Poppy biggest fear comes to life...

Later that night Poppy and Trollex got all the evidence to take Marco to court.

''Ok, so tomorrow morning I will go to the cops and show them the evidence and get Marco arrested.'' Trollex said.

''Sounds good, by this time tomorrow Sunset will be locked away for good, and the trial starts at 10 so try to get it into them early.'' Poppy said.

''Don't worry I got this. So how was Branch?'' He asked.

''Good, worried that he's gonna get killed by Marco.'' Poppy sighed looking down.

''Hey, things will be ok.'' Trollex said reassuringly taking her hand and smiling.

''I know.'' Poppy smiled back.

''And with that I'm gonna go home, see you in court tomorrow.'' Trollex said leaving.

Poppy smiled and went to bed, she had a big day tomorrow, bigger then she knew.

Meanwhile in the jail...

Branch was awake in his cell as everyone was going to bed. He couldn't sleep he was worried that Marco would come after him. But he heard the guards talking as they closed Sunset's cell which Branch relaxed a bit.

He went to sleep for a few hours then woke up sweaty and decided to go to the bathroom.

Once he got there and relieved himself he thought of taking a shower, the guards were changing shifts but he was violently slammed to the ground and saw a few buffer looking inmates holding him down as Marco came over grinning.

''I told you I will kill you and you have nowhere to go.'' Marco said smirking.

Branch gulped and got punched in the face twice and then looked at Marco.

''Y-You killed my grandma!'' He said trying not to cry.

''Oh?'' Marco kicked Branch in the gut several times.

''Stand him up.'' Marco ordered.

They did and he punches Branch several times in the gut, then back in the face.

The first inmate threw Branch down hard on the ground with a thud and they all took turns kicking and punching him as Branch felt so weak.

''Leave us.'' Marco said as the others left.

Branch tried to get up and stop Marco but he was way too beat up and weak. Marco got on top of Branch and began strangling him.

''You know something you're right I did kill your grandma and old Creek helped me cover it up. But don't worry you're about to join your grandma and Poppy will be all mine.'' Marco said smirking.

Branch felt the life leave him but all he could think about was Poppy.

''Sunset the guards are coming.'' One said.

Marco choked Branch harder and he decided to play dead.

''SUNSET NOW!''

Marco kicked Branch once again and then left.

The next morning Poppy's phone went off and she saw it was 6 in the morning.

'Hello?'

'Poppy it's Hickory I have some news... Branch is in the hospital.'

Poppy's heart sunk and she tried to hold back tears. 'Is he?' Dare she ask.

'No, not yet. He's hanging on but it doesn't look good, but I'm on my way to get you.'

'Ok I'll be ready.' She hung up and got dressed but was worried.

She waited outside and saw Hickory's truck.

''Hey.'' She said.

''Hey Sugar.'' Hickory said as they took off.

''What happened?'' She asked.

''Turns out late last night Branch got beat up in the showers and was practically dead but was still alive. He got beat up pretty bad.'' He said driving.

''Do they know who did it?'' She asked knowing who did it.

''No, but they saw dried blood on Sunset's knuckles and he is in isolation until his hearing and Quincy and Essence are looking at the camera's.'' He said.

It was quiet. ''So, will you now tell me what is going on?'' He asked.

''I've been working on Branch's case along with his friend Trollex we are trying to clear Branch's name and we got enough evidence to prove it wasn't Branch who killed his grandma it was his old enemy Marco or as you know him Sunset. And Creek was working with him.'' Poppy said.

Hickory let out a low whistle. ''So Sunset is this Marco guy? How?'' He asked.

''long story.'' She said.

They made it to the hospital and Poppy ran up to the desk. ''Which room is Branch Timber in?''

The nurse looked up. ''Room 10.''

Poppy ran over only to be stopped by police officers.

''It's ok she is with me.'' Hickory said coming over.

They let Poppy in and she stopped and covered her mouth with her hands as her heart dropped at the sight of her beloved Branch. He looked like a rag doll with marks all over his body, two black eyes and bandages on his head. She went over shaking her head and she gasped to see the deep dark bruises on his neck.

''Oh Branch what did he do to you?'' She cried going over and taking hold of his hand.

Hickory came in and looked down feeling sad. ''So, I take it you and Branch are a thing?''

Poppy looked up then looked down not saying anything. ''I understand. I want to help just tell me what you need.'' He said.

''Go check out the camera's in the visitor room and see what was said between Creek and Marco.'' Poppy said.

Hickory nodded and left. Poppy sat next to Branch and called Trollex.

Once Trollex got over there he looked sad. ''Is he?''

''Yes, he's alive.'' She said.

''Marco did this right?''

''Yes, he did.'' She held his hand.

''Poppy it's time for your court case good luck.'' Trollex said.

Poppy felt a knot in her throat looking at Branch. ''Don't worry I'll call you when he wakes up.'' He said.

She nodded and left to see Hickory waiting for her and she got in. As they drove she was quiet and she got this jealous feeling. It should be her in there rather then Trollex and she hated that he was there.

''He'll be ok.'' Hickory said.

''I know.'' She said.

''You must really love him, you didn't want to leave his side.'' Hickory noted.

''I feel responsible for what happened, if not for me he wouldn't be in the hospital.'' Poppy said looking down.

''It's not your fault if you want to make it up to Branch then get Marco and Creek locked away, Marco for sure. Delta is looking at the footage as we speak.'' He said.

''Aren't you going to work?'' Poppy asked.

''Nope, I took the day off to come with you.'' He said.

She smiles gratefully.

Back at the jail Marco was pleased with himself and the police came in. ''Sunset you are under arrest for the attempted murder of Branch Timber.'' They took him away.

Hickory and Poppy made it to the courthouse and went in.
