Once upon a time, in a world ravaged by bombs, a girl was born for war.
The blood in her veins ran as black as the darkest night, and her eyes burned with green fire.

Not long after her own birth, another girl was born, this time among the stars. Cradled by freezing metal and orbiting above in the cold void of space, the moment they took their first breaths together, their fates were hopelessly tangled.

The girl from the ground was born for war, but by the time she was sixteen she was destined to bring peace.

She fought to bring her warring people to heel, and all but one clan fell into line soon enough. The last however, was ruled by a bitter deceiver who's tongue was sharp as a blade. They let their anger fester, and vowed to bring their new leader to her knees.

As the grounder girl commanded armies and shaped their politics, the girl from the stars was struggling to keep up with her peers. She was close enough to a position of power to resent, but far enough removed from it to be on her own when hurts were handed down.
Before long, one of the other kids started a fire in one of the stations of the massive ship they lived in, and she was blamed for it. And so the the girl from the stars fell from grace. It would hardly be the first time she fell, however. Those of you who know the stories know what happens next.
She fell again, with all the others, dropping through the clouds to change the lives of those from the ground forever.

Our grounder girl took charge of the situation immediately, putting these new Sky people in their place and using their knowledge to end her people's age old enemy. What she hadn't accounted for, however, was our star girl carving out a place in her heart for her own. The grounder girl knew her duty to her people had to come first, so in order to care for her fallen star, she must make her one of her people.

Once sky and earth became one, the star girl admitted her feelings for the grounder leader, and they too, were one. Their people's celebration carried on deep into the night, and for the first time in a long time, the girl from the ground let herself think of her own happiness.

But it was not to last. While the others celebrated, the last clan's resentment only grew, and one day, their leader attacked the grounder girl's contingent and kidnapped the girl from the stars. The betrayer squirreled her away in a fortress hidden in the snow, and bided their time. The grounder girl could not let this injustice stand, so she set out personally to hunt down the one she loved, and finish the betrayer once and for all.

While the girl from the earth looked high and low (much to the chagrin of her advisors), the girl from the stars was held captive and questioned. Every time she refused to give up her lover's secrets, she was tortured. But the betrayer had learned from their past mistakes, and did not kill her just yet.

Before long, the grounder girl found the betrayer's hiding place, and brought down her people's combined fury upon them, for the star girl had grown to be much beloved. Many lives were lost on both sides as the grounder girl fought her way through every obstacle to rescue her love. The betrayer, sensing their death arriving on swift feet, dealt a devastating blow to the bound star girl, and fled into the tundra.

They didn't get far. The grounder girl's right hand man caught and beheaded them, and the snow was stained with the blood of the betrayer.
And while her final enemy had been put to rest, the grounder girl cradled her love from the stars, and carried her swiftly to the nearest healer.
She rode through the night, her lover's life blood spilling from between her fingers.

When they arrived, she was pale as death and only inches from oblivion. By some miracle, the best healers in the territory pulled her back from the brink.

When the girl from the stars opened her eyes once more, her grounder love was waiting. And the kiss they shared would make even most stoic warrior blush. Reunited once more, the couple vowed to never leave each other's side.

And at last, true peace came over the land, and the girl from the earth and her lover from the sky lived happily ever after. The end.
