"There may be the desolate deserts and the calm mountains, guarding the rails and terrains of Saba, and a fierce hunger to shine on the throne. But I never desired to be a Queen. My beloved King, in the strongest embrace of your arms, admiring the Almaqah's shine in your eyes, I wish to lie inhaling your alluring scent, much enticing than the Frankincense," confessed Makeda, the Queen of Saba.

"Oh why, my dear Queen! In my heart, you shall reside, till the throbbing of it subsides. The lands I own and the powers I behold shall always bow to thee, for you are my half, without whom I'd grieve in my grave. God willing, I shall forgo the riches and travel afar with you, my love," sighed Solomon, the King of Israel, kissing her forehead.

"How I wish I could spend my life with you," beads of tears dropped on her cheeks like that of the salty raindrops.

"Ah, my dear. Now is no time to waste. Let me shower you with my love and cherish the moments together. Let this memory be etched in the hearts for as long as the world can remember," so saying, he kissed her sculpted bronze cheeks.

That night, under the shimmering stars and the glowing moon, the pleated satin sheets witnessed the crimson hue of the Queen's cheek. The hearts felt the final moments before the long parting. Each throb imbibed every minute memory of the night. Like the burning incense, their desires burned longer than the night. Together entwined they lay closer and warmer than the scorching desert. As the bright rays of the sun devoured the hungry souls, a knock on the door awakened the worn-out couple.

"Mighty King, we are in need of your immediate assistance," echoed the voice of the armed soldier.

The eyes wept longer and the hands held tighter, as the hearts refused to part.

"My king...," quivered the voice of Makeda.

"Farewell, my love. Be it a son or a daughter, they shall reign my empire. As long as this world survives, our love shall be remembered," he handed over a ruby ring to her and said, "Let the heir bear."

Dejected, the king planted a final kiss and bid adieu to the Queen. Both parted ways, as their Kingdom's fate lay in theirs.
