In the maze it was dark and the bushes were filled with thorns. There were traps and the maze changed the route each minute. Damon saw the end an ran but got stopped by a wall. Lily alone and armed was dangerous she could attack at any time. Silas was still missing that they started thinking he was dead but what they didn't know was that Silas is with them. Bonnie took blame for this and started becoming depressed. Enzo? Enzo isn't dead except is also with them hunting Damon down,Damon is in danger and all of them are that maze has evil presence nothing like you can describe except it shows your deepest fears. Others that when in that maze never came back and instead  committed suicide because of the "voices" driving them crazy. No one knows if there is actually an exit to the maze or if you can even make it. Callum was scared alone and he was still recovering from joe.
