"Who was he?"

Jungkook speaks for the first time in hours, staring blankly ahead at the skyline. A humid breeze blows through his hair, tainting his senses with the overwhelming scents of the city.

A saddened smirk lifts on his lips when the saltiness of the ocean fills him with nostalgia. Memories of his hometown and his life before that he could never return to.

What would his mother say when another holiday passed and a card from him never came?

What would his father do when the money he secretly sent to his now-closed account would be returned?

What would they think a year from now?

Two..or three...

...when every trace of the life they'd created was stripped from existence and the time for reconciliation had officially expired since the heart born of their blood was no longer beating.

These were the thoughts that plagued his mind now that the loudness had settled, the bloodthirsty haze lifted, and the whispers of impulse had ceased.

It was a bittersweet relief.

Sweet, only because the pain was over and he finally felt like himself, super senses and untapped abilities aside.

Bitter because for the first time in his life, he did something he never imagined he would do.

He killed a man.

The first time Jungkook fed from a living person, it was more than his body's need for sustenance but a carnal release he never knew he needed. He became something that could only be described as a monster and the scariest part of it all...

...was how much he enjoyed it.

Week one...

Several days had passed since Jungkook's death and Tanya had successfully dragged him to the brink of insanity, keeping him chained and feeding him bag after bag of preserved blood until his body wouldn't accept any more.

She knew that was not what he wanted. Not what it needed. But the sadist in her was aroused by the limit she was able to push him to. Aroused by his begging and writhing against her sweat stained sheets.

But the remnants of her former self, though pretty much long gone, began to feel something else towards the man and his suffering..

Week two....

The last of Jungkook's resolve fought a losing battle against the beast inside of him. Tanya was grateful for the size of the well insulated apartment and that sounds of her bedroom couldnt be detected in the foyer.

Jungkook's pained groans were laced with a deep beastly growl as the endless burn of his thirst tortured him. The chains jingled and mattress shook from his chills of starvation.

"Make it stop!!! P....Please just m..make it s..stop! "He cried out.

Tanya laid flush against him fully clothed, her thigh wrapped over his waist and her nails skimming over his chest soothingly.
He wasnt naked anymore, graciously given a pair of dark grey sweat pants to cover his most tempting attributes. She offered him a shirt but he declined.

"Jungkook...you know I cant. You have to make your first kill. Thats all it wants you to do baby and I cant force you." Tanya would repeat to him empathetically.  He'd heard it enough times for him to be sick of it.

"No..." He would shake his head emphatically.

"I cant...I wont...." he sniffled.

Tanya lifts her head to study Jungkook's profile, watching his chin tremble as he avoids inhaling out of habit. It caused him too much pain to breathe and with each gust of air he took in, the louder his thirst's voice would be in his head.

She sighs.

As heartless as she seemed, something nestled deep inside of her wished Jungkook would just give in so that his suffering would end. She cared enough to try to convince him to feed because she knew it was useless to fight it once he'd had his first taste.

He was now at the point of no return where his body would yearn for the only thing he would ever need for eternity. The craving for it being so strong, that it would easily obliterate his psyche before it allowed him to deprive it.

Tanya never allowed herself to get to that point but she'd witnessed the worst it could do.

Something she wouldnt wish on anyone.

"If you dont, it'll only get worse. Ive told you this. The chills..the voices..the pain..its just the beginning." she says softly, rubbing his chest.

As if on cue, the tremors worsened and Jungkook's body arched up from the mattress with a grimace.

FEED

FEEEEEED

The soft and seductive whisper had evolved into a throaty snarl that make Jungkook flinch every time it spoke to him.

Tanya's frown deepened and she hugged him tighter to her body , securing him as he shook.

She hated this. And she hated herself for hating it. Sire's rarely cared about those
they created.

They were just continuing the cycle and expanding the reach of their kind.

Though it was her first time, she hadn't planned to feel an attachment to her conquest beyond what he did to her physically.

She shouldn't care.

She didn't care...

Did she?

"Kill me.."

His soft whisper catches her off gaurd as she was distracted by her thoughts and her eyes flutter at his demand.

"What?"

"K..kill me....Please...I know you can."

"I..I cant..." she stammers, blinking slowly.

"You're l..lying.Y..You're just t..too selfish to l..let me go...you said it...yourself" he shudders amid her response.

Tanya sits up suddenly with her brow creased and scowls down at him.

Selfish? The brattish part of her digs around for a reason to be offended by the word.

Sure, it could be considered kindness to keep him here in her lavish accommodations while he...transitioned... but if she hadnt killed him, there would be no need.

Sure, she sacrificed a good portion of her expensive rationed blood supply to quench his suffering but, had she not made him a vampire, that also wouldnt have been necessary.

After finding no logical rebuttal, she doesnt utter a word. She only takes in the resentful look in his Jungkook's eyes as he gazed up at her.

He clenches his jaw as another dreaded chill rolls over his body, swallowing down his pain before speaking again.

"You...did this to me...you can..undo it." He manages to say. Tanya stares down at him, her lips pressed together grimly. After a few beats of silence, she sighs.

"Jungkook. Its just not that simple. Whats happening to you..What I did..cant be undone. I'm sorry but .....I can't.." she responds sadly.

Which wasnt a complete lie.

There was no cure for the parasitic virus that was vampirism. Once the venom and blood were bonded, and the hosts heart stopped beating, the process could not be reversed.

Not even an attempt at death could thwart it. The thirst would be quenched one way or another and a time would come where the chains wouldn't be enough to hold him. Tanya knew that if he didnt feed soon, his thirst would take over and he'd be neither human or vampire.

He'd become something far worse.

"Yes you can. You just wont." Jungkook's teeth chattered pitifully. Tanya rolls her eyes.

