Chapter Twenty Nine
-Athena's POV-
I finished running checkups on everyone involved and pulled up the four cameras attached to the two runners, Flash and Kid Flash. Both had one camera on the front and one on the back.
"Let's go save Wally West," I announced. The two Flashes nodded and took off into the Speed Force. The cameras caught it -- luckily -- and everyone in the room was given a view of the Speed Force. It was just like Professor Zoom had described. There was a red tunnel with vibrant yellow shock bolts coming off it. The bolts looked very unstable, something I don't remember Zoom saying. I immediately guessed it was because there was a missing Flash.
"Okay, we're in the Speed Force," Barry reported. I looked down at my map and confirmed with what they were saying. As I looked back up, I noticed they had entered the tunnels.
"Take the right turn going at the desired speed. That tunnel is full of powerful energy, so be careful." Barry and Bart did as I told them. The cameras starting getting fuzzy and bright as they sped up.
"Hey, what's happening?" Artemis asked, worry filling her voice. I tried to stabilize the cameras, but it was all for not. In a matter of seconds, the cameras went black.
"The high energy shut off the cameras and microphones. It's up to them now," I didn't turn around from the monitors. I was hoping the cameras would magically turn off, but I of course knew they wouldn't.

-Bart's POV-
"Nightingale, come in. Hello?" Barry repeated into the microphones as we ran. Nothing. "Looks like we lost connection. We're on our own." I sighed as we broke out of the Speed Force.
We were what looked like the exact same place we started in, inside STAR labs. "It didn't work!" I shouted angrily. Everyone was gone and the monitors were off. I shoved through the door, feeling like I had a mountain pushing down on my shoulders. I realized I also walked a bit slower.
"Bart, wait!" Barry called. I stopped and looked up at him. He looked up at the sign to the labs. I followed his gaze.
"STAG labs?" I looked around at more of the place. Everything else looked the same. Something felt off, though. My head felt like it was going to explode from the massive headache I had. "Ugh," I moaned, sitting down.
"What's wrong?" Barry sat beside me and felt my forehead.
"My head hurts."
"I feel the pressure as well. I think we might actually be in the parallel universe. It would explain the amount of pressure effecting us," he said, "all the high amounts of energy." He grabbed my hand and led me behind a building. We changed into our normal clothes and approached a man.
"Where are we?" I asked.
"Pentral City, duh," he said, pushing past me.
"You mean Central City."
"What?" The man walked away, ignoring I even talked.
"I think you're right, but how are we going to find Wally?" I followed behind Barry as he walked a familiar path back to his house.
"Wally always talked about moving out of the dorms after college and moving near us. So, Iris would know," Barry said. We knocked on the door and out came Iris.
"Hey babe," she kissed Barry's cheek, "I thought you were going to the store?" She looked at us both weird. I smiled awkwardly as she continued to study us.
"Well, I wanted to take Bart to school and go to Wally's house, but I forgot the way. Can you give us directions?"
"Um...he just lives two blocks away. What's wrong Barry? You're acting weird..." Iris picked up her baby and cradled her in her arm. Barry smiled and looked at the child. He pulled back and took the directions Iris had written down. He grabbed my arm and led me away. "Barry! Barry! What's wrong!"
Barry ran quicker and quicker as he changed into his Flash costume. I did the same and kept up with him. He was silent and focused. "What happened back there?" I punched his shoulder to get his attention.
"That wasn't my kid. That wasn't your mom," Barry murmured, "she...she had blonde hair and brown eyes. Her nightie said Michala. I don't know who that was." I looked back at the house we left behind. Barry seemed really freaked out by the baby he saw and the baby he didn't see.
We traveled in silence until we arrived at a small house with a green door and pink shudders. We both knocked on the door and waited for an answer. I was holding my breath. I was scared for some reason. I didn't know what I was going to see. I didn't know if I was ready.
"I'll be right there!" We heard someone inside shout. After some noises from inside, the door opened. A girl with brown hair appeared. She had blue eyes and a small mole by her mouth. I didn't recognize her at first. She smiled at me and it hit me. That was Artemis. "Well, isn't this a nice surprise? Come inside!" She politely pulled us inside. Artemis, polite? It was weird.
"Wally! Barry and Bart are here!" She called. From around the corner came a redhead holding a brunette in his arms. A baby.
"Hey guys! I was playing with April." He spoke like everything was the same. My mouth dropped open as I felt my eyes getting watery.
"W-Wally," I stuttered, running for a hug. A teary eyed Barry joined in. We both squeezed so tightly, as if we weren't going to let go. "I missed you, Wally!" I cried.
"Okay, okay. I know it's been a few weeks, but you don't have to cry," he laughed, pushing us off. I looked down at the thing in his arms and gasped. It really was a baby. It looked like Wally.
"She's your baby," Barry said. Wally nodded happily. He grabbed Artemis and held her next to him.
"Our little April. She has grown a bit since you saw her," Wally kissed the baby's head and handed her to the brown-haired Artemis. "Why are you guys here anyway?"
