#1. A Sweet Haven

Dreamers always make their own places. They strive hard, work hard and achieve all that they crave. It is rightly said that you cannot achieve anything until and unless you crave it. You have to keep dreaming to turn your dreams into reality. Ms Ruhana Oberoi believes so. She’s a well-known personality in the business fraternity and is a down-to-earth person. She’s very much successful, and at the same time, she loves her sisters immensely.

Ruhana has three younger sisters -Bulbul, Suhanika and Anamika.  Bulbul and Suhanika have pursued their dreams and are doing their dream jobs. While Anamika has joined the family business in order to help her elder sister. She says that it’s her dream and Ruhana is content by her decision. After Anamika joined the business, they have only seen success and Ruhana is glad about it. She’s happy to have her little sister by her side, all the time. This way, they take care of each other better.

These four sisters are only family to each other. Bulbul is the second of the four sisters and she loves her younger sisters immensely. She is mostly concerned about Suhanika and Anamika. If Ruhana scolds them, she’s their protective shield and when she needs some help, she clings to Ruhana. Suhanika is the third born, she always abides by Ruhana’s awards and doesn’t leave any chance to tease Anamika and Bulbul. Often Suhanika, Anamika and Bulbul team up to tease Ruhana or to change her mood. Anamika, being the youngest, is the most pampered in the house. She loves her elder sisters immensely but she’s more inclined towards Ruhana, after all, the latter has seen her growing up and cares for her like a mother does for her kids.

Ruhana is the CEO of Oberoi Industries instilled by her late father. After his demise, Ruhana took the hold of the business and now they’re amongst the top 5 businesses. The youngest sister of the four, Anamika is also helping Ruhana now and is handling many projects. These two work hard and act smart. They are glad about the position they are in right now.
Life is good for the four sisters — they are happy and it matters the most to them.

*****
It’s a fine day in the Oberoi Household. The house-help, Anjali is making breakfast in the kitchen. A young girl in her early twenties runs into the kitchen and looks at the girl.

“Anjali, tumne Di ko dekha?” She asks, her tone carrying urgency.

“Ruhana Didi toh jogging pe gayi hain na. Aur aap itni jaldi kaise jaag gayi? Abhi toh 7 hi baje hain.” Anjali replies and counter-questions her.

“Uffo! Ye Di bhi na! Inko kuch yaad nahi rehta.” The young girl slaps her forehead and at the same time, she hears her sister’s voice.

A girl in her mid-thirties enters the house after her morning jog. She’s talking on the phone and the other girl fumes in anger. She’s Anamika Oberoi while the one on the phone is Ruhana Oberoi. Anamika has all the right to scold Ruhana because she knows that Ruhana won’t say a word, instead listen to her. However, Anamika and Ruhana share a mother-child bond, more than that of a sisters. Ruhana might scold Suhani and Bulbul but she’s very soft towards Anamika.

Anamika watches her sister as she is talking on the phone. It’s like a usual day, and she knows that her sister can’t keep calm, she’s always busy in one or the other task.

“We need to finish the project soon. It will be beneficial for us and we will get more work,”

“Okay, let’s discuss this in the office today, okay? Yeah, see you at 12,”

Ruhana disconnects the call and turns around only to find Anamika standing in front of her. Her hands are resting on her waist and she’s glaring at Ruhana. Ruhana knows that she’s going to get a scolding from her youngest sister, who snatches the phone from Ruhana’s hand.

“Main na aapke cabin mein ek floor bed lagva deti hoon. Saara din wahin rehna aur kaam karna. Meri, Bulbul Di aur Suhani Di ki chinta toh hai nahi aapko. Jab dekho kaam, kaam, kaam!” Anamika says, her tone laced with annoyance.

“Ana, it was important. Hamare client Mr Ahluwalia ka call tha. Tujhe pata hain na main jogging mein phone lekar nahi jaati.” Ruhana tries to convince her.

“Aapke liye sab kaam important hi hota hain, Di. Aur aisa hamesha hota hain, hum dinner karte hain tab bhi aapke phone aate rehte hain. Matlab subah bhi insaan chain se nahi reh sakta,” Anamika says, glaring at her elder sister.

