Continuation of previous chapter :
Bani's mind voice : God, I'm getting a signal from you. I know you are calling me there. May my soul rest in peace after dying from my husband's hands. I'm coming there, God. Open the gates of heaven for me.
After some time, Bani turned to look at Veer since he was being silent for longer than usual. She saw him staring at the ceiling which indicated that he was involved in deep thinking. She frowned and tapped on his shoulder to which he shifted his eyes from the ceiling to her.
Bani : Where are you lost?
Veer : Hmm sweetheart, since you are being so honest to me, I think I should be honest to you too.
Bani : What do you mean? (She straightened up, wrapping the sheets around her and Veer also repeated her actions)
Veer : Listen, don't freak out okay? Just take it easy as I did.
Bani : Stop exaggerating and tell me what you wanted to say. (She insisted impatiently)
Veer : Hmm to be honest, I went out for a date too when we were apart. (He muttered slowly with his head hung in guilt)
Bani's eyes widened and she clenched her fists, gritting her teeth angrily.
Bani : What did you just say? Repeat them again!
Veer : See, you don't have to freak out when you did the same too. I just went for a date and that's it. (He shrugged)
Bani : With who?
Veer : You don't know her. She is someone I met through instagram.
Bani lost the tiny level of patience she was holding on and instantly grabbed his neck with her both hands.
Bani : How dare you!!! (She growled) I insisted the time apart for us to realise the worth of each other but not to go on stupid dates with stupid girls out there!! (She yelled at him)
Veer removed her hands from his neck and raised his eyebrow at her mockingly.

Veer : You are talking as if you never went for any date like I did. Come on, it's just a date. I didn't kiss her or allowed her to kiss me like you did. (He scoffed at her)
Bani : Stop it! Don't ever compare yourself with me! I never went for any date and never let any man to kiss me. (She snapped at him with tears flowing down her eyes)
Veer : But you just told me that you- (He was cut by her)
Bani : No! I lied to you. In fact, that day it was just a prank pulled by me and Sid. He purposely acted like asking me about my date on the call near your study that day. It was all my plan. I just wanted to tease you but I never thought you would take it so seriously until you could go for a date with another girl. You cheated me, Veer! I trusted you so much but you just broke- (She stopped when she saw him smirking at her)
Veer : Why did you stop? Come on, go ahead with your drama. Say that I trusted you so much Veer but you cheated me by going for a date and etc. (He mimicked her)
Bani quickly wiped her tears and rubbed her nose, sniffling softly.
Bani : So you also lied to me right?
Veer : Nope. I really went for the date with a beautiful, hot chick. (He shrugged nonchalantly)
Bani : No, you are lying. Please tell me the truth, Veer. (She sniffled again as tears flowing down from her eyes)
Veer : Oh God! Stop being a cry baby, Bani. Okay I lied to you. Happy now? Why do you always begin with waterworks to melt my heart? (He grumbled with a pout)
Bani : Why did you lie then?
Veer : Because I wanted you to taste your own medicine for fooling me with that nonexistent date story.
Bani : Hmm wait, how and when did you find out that I lied to you? (She asked with wide eyes to which Veer chuckled at her)
Veer : I knew it from that day itself. Your dumb brother always proves that he doesn't have a brain inside him. He just walked few steps away from my study and called you again to inform you but fortunately I heard the whole conversation and found out that you both were playing tricks on me.
Bani : Oh God! He is so stupid. He just ruined my whole plan.
Veer : Yeah, like brother like sister. You are a stupid too. You know how possessive I can be yet your stupid conscience refused to realise why I was not freaking out much when I asked you about the date.
Bani : Yeah right? I'm so dumb. (She hit her own head with a pout)
Veer : And cute too. (He chuckled, pulling her both cheeks)

They both spent three days there to explore the Melbourne city and finally departed for India after receiving a call from Bani's mom who asked them to return as they were going to celebrate Meera's baby shower that weekend. They reached Sharma mansion first to greet their parents as Ballu and Chandu were also there with Bani's family.