For a moment, the happy smile on Wally's face almost made me want to leave him in this life of his. He was so happy. But, then it dawned on me that this was all a dream. This wasn't where Wally belonged. That wasn't Artemis. "We're taking you home," I finally said.
"Is that a joke? We're standing in my house right now," Wally laughed again. I shook my head.
"Wally, you don't belong here," Barry explained, "you aren't in the right universe."
"Oh, this is one of Bart's pranks to get back at me for the barbeque, I see," Wally patted my shoulder, "nice try."
"This is serious, Wally."
"What are you talking about? And why are you wearing your costumes? We all stopped being hero's after I almost died." Wally looked scared as he stood up. He backed up from us slowly. "Honey, put April somewhere safe," he called to Artemis.
"We aren't going to hurt you or your family. Come on Wally, you know this is wrong," Barry put his hand on his brother-in-law's shoulder.
"Don't touch me, Clayface. I don't know how you figured out my identity, but you're gonna wish you never did. And who's playing the part of Bart? A robot?" Wally pulled on a Flash ring and out came his Kid Flash costume. I was wearing the exact one. "Get out and turn yourselves in before I take you down."
"It's us, Wally!" I shouted, putting my hands up.
"I guess option two it is." He ran towards us and punched me in the face. Barry ran towards Wally and tried to stop him, but he ran quickly again and kicked him. "Too slow, Clay!"
"Wal, it's really us!" Barry chased Wally outside. They both fought as they both ran over a hundred miles an hour. I went to go outside to help Barry convince Wally, but something hit me. I looked down at my arm to see blood running down the yellow costume. I pulled out the green arrow that shot me. Following the arrow's flight path, I saw that fake-Artemis had fired.
"What the hell, Artemis!" I screamed, "or Fake Artemis!" Turning away, I dashed outside to catch up with my two family members. Arrows shot past my ear as I came around behind Wally. He didn't miss a beat and punched my jaw. I quickly dodged another attack from him as Barry swiped at his feet. Wally fell to the ground as Artemis kept shooting.
"Are you okay, Bart? You're bleeding," Barry held Wally down and stared at my arm.
"Fine, let's get Wally."
"Not on my watch!" Artemis shot another arrow, barely grazing the back of my costume. I panicked and stood up. Wally shoved Barry off of him and turned his arms into spinning punching machines as he made his arms move as fast as light. Barry was hit over and over until looking at me.
"Tornado Time, now!" He ordered. I nodded and recognized the call. We both ran in a circle with Wally in the middle. We ran so quickly that the air in the middle was sucked away. We heard the chokes of Wally as he passed out. After he went under, we grabbed his unconscious body and ran away. He couldn't fight back.
"Wait! You can't take him!" A crying Artemis shouted as we ran back into the Speed Force. I had to keep telling myself that the Artemis -- the brunette one -- was fake.
Once we were running though the Speed Force again, Wally woke up. He squirmed out of Barry's arms. "Wh-why did you do that?" He whispered, crying. He collapsed inside the tunnel, forcing us to stop. "Just kill me for real." I could barely hear what he was saying because he was so weak. I tucked his arm around my neck and truly felt how close to death he really was. Wally's arms were like noodles. He was limp; barely even moving.
"Come on, Wally. You have to run," Barry encouraged, pulling him as we tried to get to the right speed. The negative energy in the Speed Force started to attack us the longer we stayed. Barry started getting nervous as Wally refused to move.
"Wally! If you don't run, you're gonna kill us all!" I punched Wally in the arm hard. He sighed and laid back.
"Good," he mumbled.
"You want us to die? Your real family? Those people back there were fake, Wally! Think about, we lived in Central City! Barry's baby wasn't named Michala! And for god's sake, Artemis has blonde hair! Think Wally! Remember your real life! The one you left a year and a half ago! Remember the real Artemis, the sassy one! She would never of let us go! Wally, that was a paradox!" I whined, practically screaming in his face. He was silent for a moment. He opened his eyes, something familiar finally in his eyes.
"My little spitfire," Wally said, standing up, "let's go." He began running. He was slow and was tripping a lot. Barry and I both held him up as he struggled to run. I closed my eyes as we blindly tried to get back to our world.
A bright white flash blinded me as all three of us landed on hard concrete. I looked up to see Nightingale looking down at me. We made it.

-Athena's POV-
They made it. Dick, Connor, and Artemis shoved the weak Wally into the container as I flipped it on. Energy flowed out of Wally as he screamed in pain. "What's wrong with him!?" Artemis ran beside me.
"It hurts to get energy sucked from you. It's okay, it's over," I reassured her as the machine was done. Wally lied limp against the glass cage. He was breathing heavily with his eyes closed. The door opened and he tumbled out. Artemis caught him in her arms before his head hit the floor.
"W-Wally?" She looked down in disbelief. Everyone did.
~~~~~~~~~~~Perspective changes! See, that one was 2000 words! School tomorrow, I'm glad I got this up. Well, only one more chapter involving Wally's rescue and then back to mainly Nightwing/Nightingale. That whole part is basically about getting the Team's trust, if you couldn't tell Athena's motives. Vote, comment, and follow if you aren't already!~~~~~~~~~~~~~
