Previously, on Love bite   

"You're welcome Karl, I hope you feel better soon. Hey, maybe when you do get better, you, me, my brother Elliot, and your brothers could go hangout at some place" Luka tells him.

"Yes, that would be great, Alpha Luka" Karl says with a smile on his face.

"Okay guys I'm going to have to leave the duffel bag and the soup container here, but I'll come back and get them. Goodbye for now everybody" I tell them as we then open the door, and step out.

"Shall we?" I say, Luka nods, before we both shift and take off towards the pack hospital.

Now Sophie

When we walk into the hospital I find my aunt and Shelby waiting for us with concerned looks on their faces. "Hi you guys, how is she?" I ask the both of them.

"She's holding out for now at least but she's still bleeding badly. If we're going to do this, we need to move quickly. Luka, it's souly up to you, what do you want to do?" My aunt asks, turning towards him.

Luka then closes his eyes, and starts to think this over. "Luka, don't be taking all day, Misty doesn't have that long" Shelby says causing Luka to open his eyes and look towards her, he then looks towards my aunt.

"It's your choice Luka, it is your blood we're talking about after all" She tells him, he then looks towards me.

"I'm with my Aunt and Shelby on this one. It's your blood their going to be needing, so there for Luka, it's your choice, but whatever you decide to do, my Aunt Sherry, Shelby, the entire pack, and myself will be behind whatever you choose to do" I tell him.

Luka lets out a slight sigh. "I know you are Sophie, I just... I've never had the life of another person in my hands before, it's scary" He tells us, Luka then closes his eyes for another moment before he lets out a sigh and speaks again. "I want to go through with it, I want to give her my blood He says. "If Sophie was in her shoes and I couldn't give her blood, I would hope that someone would step in to help her. At this point it doesn't matter that she and her mate chased us all the way here. All I know is, she's been hurt, and it's the right thing to do."

"Very well then. Shelby, take him up to the lab, and draw the blood up ASAP" She tells Shelby, turning towards her. Shelby then nods her head. "Come on Luka" She says as she then turns around, motioning for Luka to follow her down the hallway.

"I'm right behind you" Luka tells her. Then he looks towards me. "I'll be back soon my love, take care" Luka says, as he then wraps his arms around my neck in a gentle hug.

"I will, be brave my Alpha" I say calmly.

"I will. I've been through worse Sophie, you know I have" He says, as we then break apart.

I then watch as Luka follows Shelby down the hallway, waving to me as he then turns a corner and heads towards the elevator. Those last words that Luka said jog something in my memory, and I see a vision of Luka back when I first saw him in the torture house after he spent three days at the hands of Ace Summers. I know that memory alone will give me nightmares, so I shake it out of my head causing it to vanish.

"What is it Sophie?" My aunt asks, looking slightly over towards me.

"Oh nothing, just lost in thought I guess. Anyways Aunt Sherry, can I see Misty? I mean you did say she is stable for now" I tell her.

My aunt just smiles it me. "Of course you can Little Sophie. Just hold up on asking her questions until we get that blood going into her, got it?" She asks firmly, and I nod. "Okay, let's go then."

...

When we are outside the door I stop when I hear the second greatest singing voice I have ever heard, the first one being my mother of course. The voice behind the door is distinctly male. It is pure and sweet, like pouring fresh caramel. I can tell from the sound of the voice that it's Colt's. I then look towards my Aunt, who gives me a nod of approval. I then open the door quietly, and step in.

Once inside I am met with the words to the song, along with the source. Colt's sitting in a chair at Misty's bedside skimming his thumb gently across the surface of the back of her hand, which is intertwined with his. Misty's laying in her bed breathing smoothly now, with Colt slightly hovering over her, singing to her softly.

Instead of ruining their little moment. I just stand back, keep quiet, and let the words of the song take me away.

After Colt finishes with the last few words he sits back in his chair, his hand never letting go of Misty's. I decide to let my presents be known, and knock on the wall. "Knock, knock" I say softly as I come further into the room.

Colt's head slowly rises, and he looks at me. "Oh, hey Alpha" Colt greets softly.

I then start to walk over towards the bed, my eyes fixed on Misty. Her skin is pale, almost paper white, I then look down, and see an even worse site. Misty's exposed stomach with a thick, white bandage wrapped all the way around it, which is slowly soaking through with every breath she breathes. I then shake my head to remove those images from my mind.

"Hi" I reply back, as I come up to him.

"How much of that little performance did you hear?" He asks.

"Pretty much all of it I should say" I reply, Colt then looks back down towards his sleeping beauty. I then look towards him, and let out a smile. "That sounded incredible, you have a true gift, where did you learn to sing like that?" I ask.

