean,
That's dependent on the moon.
You're important to me,
And you always will be. '
A soft blush had crept onto Daichi's face as he had finished reading the poem. He had found that the poem was very sweet. He also figured that whoever wrote had to have known him for a while. In the end, that leaves with his volleyball team. Secret identities really does annoy the captain, but in the end, he's willing to put effort into finding the person. A smile crept onto his face, only imagining the possibility of Suga being the one who wrote it. He doubted that though, as he'd probably be the type to just tell him.
Right?
"Daichi? You've been staring at your locker for a while now, we better head to class." a voice, which belonged to Asahi informed the captain, taking few steps back afterwards in fear of annoying his friend.
"Oh, right thanks Asahi!" Daichi replied, calmly. Asahi was rather surprised that the captain wasn't annoyed, so he walked up to the dark haired.
"Any who, what's up? You seemed to be thinking about something."
"Oh, it's doesn't really matter, let's go to class."
Just like that, the two made their way to class in silence. Both thinking about what had happened so far. Daichi was still wondering about the meaning of the poem. It had appeared to be describing his personality at the beginning, but it went of topic. Poems always annoyed and confused him.
After a while, they had made it to class. Both noticed that Suga was already there sitting beside his desk. He appeared to be exhausted which only worried the two.
From Daichi's perspective, Suga was the type who'd scold anybody for not getting enough sleep. In fact, Sugawara would scold them for just about anything for that matter. At times, Suga truly acted as if he was a mother. That fact sometimes actually scared Daichi, but telling the vice captain that will only cause the poor captain to be teased more than he already does, so he'd never admit to such a thing.
Regardless of their worries, the two sat by their desks, just as homeroom was about to start.
–--—
While the Literature teacher was busy teaching, well literature, Daichi couldn't help but notice that Suga appeared to be barely paying attention to the lesson. The exhaustion on the silver haired's face was quite obvious, which only made the captain worry more. Regardless, he had no choice but to continue to pay attention to the lesson at hand.
I'll just ask Suga if he's okay at lunch.
Daichi thought to himself, a smile crept onto his face as he couldn't wait to get a chance to talk to his dear friend.
–--—
Finally, it was lunch time and Daichi felt relieved. The lesson felt like it had lasted for years and yet it had only been almost three hours. Feeling as if all of his lost energy had been regained, the dark haired walked up to the silver haired. He noticed that Suga only looked more tired now than he did at the start, but brushed it off.
"Hey Suga! I noticed that you skipped morning practice so I just wanted to make sure that you're alright." Daichi began, using his usual calm tone.
Upon hearing the captain's voice, it caused Suga to tiredly look up. Sugawara realised that he had made a mistake staying up that night. Then again, he believed that it was worth while as a result of the poem that he wrote.
"Yeah I'm fine..." Suga replied tiredly, releasing a soft yawn in the process. Daichi didn't appear to be so convinced, but shook it off and the two made their way outside in silence. The silver haired at some point had began to feel dizzy, but he decided to ignore it.
Despite it, Daichi noticed almost immediately how paler Sugawara appeared than he did the last time he saw him. Yet Daichi didn't want to push Suga into saying anything and therefore he chose to stay silent about it. They made it to a nearby bench on the school grounds and sat on the said bench in silence.
As the two began to eat their lunch, they had finally decided to exchange a normal conversation. Suga taking slightly longer to reply due to his exhaustion overpowering him, resulting in processing things in much slower than he normally would. The other didn't seem to mind that much as he patiently waited for the silver haired to say his part and carry on the conversation. Everything seemed to be pretty much all normal.
At least, it would have been normal if it wasn't for what was about to happen the moment that the bell had rang to indicate that lunch was over.
"We should head to class now, lessons are about to start." Daichi mentioned, upon hearing the sound of the all too familiar bell.
All Suga could do was nod in response as he got off the bench, only to find that he felt dizzy again. Regardless of that feeling, he began making his way, only for the feeling to worsen with every step that he took. It got to the point that Suga had to pause at his fifth step as he could barely see anything other spots. What was worse was that he could barely hear anything.
"Suga?!? SUGA!!"
This was the last thing that Suga was able to process before the world before him had turned black.