Everyone cheered up at the sight of Vani walking in together hand in hand. Bani greeted everyone by hugging them one by one and Veer made faces as they didn't acknowledge his presence much compared to Bani.
Veer : Am I invisible to you all now? (He frowned)
Tapish : Huh? Princess, can you see Veer anywhere here? I feel like I just heard his voice but I can't find him anywhere. (He said, looking around the room to search for Veer)
Veer : Bhai!!! (He whined)
Tapish : See, I can hear him again. Where is he?
Veer stomped his foot and everyone laughed at him but Tapish was still pretending like searching for Veer.
Tapish : Why are you guys laughing? Where is Veer?
Bani : Stop it, bhai. You are teasing him too much.
Tapish : What? I'm not teasing him I really can't find him here. Mom, dad, can you both see Veer here? No right?
Chandrakala : Tapish, stop teasing my son. He's looking like he's going to cry soon. (She chuckled and Veer glared at her)
Veer : Okay, fine! No one can see me right so why should I stay here? I'm leaving.
Saying this, he turned to leave but Bani quickly grabbed his hand to stop him.
Bani : Veer, just ignore him. Please don't go without me. (She pouted)
Tapish : Bani, whom are you talking to?
Veer : Bhai! You are so dead today! (He climbed on Tapish and wrapped his arm around Tapish's neck to choke him)
Tapish : Ahhh, Veer!! I'm sorry I won't do that again. Leave me! I can't breathe. (He begged and Veer left him)
Veer : Now you can see and feel me right? Or you want me to give you one more demo to prove my presence here?
Tapish : No, that's enough I can see you now. God, that was so violent. I know it's the impact of being this devil's husband. She is influencing you way too much, Veer. Better stay away fro.... ouch!!! (He whimpered when Bani punched on his stomach)
Meera : Oh My God! (She placed her palm on her mouth) Don't do that to him please. Why are you both hitting him? (Tears formed her eyes and everyone's head snapped towards her direction)

Everyone was staring at Meera who was crying in a weird manner due to her mood swings when Tanvi and Chandrakala quickly rushed to her.
Tanvi : No Meera, they are just playing. He is not hurt at all. Stop crying, dear. (She caressed her hair)
Tapish : Meera, I'm not hurt. See here I'm absolutely fine. They were just teasing me.
Meera : Are you sure? You are not hurt right? (She asked, wiping her tears)
Tapish : No, I'm not. (He smiled and took her to their room)
Bani : Did we overreact in front of bhabhi?
Chandrakala : Yes, you did. Don't ever hit him again in front of her. At least not until she gives birth to the baby. We can't guess her mood swings so better don't hurt her.
Veer : Okay, mom. We're sorry.
Tanvi : That's alright. She will forget it soon. Bani, take him to your room and rest for a while. We have to go for shopping later.
Bani : Shopping? Really? Then why are we wasting our time now? Let's go now, mumma.
Chandrakala : You are not tired? Don't you get jet lag flying for more than 20 hours?
Veer : Why would someone get tired when they slept for the whole 20 hours? (He rolled his eyes)
Aayush : What? Seriously?
Bani : No, papa. I did not sleep for whole 20 hours. I just slept for 14 hours and 45 minutes but this idiot woke me up saying I slept too much and he was getting bored there. (She shrugged and everyone chuckled at her)
Veer : Okay ladies, have a great time at the shopping. See you all later. I'm going to sleep now. (Saying this, he tried to move away but Bani grabbed his hand)
Bani : Where are you going, patidev? You are coming with us to the shopping so go and get ready now.
Veer : What the hell? Sweetheart, I really need to sleep so please leave me. I didn't get to sleep properly during the travel. (He pulled his hand back)
Chandrakala : No excuses, Veer. You have to come with us or else who's going to carry our shopping bags.
Veer : I'm not your servant, mom. Carry your bags yourselves.
Bani : No, you have to come with us. Ladies, he will come with us. Just give me 5 minutes, I will get ready and come back. (Saying this, she smiled sheepishly at everyone and pulled Veer along with her to the room)
Tanvi and Chandrakala also went to Tanvi's room to get ready leaving Aayush and Balwant there.
Balwant : Thank God, we escaped today.
Aayush : Yes. (He chuckled)

The three enthusiastic ladies along with cranky Veer arrived at a famous designer boutique in Mumbai.
Chandrakala : Bani, you and Veer go to the clothing section while we will go to the accessories section.
Bani : Okay, mom.
Tanvi : Bani, I have already informed the designer, Mrs Riya about Meera's preference so your job is to just select the best one among them.
Bani : Alright, mumma. Come let's go, Veer. (She held his hand and dragged him with her)
Once they entered the dress section, Bani was looking around for Mrs Riya and found her walking towards her with a gracious smile.
Riya : Hello, Bani. How are you?
Bani : I'm fine, aunty. Veer, this is Mrs Riya, the famous designer and the owner of this boutique too. And aunty, this is Veeranshu, my husband. (She introduced while wrapping her arm around Veer's arm)
Riya : Hello, Veeranshu. Nice to meet you.
Veer : Hello, Mrs Riya. Nice to meet you too. (He forced a smile as he was too tired to react)
Riya : Bani, come with me I will show the dresses I picked for your sister-in-law.
Bani : Okay, aunty. Veer, you wait here. (Saying this, she followed Riya leaving Veer alone there)
Veer's mind voice : Crazy women. Why did they bring me here if they wanted to shop themselves? I wonder how many hours more I have to waste here in waiting for them. (He sighed exasperatedly, finding a place to sit and play a game in his mobile)
Within few minutes, Bani returned back to Veer and dragged him with her to help her to choose the best dress as mentioned by her mom.
Veer : Sweetheart, how do I know about these maternity dresses? Either select yourself or get help from any ladies here but don't disturb me please.
Bani : No, I have chosen 4 dresses here but just help me to choose the best one among them. Please, Veeruuuu.
Veer : Where is the designer? Ask her to help you. (He rolled his eyes)
Bani : She has gone to check on the other customers as well. You help me here please baby. Please please please!!! (She made a puppy face and Veer sighed before nodding at her)
Veer : Could you please enlighten me what's the difference between these 4 dresses? All of them are looking same.
Bani : No, see here this one has long-sleeves with embroidered edges and this one is off-shoulder with stones and- (She was cut by him)
Veer : Okay, enough. I don't want to know anything about it. Let me choose first.

