Veer and Bani reached back home after their long drive at 8pm. Bani was asleep by the time they reached their home.
Veer : Bani, wake up. We have reached our home. (He patted her cheeks but she didn't budge)
Veer got down from the car and came to Bani's side to open the door. He unfastened her seatbelt and started patting her cheeks more but she didn't respond.
Veer : Baby, faster wake up. We are at home already. (He caressed her hair)
Veer's mind voice : Is she really sleeping? Usually she will respond when she is in deep sleep but today she is sleeping too much.
Veer stared at her face for a while and Bani slowly opened her one eye when she realised he had stopped calling her. He noticed her and she quickly closed her eye.
Veer's mind voice : I was right. This drama queen is acting like she's sleeping now. Ufff, Bani Sharma I will show you my acting skills now. (He smirked naughtily)
Bani's mind voice : He caught me? I guess he didn't. Why he is not doing anything until now? Is he planning to leave me in the car the whole night?
Her chain of thoughts broke when she felt herself being picked up from the car. She knew it was Veer who was carrying her in his arms. She giggled inwardly and continued acting like she was asleep.

Veer carried her inside the mansion.
Veer's mind voice : God, please make sure grandma to not be on our way. If she sees me carrying Bani like this then she will definitely fry both of us for misbehaving in front of elders. (He kept praying while walking inside)
But unfortunately, God didn't hear his prayers as the Hitler and his parents were sitting in the living room. They anyhow need to pass by them to reach their room.
Veer's mind voice : Shit!!! everyone is here now. I'm roasted for sure. Arghhh this Bani is now only trying to show her acting skills without knowing the situation. How am I going to answer them now?
It was Chandrakala who first saw Veer and Bani in his arms entering the hall.
Chandrakala : Veer, what happened to Bani? (She immediately rushed towards them)
Hearing her voice, grandma and Balwant turned to look at the direction where Chandu was going. Grandma's eyes widened in shock while Ballu panicked looking at the way Veer carried Bani but little did they know, both Veer and Bani were acting there.
Balwant : Veer, what happened to my daughter-in-law?
Veer : Mom and dad, please don't get panicked. Hmm actually she fell asleep while we're coming back home so.... (He hesitated as grandma was glaring at him)
Grandma : What??? She fell asleep and you are carrying her all the way from car till here? What does she think of herself? A baby is it? You can't wake her up, huh? (She yelled)
Bani's mind voice : My husband is carrying me. Why does she care? Jealous woman!
Veer : Hmm no grandma actually she was having headache just now so that's why she fell asleep in the car. If I wake her now then again she will suffer with headache so I just want her to take rest first.
Bani's mind voice : Oh my dear husband, you are too sweet yaar. I'm falling in love with you again and again. What a great liar you are. Proud of you.
Balwant : Okay, Veer. You take her inside first. Take care of her. (He caressed Bani's hair and went away)
Grandma : I'm telling you, this is too much Veer. Stop pampering your wife too much. She is not a baby for you to carry her all the way from outside till your room. We elders are staying in this house too so learn to maintain your privacy first. (Veer lowered his head as he had no idea what to reply her)
Chandrakala : Veer, you take her inside first. (She signalled him to go now as to avoid getting more lecture from grandma)
Veer : Okay, mom. (He nodded and started climbing up the stairs to go to their room)

At Vani's room :
Bani slightly opened her eyes when she heard the twisting sound of door knob. She realised they are in their bedroom now. She was mentally dancing for making Veer carry her all the way from their car to their bedroom despite getting scolded by grandma. Her inner giggles stopped abruptly when Veer threw her on the bed harshly.

Bani : Ahhhhh!!! Fuck! My back! (She whined, rubbing her back)
Veer : Oh now my Mrs is fully awake. (He mocked)
Bani : Ouch idiot! Why did you throw me like that? I'm not a toy. (She complained)
Veer : Then what do you think about me? A forklift is it? You made me carry you from a long distance and as additional reward, I got scolded by grandma too.
Bani : That's none of my business. Who asked you to carry me? You should've woken me up once we reached home.
Veer : Oh really? How am I supposed to wake someone who was pretending to be asleep? (He snapped back and Bani's eyes popped out from her socket)
Bani : What? Who was pretending? I was really sleeping until you threw me on the bed like a ruthless monster. I was even dreaming about our honeymoon too but you spoiled it.
Veer : What did you say? Ruthless monster? Do you know what can a ruthless monster do? (He smirked while staring at her like a predator target at its prey)
Bani gulped looking at him and moved backward on the bed. Veer instantly jumped on her and hovered over her.
Bani : What are you doing? (She asked, pushing him away)
Veer grabbed her both hands and pinned them above her head on the bed.
Veer : Push me now. Come on, push me.
Bani : Leave my hands. Ahhhh!!!!! (She screamed and he quickly shut her mouth with his palm)
Veer : Shhh, lower your tone. They can hear us.
Bani stared at him with wide eyes when Veer slowly removed his palm from her lips and leaned forward. She closed her eyes, waiting for his lips to touch hers but unexpectedly instead of kissing her, he started tickling her at her waist.
Bani : Hahaha... Veer leave me please ahhh... Hahaha... Please..
Veer : No way! This is your punishment today. (He tickled her even more and their room filled with Bani's giggles and shouts)
Bani : Please leave me Veer. I can't anymore... Hahaha..leave.. Haha. (She begged him but he didn't show any mercy on her)
Veer : Say sorry first then I will leave you. (He demanded while tickling her)
Bani : Why? Hahaha....okay sorry...leave...please.
Veer : Okay good girl. (He pecked on her lips and moved aside)
Bani was panting heavily for laughing too much. After some time, Chandrakala came there to check on Bani and then invited them to have their dinner.

