Max's POV

I use all the willpower I have left to look concentrated during Jefferson's class, but my head is in the clouds thinking about Chloe. I can't describe the feeling I had when she kissed me. Wait I can.

I felt warm, save, happy but also scary... I was scared it was just the booze that made her kiss me and that it would be awkward afterwards. I still can't believe she likes me back.
I think it's more of a guilt feeling for just leaving her for 5 years.
When I think about it I have been a bitch, I never called or let her now anything.
We both changed so much, we did but Arcadia didn't. It still feels like my home.
Not going to lie I missed Arcadia I'm happy to be back.
The school bell rings and rips me out of my daydream.
I shove all my stuff in my bag not even caring about the mess it will probably make and I rush out the door.
As promised Chloe is standing in front of the school's entrence. I can't help but smile by seeing her blue hair and smug face.
She lifts her head as I approach the truck and gives me a warm smile but it soon fades to the usual pissed of face when she looks at something behind me.

Someone grabs my arm and turns me around. Warren?
I see Brooke behind him looking really angry at me.
He pulls me towards him and kisses me. I immediatlly push him away.
"Now you know how it feels!" Warren screams at Chloe in a very drunk voice.

Chloe's eyes spit fire at Warren. She charges and full on hits him in the face.
I could hear her knuckles crack hitting Warren's jaw.
Warren falls on the ground as Chloe screams down on him,"I'm going to fucking kill you!!"
Chloe pulls her leg back ready to kick him in the gut. But Brooke jumps infront of her and Chloe puts her leg down.
I put my hands on Chloe's shoulders and push her a bit back. She doesn't even look at me she keeps staring at Warren who is covering his jaw. He's bleeding from his nose and one of his teeth lays in the puddle of blood that's dripping out of his mouth.
I put my hands on Chloe's ears and move her head so her eyes make contact with mine. When our sights lock the hatered and disgust in her eyes soon changes to regret. She grabs my hand and guides me to her truck.
We both get in and when we drive away I take a quick look at Warren. A crowd surrounded him trying to either help him or take pictures of the damage Chloe did to his face.
Chloe is cluching her stearing wheel so hard her scraped knuckles start slightly bleeding. I put my hand on her shoulder and instantlly she relaxes. I wonder what she's thinking right now.

Chloe's POV

I'm so fucking pissed, I feel like crashing this car right into a tree. I never have been good with expressing my emotions. How could that little fuckboy do that to Max.
To be honest I did hit him because Max is MY girlfriend. Next time I might acctually kill the fucker.

I hope he doesn't come with the great idea to do that ever again.
My knuckles are bleeding and they look pretty busted but I feel fine.
That's a lie I'm not fine, I don't know why but I'm sad about what just happend.

I don't know if it is because I just beat up Max's best friend or that I lost total control over myself.

I didn't even realize I was going total berserk on Warren untill Max snapped me out of it by making me force to look into her eyes.
I look at her and she has a worried look on her face.
"I..I'm sorry I don't know what got into me." I apologise.
"No he deserved it"
"Then what are you worried about?"
"You" She looks right into my eyes and I feel a sharp pain in my chest.
I don't reply, I don't know how to.
Max puts her hand on my shoulder again and says," Warren will be fine, thanks for standing up for me."
It was more then just standing up for her I was so filled with rage that if Brooke didn't jump infront of him I would've killed him.
I used to be able to deal with my emotions now I'm just unstable.
I try to smile at Max but I can't I'm not proud of what I did.
When I see the forest line that leads to the lighthouse something warm goes through my body.
This place, me and Max used to hang out here all the time. Instead of driving to the diner I stop at the forest.
Max stares at the forset line with big eyes as if we were kids again.
"Want to have some nostalgic feelings"
"We used to hang out here all the time when we tried to conquer Arcadia bay as pirates."
"First mate Max are you ready to be a pirate once more."
Max smiles and chuckles,"Aye aye captain Chloe" She salutes me and we both get out of the car.
I take her hand and together we walk into the forest.

After a few miles of recapping our youth and laughing about how gullible we used to be Max stops walking.
Confused by her sudden stop I ask her what's wrong.

"I just...nothing" She does that sigh on the end. I know something is up when she does that.

I look her in the eyes and ask it again," What is wrong Max?"
"It's just we have changed so much, and I don't understand how you could forgive me so easily for leaving you behind for all those years!"
"That's all in the past, yes it did hurt when you left and yes I was so fucking angry at you for never calling or texting."
Max her expresion changes drastically. That probably wasn't the right thing to say. I hold her against me and whisper in her ear," But the most important thing is that you came back, I'm hella in love with you Max and I don't ever want to loose you again."
Max wraps her arms around me and holds me tight.
I look up at the sky and see that the sun is about to go down. I grab Max her hand and we rush towards the light house.
"Why are we running" max says between breaths.

"We are not missing the golden hour besides you still need a photo for the every day heroes contest this is the perfect spot."
As we arrive at the lighthouse I stop for a moment to take it all in.
I release Max's hand and walk a little closer to the cliff not controlling my own movement, I just walk.
The sunset is beautifull.

Max's POV

Chloe looks at the sunset in silence. Her blue hair moves like a wave with this small breeze.
She looks so peacefull. It's as if no one else is here it's just her in her own thaughts.
I grab my camera and take a picture of Chloe beeing in her own little world.
She turns around because of the flash and looks at me with a lovely smile.
"I think I found my everyday hero" I say as I walk towards Chloe.
When I stand right infront of Chloe she seductively asks," Ow yeah who is it"
Her smile gives me a warm feeling, I look into her eyes and whisper.
"You"
She kisses me softly and for a moment I could swear time stood still.

As promised here is an extra long chapter. You guys might have to wait a while for the next one since school starts again and I'm going to be drowning in homework but hang in there I will keep uploading but it will take longer thanks to my responsibilities -.-