“Huh, main subah uthi taaki aapki help kar sakun. Aapko yaad hai na, aaj Suhani Di aa rahi hain? Ya bhul gayi?” Anamika rolls her eyes at Ruhana.

“Subah ke 7:30 baje bhi phone pe lagi hui ho! Ab toh mujhe kuch karna hi padega.” Anamika says, thinking deeply, trying to threaten Ruhana, who’s watching her intently.

“Kya karna padega?” Ruhana asks, her tone soft and curious.

“Aapko saza milegi, Ms Ruhana Oberoi.” Anamika says dramatically.

“Achcha, bolo kya karna hain?” Ruhana asks, playing along with Anamika.

She knows that Anamika will demand some time out. She always craves for some time with her sisters, for, they are the only families to each other. Moreover, Suhanika lives away from them, owing to her job. Now, that, she’s coming back, Ruhana knows that they wil demand outings and dinners.

“Aaj Suhani Di aa rahi hai, toh ab kal hum charon bahar jayenge, aur aap koi kaam nahi karogi, manzoor hai?” Anamika asks and Ruhana nods positively.

Meanwhile, Bulbul, the second born comes towards them. She’s more inclined to Ruhana, and cares for Anamika and Suhanika equally. She gazes at her elder sister.

“Anu ki toh saari baatein maanti ho. Mujhe mana kar deti ho! Very bad, Di.”  Bulbul says, her tone playful.

“Kyunki Di loves me more, you know. And please inko bolo aaj ke liye kaam band kare,” Anamika sends a tease her way.

“Samjha ke fayda nahi hai Anu. Di nahi sunegi, aur waise bhi wo sab manage kar lengi. “ Bulbul says softly, a smile playing on her lips.

“Arey arey, Suhani ko lene ke liye maine Raghu ko bhej diya hain. Wo log bas aate hi honge.” Ruhana informs the other two.

“Huh! Main aur aap jaane wale they na! This is unfair, Di.”  Anamika whines, she wanted to receive her sister from the station.

“Ana, it’s okay! Abhi wo 15-20 days yahin rehne wali hain. Hum maze karenge na. Tujhe aaj ke presentation ke liye prepare nahi karna?” Ruhana asks, they have a meeting today and it is quite important.

“It’s all set Di. But abhi Suhani Di ko aane do na. Abhi time hain meeting mein. Aur aap jaake ready ho jao. Come on!”  Anamika says giving Ruhana a slight push.

Ruhana nods and moves into the kitchen. She checks the dishes— it’s all Suhanika’s favourite dishes. She’s coming back after eight months. She’s been working in a famous hotel chain in Delhi. She wants to own a hotel range and that’s why she’s landed in Delhi. Also, she admires the hotelier and a great chef, Arjun Malhotra. Ruhana is just thinking about Suhanika when the said girl hugs her.

“Di, I missed you!” Suhani hugs her elder sister tightly.

“I missed you too. You’re home after so many days.”  Ruhana says kissing her forehead.

“Unko apne boss se fursat milegi tab toh wo hamare baare mein sochengi na, Di.” Anamika says teasingly and Suhani glares at her.

“Di, dekho isko! Main abhi aayi hoon aur ye shuru ho gayi.” Suhani makes a face, her tone laced with annoyance.

“Karlo shikayat! Di mujhse kuch nahi bolengi.” Anamika says confidently.

Suhani makes a face but upon Ruhana’s insistence, she moves into her room to freshen up. On the other hand, Bulbul and Anamika help Ruhana in laying the table. Anamika is still in her naughty mode, sending teases to Suhanika. Well, Suhanika’s boss is kind and she often tells about him to Ruhana. Anamika began teasing her and Suhani gets affected which makes it easy for Anamika to tease her.

Meanwhile, Ruhana calls for Suhanika. The girl chuckles to see her favourite dishes on the table and digs in.

Ruhana watches as her three sisters are happy finding their favourite food and she’s content at the moment.

Life is good for the Oberoi sisters and Ruhana hopes it to be the same way.