Colt then looks towards me, and gives me a guilty look. "I don't really know" He replies. "It's just that from the time I was very young, music became very natural to me, and I don't just sing, I can play piano, guitar, drums, trumpet, the triangle, and basically any other type of musical instrument you can think of, I can play it."

"Really?" I then ask him, sounding slightly stunned.

Colt then nods his head, before looking back down towards Misty. "Your Aunt, the doctor, just told me that Luka agreed to donate his blood to my Misty to save her life" He says, I then nod. "Why? We were sent to kill him, why would he want to save her life? Any normal Alpha wouldn't do that. Not even Alpha Ace would've done that, so why did he?" Colt asks, looking back up towards me.

"Because he's not just any normal Alpha" I tell him." Look Colt, he maybe an Alpha. However my mate knows when to hold a grudge, and when to do the right thing. Luka also doesn't want to see anybody get hurt that doesn't rightfully deserve it, and he even told me himself before Shelby took him up to the lab. He said that, if for any reason the tables were turned, and I was the one who needed blood and he couldn't give it. He would hope that someone would step up to the plate, and come to my aid. Luka knows that Misty's the center of your world, just like I'm the center of his."

Colt then smiles so big that I can see his back row of teeth. "He sounds like a sweet and kind guy, you're lucky to have him. Gosh, I can't believe we tried to kill him, I feel so guilty now" He then says, hanging his head low.

"Don't feel guilty. Besides, Misty's not the only one who's seen Ace's angry side" I tell him.

"Wait, what do you mean by that?" Colt then asks, sounding a bit curious.

I'm about to break down and tell him about when Luka was kidnapped by his former Alpha, but then the door to the room reopens and in walks my Aunt with Luka at her side, and Shelby carrying an I.v. bag filled with blood. Luka's face looks a little pale, and he's a bit wobbly on his feet as he walks.

I then turn towards my aunt. "What's wrong with him?" I ask her.

"Nothing's wrong Sophie, his body's just lost a whole pint of blood in one day, so he'll be a little out of it for a moment, just give his body a chance to adjust" She replies. "We actually had to give him an iron pill before we brought him back here."

"I swear Sophie, your boy has the purest blood around" I whip my head around to see Shelby hooking the bag of blood to the I.V. pole on the other side of Misty's bed, after she's done Shelby then gently taps on Misty's Shoulder. "Misty. Misty" She then says softly. Misty's brown eyes slowly flutter open, and she looks towards Shelby. "Misty, your bloods here. Now I'm just going to hook this up to your I.v. catheter, it won't hurt at all" Shelby tells her. Misty response with a nod and a slight whimper, then in less than a second Shelby connects the two ends together and the blood starts flowing.

After that Shelby steps aside, and Colt presses his lips softly to Misty's in a sweet kiss. I turn away, and look over towards Luka. Now that I'm looking hard enough, I can see that he has something in his hand. It looks like a food wrapper of some kind, I think to myself.

"Hey, "Luka, watch got there?" I ask, as Shelby walks behind me and pulls up a chair for Luka to sit down in.

"Cookie" He replies as my aunt guides him over and he sits down. Luka then takes the cookie out of the wrapper, and then breaks it in half. "Here, enjoy" He says, handing the other half over to me.

"Oh, thank you Luka" I say, taking it from him and popping it in my mouth. The flavor then bursts inside my mouth, in a storm of macadamia nut goodness. "Ooh, so fresh. Did you make these yourself Aunt Sherry?" I then ask her.

"Yes I did, I'm glad you two are enjoying them" She replies with a smile.

"Alpha" A female's voice croaks, I turn my head to see Misty looking at me from her bed. From the few seconds from the last time I saw her misty looks considerably better. Her speech is a little clearer, and her colors pinking up.

"Misty, hi, how are you doing?" I ask her.

She then smiles at me a little. "It's been a long couple of days Alpha, I'm just glad it's finally over' She replies.

"What's happened Misty, what's Ace planning? And don't say it's nothing. I know it's anything but nothing, because you told me yourself" I say.

"It's going to be bad" She replies.

"Is Ace going to attack the Emerald Stone Pack?" I then ask her, my heart up in my throat.

She then lets out a slight sigh. That can't be good, I think to myself. "Yes" She replies, and my heart sinks into my stomach and I feel sick.

"How long do we have?" I ask her, with panic all throughout my voice.

