The second session between Branch and Poppy.. Will Branch open up more or will they stay stuck in the same spot they were the first time?

The sun was out, and it was a beautiful morning. 'Too bad I won't be able to enjoy it.' Poppy thought to herself.

Poppy loved her job but didn't like having to work all day especially nice days like today. She walked into the building and got checked in humming on her way to her office.

''Morning Ms. Poppy.'' She saw Hickory at the door leaning.

''Morning Hickory.'' She greeted pleasantly.

''Love the outfit, you look stunning.'' He said winking at her.

''Why thank you.'' Poppy smiles looking at her pink pink blouse and jean skirt.

''How would you like to go out with me on Friday?'' He asked leaning close to her.

''Ok that was pretty good but don't wink or lean in it makes you look very cocky and way too confident.'' Poppy pointed out laughing.

Hickory looks down sighing. ''I'm trying but I failed again.''

''Hey, come on now you haven't even asked Delta I'm sure she'll say yes.'' Poppy said patting his shoulder.

''Maybe, I was thinking of asking her this afternoon.'' He said hands on his work belt.

''Do it, I'm sure you don't be disappointed.'' Poppy smiles.

''Thanks Doc. Oh hey trollcaccino is that second one for me?'' He asked eyeing the drinks in her one hand.

''Nope, sorry it's for me. I have a long day and I have Ryan, and Branch today and I need all the sugar I can get.'' She said as he opened the door for her. ''Oh, one more thing please can you call Branch by his name when you bring him?'' She asked.

''True, good luck and for you I will call him Branch.'' He called shutting the door as she went through and went to her office, she saw Cooper and Quincy were talking.

''Poppy.'' Quincy said.

Poppy went over. ''Yes, what's up?'' She asked.

''I know that you like giving your clients the benefit of doubt and I would never tell you how to do your job, but in this case, I'm telling you that when Sunset comes in, he will be in hand and feet cuff, he's bragging to the others about raping you and I'm not taking any chances with him.'' Qunicy said.

''I understand.'' Poppy said going into her office and sighed.

''Senorita Poppy, I'm bringing cell mate 19.'' Tresillo said through the walkie.

''Bring him in.'' Poppy said.

A knock on the door as she pushes the button and in came Ryan as Tresillo left.

''Morning Ryan.'' She said.

''Morning Poppy.'' He sat down.

''So, how are you doing?'' She asked.

''I'm great! I'm up for parole here in a couple of weeks and I'm ready.'' He said excitedly.

''I know, and you've come a long way.'' Poppy said as they ended the session.

Branch was sitting in his cell happy to be by himself giving that Sunset was in the quiet room for starting another fight. He heard key's jingling and saw Hickory coming to his cell. ''Alright Branch lets go.''

''Where?'' He asked surprised he used his name.

''Therapy.'' Hickory said.

Branch nodded and got off his cot and places his arms out as Hickory places the handcuffs on him and they walk to Poppy's office.

Poppy was preparing for Branch and some reason she was excited and nervous about Branch coming in hoping it would go better but there was something else she was excited for, and she couldn't figure out what it was.

''Poppy I'm bringing Branch in.'' Hickory's voice came from the walkie.

Poppy smiles and presses the button and in came Branch with Hickory behind him uncuffing the blue troll and he walked out closing the door.

''Come in Branch.'' Poppy said happily.

Branch still looked around and went to the armchair and sat down looking a calm and a bit nervous.

''I remember yesterday you asked if I had a trollcaccino and I didn't. But I thought since it's something you like, I brought you one.'' She said pulling out the two cold drinks.

Branch was shocked at this act and didn't know what to say as she came over with the drinks and held one out to him. He took it but raised an eyebrow and sniffed the drink eyeing it.

Poppy sat down and watches him, giving a small chuckle. ''It's safe Branch, I got it from the cafe.''

He looked at her and then holds the drink looking sheepishly. ''Sorry.. being in here you learn not to trust anybody or anything they give you.''

Poppy showed sympathy for him, he wasn't wrong. ''Well, you can trust me and the stuff in here, it's a safe spot.'' She said coaxingly.

''Do you do this with all your clients?'' He asked looking at her.

''Nope, but I thought this might make you feel comfortable, and it might help you to open up a bit. Plus, this is one of my favorites.'' She said taking a drink.

''So your bribing me?'' He asked.

''I wouldn't say that, I just want you to feel comfortable is all.'' She said.

They stayed like that looking at each other and Poppy couldn't help but notice the color of his eyes, they were beautiful. ''So back to yesterday's topic, what things do you like to do for fun?''

Branch nodded his head looking to the side. ''Well I enjoy singing in fact I was actually gonna go into the music business, but things change that I don't want to talk about.''

Poppy paid close attention while writing something on the notepad but kept watching him. ''Really? Were you in a band at all?'' She asked curiously.

''Yeah, me and my closest friend with two others we called ourselves 'The Gray Trolls'.'' He said smiling.

Poppy smiles listening. ''How nice! I love music myself. So, what are some other hobbies you like?''

''I'm a huge puzzle fan, when it rains or in the winter I curl up by the fire and work on a puzzle me and grandma are working-- was working on one.'' He said quietly and sadly.

''Puzzles are great they really do help the time pass.'' Poppy said making note of his grandma and she felt bad for him more so then the others.

''Yeah, not sure if I'll ever finish it.'' He said sighing.

''Why not?'' She asked putting down her pad and turned her chair to face Branch.

''Well, it just lost all of its fun since I'll be alone, and it was grandma's favorite thing.'' He said sadly.

''Overtime it will get better and the memories you have will be all the good things that you remember of her.'' Poppy said.

''Can we stop I'm not comfortable with this.'' He said sinking down in his chair holding his empty cup.

''Sure, we can.'' She looks at him. ''How was the rest of your day yesterday?'' She asked.

''It was ok, I mean I'm here not much to talk about.'' He said looking out the window.

Poppy smiles and kept looking at him, her heart was beating fast. He looked so handsome sitting there as his ear twitch and she smiles but felt her heart go out to him and she didn't like this new feeling.

''Well, we made progress so far and thank you for opening up to me.'' She said.

''Sure, I guess your surprisingly very easy to talk to.'' He said giving her a genuine happy smile.

Poppy smiles at him and felt her cheek flush a bit.

''So, what kind of things do you like?'' He asked looking down.

It was Poppy's turn to be surprised, normally the clients only talk about themselves which is why she is there, and she was fine with that, but they rarely asked about the things she liked.

She was about to answer there was a voice on the walkie. ''On my way to get Branch.'' Hickory said.

''Ok so I'm not here over the weekend, so I will see you Monday, and I want you to tell me more about yourself.'' She said as they stood up.

Branch was thoughtful. ''On one condition-- that you tell me what things you like to do, if I am gonna be here and to make this work between us, I need to know stuff about the troll I'm sharing my feelings with.'' He replied.

Poppy felt her cheeks go red as she heard what he said but knew what he meant right? ''Fair enough, it's a deal.'' She shakes his hand, and they smile at each other.

''I know this isn't right-- but can I have another hug?'' He asked shyly.

Poppy hugged him and felt warm in his hug, if it got him to open up and trust her. She would do it.

Hickory came in and handcuffed Branch.

''See you on Monday Branch.'' She said smiling at him.

''See you.'' He said a twinkle in his eye and left.

Poppy was on her way home and felt something strange inside of her a happy, bliss feeling. She shook her head, but her mind was thinking about Branch.