"I can take these chains off and l can let you go but every step you take from now would be different and you need guidance so you dont make the same mistakes that I made...This isnt something I'd lie to you about Jungkook. Its complicated but I can show you how to exist now and how to hunt. I wouldnt just leave you to figure it out like the one who turned me..... I cant force your hand but I could lead you to where you can get fresh blood... I could help you.."she trails off as she lifted her hand from his chest to carress the side of his face. Her touch has his body stiffening on contact, including his expression. Jungkook scoffs and turns his head out of her touch, making her retract her hand.

"Please...listen to yourself..Help me? Y..you think after everything you've done, youre someone I'd look to f..for help?  Youre a liar...You think I don't know how much you've enjoyed this? Keeping m..me here like your little pet or...some f..fucking science experiment....taunting me..t..teasing me...cutting me off from the world.." Jungkook speaks through his teeth, his hardening gaze fixed on Tanya's conflicted expression.

"I was wrong about you...there isn't more behind the huge lonely and desperate act you probably use to lure in your victims...there isnt more behind those big...gorgeous eyes..and perfect body that begged to be fucked...I see through that..now especially..."

Tanya is frozen beside him, giving no indication of interrupting him as he fought through his discomfort to speak.

"Beyond all of that..you're empty. Hollow... You're cold. I don't believe there was time where you were anything else. No one loves you. No one wants you. Despite your looks, you're lonely because of who you are..not what you are...I understand that now. So.... you had your fucking fun, alright? Just kill me, get it over with and be done so you can move on to your next victim..."

Her eyes widen at his candor, her gaze wounded slightly.

"Jungkook..."

"You really wanna help me? Burn me alive...Rip my throat out...Blow my fucking brains out..Do something! Theres gotta be something you can do besides just sitting there...I don't wanna go on like this Tanya...I would rather die a hundred more times than become like you..." He growls at her, his eyes darkening to the shade of coal and the veins at his cheek bones pulsed with anger.

Tanya stared at him warily, not even flinching at his outburst. Her expression remains nonplussed despite the alarming ache in her empty chest.

Not that anything he said about her was untrue. She was all of those things and more. And on any other occasion, she would have gladly obliged his requests for speaking to her the way he had.

On the contrary, Jungkook wasnt as wrong about her as he thought.

Yes she was alone. Unwanted. Unloved.

But it hadnt always been that way. Her life was taken from her much more brutally than his had and the longer she spent on her own, finding her way....

The less she dwelled on the fact that she'd been given no choice but to leave everything she loved behind because of who and what she'd become.

Driven by her blood lust, Tanya had forgotten how it felt to...feel anything. Starting small from the twinge in her torso at the way his lopsided smile spread across his face to the duality in his eyes.

Innocent one moment then sinful the next.

To the way he commanded her body, even if she allowed it.

He was special. He was perfect.

Now that she'd turned him, in a way they were bonded. Her venom's scent leaked from his pores and his scent was branded in her mind. Her newest obsession. The effect this young human had on her transcended the natural order.

For the first time in decades, Tanya wanted someone for herself and she'd be damned if she was going to allow him to squander the gift she'd given him.

Even if it meant he hated her, he would have time to come around.

It takes a moment for her to digest the words thrown in her face and she tears her eyes away from Jungkook's emboldened glare to begin scooting away from his trembling body.

She pauses.

"Either you make your first kill...or you will die. But not in the way you intend to. This is only the start of it but if you continue to deny it, your thirst will consume you and everything in it's path. If you don't kill, it will do it for you. So you choose...what type of monster you want to be. Because that's all you get now...." is all she says before turning away from him. Tanya climbs from the bed and exits the bedroom without saying another word.

Jungkook watches her go, his eyes shining with emotion before he closes them to allow his head to fall back into the pillows.

Week three...

To the surprise of many, especially of those abreast of mainstream vampire lore, Jungkook retained many of his more human attributes amid his gruesome transition.

Circadian rhythm being one of them.

Except now instead of his body being accustomed to being awake during the day and resting at night, he was now nocturnal.

Night after night he'd lay awake chained to Tanya's bed, hearing and smelling EVERYTHING around him.

Vehicles in traffic and the pollution they produced.
The shifting of the wind and the smells of street food carried with it.
An obnoxious amalgam of chattering beyond the four walls along with their variations of pulses.

Tanya told him that a time would come when he could tune most of it out.

But only if he was fed.

That would be his only saving grace it seemed.

To end his suffering, he had to end a life.

Another human trait he still possessed and was most thankful for was the ability to drift into unconsciousness at the rise of the sun. His favorite part of the day.

Partly because he hoped every time he closed his eyes, it would be for the last time. That maybe he would be the exception to Tanya's vampiric ideology that death for him wasn't going to be what he expected it to be.

Unfortunately, like clockwork, his body would jolt awake at the rise of the moon like evening primrose. Marking the start of another night filled with noise that he couldn't escape.

Another feature, and a rather unfortunate side effect, was his physical decline as a direct result of his refusal to feed.

Not only did he feel like he was dying, but Jungkook also looked like literal death as well.

His body was unrecognizable. His ribs protruded, his cheeks were sunken in and his muscles were less defined beneath his paling skin. His hair was dull and lifeless, thinning at the root to lay flimsy over his face.

Tanya was right.

Since he was resisting, he'd chosen to subject himself to his thirst by allowing the dead part of himself to feed on the parts of him that still lived.

If one would call it that.

She seldom spoke of how bad it would get, only telling him that he should stop being so stubborn so that it never would. As if that would ever happen. Jungkook just couldn't stop fighting. It didn't matter to him what she said and how horrid he felt.

He wasn't a killer.

This brings us back to the evening he regretted most...

In the evening he lost his humanity completely and became a full-blooded monster...