"Till the end of March, when the last of the winter snow melts. That's why Alpha Ace sent us after your mate before, he wanted to see if we could get the job done without using brute force, but when Colt and I failed, Alpha Ace Had to go with plan B" Misty tells me, she then turns towards Luka. "This is all your fault, if you hadn't taken Sophie away from Alpha Ace in the first place, your pack, your Alpha, and I wouldn't be in this mess" She tells him.

A lout growl escapes my lips and my eyes turn slightly yellow, and my heart rate quickens, as hot anger than floods my system. My Aunt and Shelby then take a step back, as I slowly take a step forward. At this point I don't care if Ace did attack and hurt her, I'll attack and hurt her twice as hard if she talks to my mate like that. Seeing my eyes, Luka looks over towards her.

"No, Misty, you've got it all wrong. I didn't still Sophie from Ace, I'm her true mate, and they were just dating when she found me" He tells her. I stop, and wait to see her reaction.

It's total shock. "Oh. Well, that's not what we feel when we see Alpha Ace" Misty says, her words taking me aback.

"What do you mean by that Misty?" I ask her, trying to calm myself down.

"Every time one of us connected our end of the mind link to his, we would feel the same, sadness, grief, and loneliness that he was feeling" Misty replies.

"Wait, why would Ace be feeling all those emotions?" I ask.

"He's depressed. We see the signs to, like how he can't seem to concentrate on anything, work included. He's hasn't been keeps himself clean, and his diet is terrible. Ace barely sleeps anymore, and when he does lay down he cries and moans the whole night until he finally falls to sleep, and to top it off. When he does get any work done he makes very poor decisions, that's how I got like this" She tells me.

"So Ace attacking you wasn't a regular thing?" I ask.

Misty shakes her head. "No, he never attacked any of us that didn't deserve it. Well, except for Alex of course. He was a kind Alpha, until you found Luka and he got depressed" She tells me.

"Why is he depressed Misty?" I ask her.

"Because when you were with him, he felt a connection, Alpha Ace described it as the best feeling in the world. So Alpha Sophie, as far as he knows, you are his mate. So when you dumped him, it felt like more of a rejection to him than a break up" She tells me. "And now..." I cut her off.

"He will stop at nothing to get me back" I say, she nods.

"And you know what Alpha Sophie, I think his depressions been getting worse ever since that day, the day you dumped him" She says.

This takes me aback. "Hey, it stopped" Misty says. My aunt and Shelby both look down towards the bandage on her belly, and see that her wound has stopped bleeding. I take this time to zone out.

Why would Ace's depression would be getting worse and worse every day since I've dumped him, I ask myself. Depression itself doesn't do that, and another thing is. How can an Alpha like Ace, as strong and as fit as he was change so suddenly, and fall apart and lose his temper so easily? Why is his anger still directed towards me and Luka after I told him it was over, any normal wolf would've taken it with a grain of salt and then moved on. Unless. I am snapped back into reality when a simple sounding question then enters my mind.

"Misty, does Ace have a mate of his own?" Please say yes. Please say yes, I think to myself.

"No, he doesn't" She replies, my eyes widen in fear.

"How old is he now Misty?" I then ask her. "I've lost track of time."

"Nineteen" She replies, and when those words leave her mouth, my heart sinks even lower down into my body. This isn't good, I think to myself. My aunt and Shelby then let out gasps. They must be thinking the same thing I am. My eyes then widen even more in fear, seeing this Luka speaks up.

"What's wrong Sophie?" He asks.

Ignoring him, I speak up. "I'm calling a pack meeting for everyone, at the house. Luka you're with me. Those who can't attend, turn the mind links on" I say as I turn on my heals, and start to walk out of the room.

"Uh...okay" Luka says, getting up from the chair and following me.

"Bye Misty feel better soon. I'll try to come by and see you later on today, if I can" I call back to her, as Luka and I walk up the hallway.

When we get outside, I shift into my wolf and break into a running sprint towards home, and Luka follows.

"What's wrong Sophie, what's going on" Luka asks in a whimper, running at my side.

"I'll tell you when the meeting starts, it'll be easier that way" I reply back in a grumble, as we run on.

Luka doesn't know it yet, but this rivalry between us just got a bit more drastic. Not just for me, but for Ace as well, and one way or another this rivalry is going to end with this one final battle.=====================================================        

Okay guys that was Chapter 15, hoped you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I wrote this chapter with the intention of having it start out like any other, but have somewhat of a twist and a somewhat of a cliffhanger, and as most of you know. I'm very good at that, I'm so evil. So did I put enough drama in it? I think I did, but what do you guys think? So we learned that there might be something wrong with Ace. I'm going to give you guys a little clue as to what it is, because I can't help myself. In the next chapter you're going to find out the dark side to being an Alpha.