The next day, Bani woke up at 8 in the morning due to the alarm clock. She turned off the alarm and looked beside her but it was empty.
Bani : Veer? Are you in the washroom?
No response.
Bani : Where is he? It's just 8 o'clock. (She frowned)
She took her phone and dialled Veer's number. He answered it in the second ring.
Veer : Hey sweetheart, good morning.
Bani : Idiot, where are you? Why you didn't wake me up? Where the hell are you now? Answer me. Why are you silent now? (She scolded)
Veer : Baby, I just wished you good morning only. Why are you barking now?
Bani : I'm not a dog to bark! (She barked again)
Veer : You are a human who can bark like dogs. (He chuckled)
Bani : Veeranshu!! (She shouted)
Veer : Woah, calm down dear. I'm just teasing you. Relax. Close your eyes first, take a deep breath and listen to me.
Bani did as he said. She took a deep breath and opened her eyes.
Bani : Okay, tell me now. Where are you?
Veer : I'm at office now. We had an important meeting at 7am so dad and I came here by 6:30am.
Bani : What? Meeting at 7am? Are you people crazy or what? Office hour starts at 9am but you guys went for the meeting at 7am?
Veer : See, this is why I asked you to come to the office with me. You don't even know what's going on here. The Italian delegates are going back by 10am flight so we had to prepone the meeting at 7am. Are you clear now?
Bani : Oh okay. I'm clear now. When are you coming back home?
Veer : I don't know. I will let you know later. You go and take your bath first.
Bani : Okay, Veeru. Bye. (She cut the call and went to take her bath)

Bani got ready and went downstairs searching for her mother-in-law. She searched the whole house and realised that she's alone there.
Bani : What happened to all of them today? Why everyone left me alone here? (She frowned and decided to call her mother-in-law)
Chandrakala : Hello?
Bani : Mom, where are you now? I'm searching for you here.
Chandrakala : I'm sorry dear, your mom and I came to visit the NGO here. We will be back within two hours. The breakfast is ready. Ask the servants to serve you.
Bani : Only you and mumma? How about grandma? Where is she?
Chandrakala : She is in her room there, Bani. You haven't meet her yet?
Bani : What????? (She almost yelled)
Chandrakala : Ahhh Bani, you gonna tear my eardrum.
Bani : It means you all left me alone with the Hitler here? Are you planning to kill me? (She asked in terrifying tone)
Chandrakala : Ufff dear, she is not going to eat you. Just relax. If you are feeling bored, go and pull her leg to get free lecture. (She chuckled)
Bani : You know what? If there's an option to divorce the mother-in-law then surely I would divorce you as soon as possible.
Chandrakala : Oh, your bad luck. There's no such option. (She giggled)
Bani : I hate you mom! Bye! (She cut the call angrily)
Bani's mind voice : Bani, you are dead today. They all left you alone with the Hitler. Prepare a coffin for yourself and write a goodbye letter to your family members. (She sulked and went to have her breakfast)

At 10am, Bani was roaming around the house as she was getting bored. She called her mother-in-law again but she said they will take more time to come back home. Veer didn't answer her call too so she started roaming the house to pass the time. After some time, she finally decided to check on grandma as she didn't come out of her room since morning.