He analysed the 4 dresses for a good 1 minute and selected one of them before showing it to Bani.
Veer : How's this?
Bani : Wow Veer!!! That's so beautiful. Even I chose the same too. I just wanted to check your taste that's why I asked you to choose the dress. Not bad, huh? You are having a good dress sense. (She pulled his cheek, making him glare at her)
Veer : Okay, it's over right? Come let's pay the bill and leave. I'm so tired.
Bani : No, wait! I haven't choose a dress for me. I don't have any new dress to wear for the baby shower.
Veer : But you just bought a dress at Melbourne two days ago.
Bani : That's not suitable for this function. Come, let's go there. (She dragged him with her again)
They both were selecting dress for Bani when a woman in her early 50s walked to them. She tapped on Bani's shoulder and Bani turned to her. The woman introduced herself as Shilpa, one of Tanvi and Chandrakala's close friend.
Bani : Oh hi, aunty. (She smiled awkwardly as she couldn't remember seeing her before)
Shilpa : Did you forget me? I'm sure you did that's why you couldn't recognise me. I have attended your wedding reception too. It has been almost 1 and a half year, right?
Veer : Yes, aunty. You are right.
Shilpa : So how's your married life? You both were friends since childhood, weren't you? I'm sure there won't be any problem between you two.
Bani looked at Veer with her eyebrow raised questioningly and Veer smiled at her before nodding at Shilpa.
Shilpa : So tell me how's your married life? Do you guys have any problem?
Bani's mind voice : Why? Is she working as a marriage counselor? Why the hell she is showing too much interest in my married life?
Veer : We don't have any problem, aunty. Even if we have any problem also we are capable of solving it on our own as we both are mature enough to deal with each other. (He smiled at her genuinely)
Shilpa : Oh wow that's great. So is there any good news? When are you guys planning for your first baby? I know, nowadays married couples are being so neglectful. They are afraid to make babies so they delay the process unnecessarily and then regret when they aren't able to conceive after crossing their 30s. I just hope you guys are not like that. Do not waste your time. And also beta, you don't worry about your beauty and figure all like most of the girls from this generation do. Make sure plan for a baby or two before you reach your 30s. (She commanded in a serious tone)
Bani's jaw dropped and she stared at the aunty with wide eyes whereas Veer smiled at her, pulling Bani closer to him by her waist.
Veer : Yes, we have already planned for our first baby. In fact, she is already pregnant with our first child. Am I right, sweetheart? (He asked Bani with an innocent face and she just choked on her saliva)
Shilpa : Oh really? OMG I'm so happy for you both. (She squealed like a teenage girl) But there's no glow on her face and I can't see her tummy also. (She frowned)
Bani's mind voice : What in the hell is going on here? When did I get pregnant without my knowledge?
Veer : I'm not sure about the glow, aunty, but she is in her second month now so yeah. (He explained, caressing Bani's stomach to which she stared at him with her big round eyes)
Shilpa : Oh okay beta. I will tell you about the dos and don'ts during the first trimester..... (And just like that she continued her long lecture about pregnancy to a non-pregnant Bani)

Bani felt like pulling Veer's hair for letting her stuck with this woman whereas Veer was trying his best to control his laughter. Shilpa finally left the place after advising Bani for more than half an hour. Bani didn't waste a single minute in punching Veer after Shilpa left.
Veer : Ouch! What was this for?
Bani : Idiot! When did I get pregnant, huh? Who the fuck asked you to lie to her? (She yelled at him)
Veer : Shhh, lower your volume. Don't curse in front of people.
Bani : I swear I will kill you once we get back home. First of all, why did you lie to her that I'm pregnant? What if she tells this to our moms?
Veer : Come on, I was just kidding there but I didn't expect her to take such a long lecture on your nonexistent pregnancy. (He giggled, caressing her stomach again to earn another punch from Bani)
Bani : Shut up! You just spoiled my mood. I don't want to stay here anymore.
Veer : Really? Shall we go back home now? (He asked excitedly)
Bani : Fuck off! (She stomped on his foot and walked away)