At grandma's room :
Bani slowly peeked through the door which was already open to look for the grandma. She saw her sitting on the bed, holding something in her hand. She zoomed in her eye lens to find out what she was holding. It was a photo frame.
Bani's mind voice : What is she doing with the photo frame? Shall I go in and ask her about it? (She tapped her chin) No Bani, just mind your own business. Don't go near her. (After few seconds) But I'm too curious to know about it. I think I will go in.
She knocked the door twice but the Hitler was still staring at the photo frame. She decided to call her.
Bani : Grandma ji, can I come in?
Grandma turned and looked at Bani. She kept the photo frame beside her and nodded, giving her permission to enter.
Bani : Good morning, grandma ji.
Grandma : You just woke up? (She asked in a stern tone)
Bani : No, grandma ji. I woke up at 6am and sent off Veer and uncle ji to the office. (She lied)
Grandma : Okay. Why are you here now?
Bani : I just came to see if you need anything to eat or drink, grandma ji. (She smiled sheepishly)
Grandma : I don't need anything. If I want also I will get it myself. (She said rudely)
Bani : Oh okay, grandma ji.
Bani's mind voice : What should I do now? I really need to know whose photo is that or else my head will explode in curiosity.
Grandma noticed that Bani was still standing there.
Grandma : Why are you still here? Do you want to say anything?
Bani : Hmmm.. (She fidgeted her fingers nervously)
Grandma : What is that? Just say it. I'm not going to eat you.
Bani : Hmm actually can I know whose photo is that? (She asked, pointing at the photo frame)
Grandma didn't say anything but glared at her. Bani understood that she hit the wrong button.
Bani's mind voice : Oh no, she is glaring. Bani, better run away before she burst out.
Bani : I'm sorry, grandma ji. I shouldn't have asked it. (She said sadly and turned to leave)
Grandma : Come and sit here. (She patted the bed beside her, indicating Bani to sit there)

Bani's eyes popped out in shock and surprise. She excitedly jumped and sat on the bed. Hitler glared at her again when she jumped on the bed.
Bani : I'm sorry.
Grandma : Why you want to know about the photo? (She asked calmly)
Bani : Hmm I just want to know. Because you didn't come out from the room until now and when I came here, I saw you looking at the photo frame, grandma ji.
Grandma took the photo frame and showed it to Bani. It was a vintage wedding photo.
Bani : Who is this couple, grandma ji? (She asked excitedly)
Grandma : It's mine. This is me and my husband.
Bani : Wow, you both were looking like made for each other.
Grandma : Yes, I know that. (She said in a sad tone)
Bani : Are you missing grandpa now, grandma ji? He is no more with us?
Grandma : Yes, he is no more.
Bani : If you don't mind, can you tell me about your wedding story? (Grandma glared at her again but this time it was not a real glare)
Bani : I'm sorry if I asked wrongly. (She lowered her head)
Grandma : It was love marriage. I was very happy when I was getting married to him. He fell in love with me at the first sight. He asked my parents and got married to me. I thought we were going to live together happily but it didn't last for so long. He suddenly left me alone on our first year anniversary. (A lone tear escaped from her eye)
Bani wiped grandma's tear and held her hands. To her surprise, grandma reciprocated her hold. She patted Bani's hands with a smile. It was the very first time Bani saw her smile.
Bani : Grandma ji, you look beautiful when you smile. (She blurted out)
Grandma glared at her again but with a smile this time. Bani chuckled looking at her smile.
Bani : Why did grandpa leave you, grandma ji?
Grandma : He passed away in an accident. He left me and the world that day. It was the last day when I smiled wholeheartedly because he told me that he was going to get a gift for me but he didn't return back home and I didn't receive my gift too. (This time her smile vanished and tears flowed down her eyes)

Bani kneeled down in front of grandma and wiped her tears but she didn't realise that there were tears rolling down her cheeks too.
Bani : Grandma ji, please don't cry. I'm sure grandpa won't prefer to see you crying.
Grandma : Veer also won't prefer to see you crying, right? (She smiled and poked Bani's nose)
Bani : No grandma ji, instead he will make me cry more.
Grandma : Don't say like that about my grandson. You can never find a guy like him anywhere in this world. He is such a gem of a person exactly like grandpa.
Bani : I know grandma ji. I'm lucky to share my life with Veer in this birth. (She immediately bit her tongue when she realised what she said) I mean I'm lucky to share my life with Veeranshu ji in this birth.
Grandma : Stop acting. I know you still call him Veer behind me.
Bani lowered her head not knowing what to say.
Grandma : It's okay if you want to call him whatever you want but make sure give him the respect he deserves and always respect the elders too. I'm really disappointed with today's generation because they have forgotten to respect the elders.
Bani : Sure, grandma ji. I will respect everyone wholeheartedly.
Grandma : Good for you. (She patted her hair)
Bani felt like she was seeing a new grandma today. She was too far from Hitler today.
Bani : Thank you for sharing your story with me, grandma ji. I really feel happy talking to you.
Grandma nodded and Bani got up to leave the room but stopped when grandma called her.
Grandma : Listen.
Bani : Ji?
Grandma : Thank you. It has been many years since I shared my pain with someone. I'm feeling light because of you today.
Bani : No, grandma ji please don't thank me. It's my pleasure to share your pain. (Grandma smiled genuinely and Bani left the room happily)
