Totto Land
Fae POV
I held the small pink box in my left hand. "So this is where your from. I can see why you love your home land so much. The water here looks so amazing and the air smells so sweet." I inhaled the sweet air into my lungs and exhaled tasting the sweetness on my tastebuds.
"Let's have as much fun as possible while we are here, okay?" I tilted my head with my arms folded behind my back smiling with my eyes closed.
Katakuri nodded his head in agreement but I could see worry form in his eyes when the docks came into view.
"What? What's wrong?" I asked softly studying him.
"Nothing's wrong just. . promise you'll stay near me no matter what." He said firmly gripping my shoulder tight. I nodded my head, "how about I just hold your hand." I said smiling trying to reassure him. He seemed to be deep in thought for a few moments before he finally nodded his head taking my right hand in his.
"This dress, isn't it one of the handfuls I picked out?" He asked as his eyes roamed my dress slowly. I could see desire creep in to his eyes and I felt my cheeks heat up as he guided my hand into his scarf. His lips kissed the tips of my fingers gently. I tried to calm my heart from fluttering out of control but my efforts were futile.
I nodded my head, "I-it is." He seemed pleased with my answer as he rested his warm hand on top of mine, pressing my hand against his cheek. The ship came to a halt and I cleared my throat pulling my hand out of his scarf but he caught my hand midair, entwining his fingers with mine and he pulled me closer to him. His warmth radiated against my skin making me even more flustered then I already was.
I took a deep breath and shook the fluttering away when I noticed two strange men standing at the end of the docks, almost as if they were expecting us. We slowly worked our way on to the island as Katakuri's hand gripped tighter around mine. "Do you know them?" I whispered as Azure wrapped around my neck being very observant of our surroundings.
I glanced up at Katakuri and noticed he's wearing that same cold, distant mask he had on when we was on the other island. Why does he refuse to be himself around others?
He nodded, "they are my brothers." He whispered. We finally reached them and I gave them a big bright smile. "Hello, I'm Fae. It's very nice to meet you." I said sweetly bowing.
"Likewise." Said a tall, slim man. He bowed gracefully and had this large smile that reached his ears. He had on dark lip stick and a yellow coat that had buttons as large candies. He had an unusual long tongue sticking out of his mouth and he wore a large colorful hat carrying a long lollipop cane in his hand. All I could think about at the moment was, 'wow, he must really like candy.'
The other young man was tall and muscular. He had dark purple wild hair with a large scar over his right eye and his light purple eyes were the opposite of kind. I could feel Azure thump his tail lightly against me.
~unsafe. . unsafe. .~
I guess Azure could see what I see. Even his smile was off putting but we shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. I thought reassuring myself.
My smile grew and they both blushed at the same time but the man with the scar had pink hearts in his eyes as he stretched his large hand out to touch me. I could feel my eyes widen as I took a step back but Azure bowed up and took a strike at his hand. He dodged it effortlessly but he was forced to jump back in the process. "Whoa, that's a dangerous little pet you have there." He chuckled smiling sinisterly as he reached his hand out again daringly but this time Katakuri smacked his hand away, shocking both of them.
Katakuri cleared his throat pulling me closer to him. "This is Perospero the eldest and this is Cracker he is also a Sweet Commander, like me." He said introducing us. Perospero smiled again and Cracker smirked at me as if he found Katakuri's actions amusing. I tried to step away from Katakuri because I felt this sick feeling in my stomach that told me being the center of this man's attention was a very bad place to be but Katakuri held my hand even tighter.
"Katakuri." I glared up at him. He leaned down to my ear and whispered, "don't make me have to carry you." I stopped squirming immediately feeling heat rise in my cheeks. The brothers in front of us looked at both of us as if they was curious about what Katakuri said to me but he ignored them and continued to hold my hand as we walked around Totto Land.
This island was beautiful and the air smelt so delicious. I loved that the island looked like a ginormous cakes and everything was made out of sweets.
The people around us were nice and welcoming and there was so many people all different shapes, sizes, and raises. It was truly amazing but I stopped in my tracks when I spotted a store that was saling chocolate mirrors. I noticed a mirror in the shop that looked exactly like the stand up mirror in my room.
Katakuri didn't have a firm grip this time when I pulled my hand out of his.
Leon has been here before recently. Now that I think about it. Katakuri never denied nor confirmed knowing my brother.
~Flashback~
"Yeah, I was sent out to find information about someone."
"Who is that someone?"
"I rather not say."
~Flashback ended~
If Katakuri knew my bother then wouldn't he have said something to me when I brought him up? I glance over at Katakuri with doubt in my mind.
Should I be worried about the man I agreed to be with? He made a promise with me that he wasn't going after Leon but I should take a step back and rethink everything because I could easily be walking into a lions den. I felt my heart sink and panic set in.
Okay, stop it Fae! For all you know your just over thinking things. Just because Leon has been here before doesn't mean Katakuri knows Leon and even if he did, that doesn't mean he wants to harm, my brother. Besides, why would Katakuri have anything against my brother? Leon is in the trading business, nothing to do with pirates. I felt my heart slow down. The truth is, the only way I will actually know anything is by asking him directly.
I studied every inch of him trying to convince myself that if I studied him hard enough I may get the answers I needed.
Katakuri POV
"Oven, wasn't exaggerating when he said she was beautiful." Cracker laughed wickedly licking his lips. "So, is there really something going on between you two?" Perospero asked observing me but I didn't answer him or responded to Cracker's remark. I just watched Fae's back as she observed the mirrors. She was studying the standup mirror that resembles the mirror in her room.
She's putting two and two together. She knows Leon as been here before.
She slowly turned towards me and I saw distrust flash before her eyes but it was gone in a blink of an eye before I could read more into it but I saw it and it hurt to see her look at me like that.
"Hey! Stop running you freak!"
"Yeah, stop running ugly!" Two boys demanded, chasing a smaller boy until he tripped and fell skidding across the ground. He curled into a ball when the boys started kicking and stomping on him. Everyone continued to walk past the boys ignoring the situation and pretending like it's none of their business as they continued walking by.
I sighed, of course people would ignore this, it has nothing to do with them so why should they intervene? It's easier to pretend like nothings happening and keep a fake smile on your face. People say 'how sad' or 'poor thing' but they continue walking, acting like they are still good people if they just pretend not to notice. People really do show their true colors when it comes to difficult situations.
"Excuse me. What do you two think your doing?" Fae asked seriously, giving Azure the pink box to hold as she placed hands on her hips glaring down at the boys. "Mind your own business, lady." Snorted one of the boys still stomping the boy on the ground. "Yeah, mind your business." Fae knocked the boys on top of their heads with her fist. "You made it my business the moment you did this in front of me." She scolded, glaring down at them with irritation.
"Ow! Why did you do that, lady!"
"Yeah, why?!" They both whined with tears in the corner of there eyes as they rubbed the welp on top of their heads.
"Because what your doing is wrong. It's not okay to hurt someone because you think someone is different from you." Fae lectured as they wiped there tears away.
"You need to apologize to your friend. . Oh, sweetie look, your bleeding." Fae mumbled lightly with kindness flowing out of her eyes as she kneeled down towards the bleeding boy. She looked around to see if anyone was watching and when she thought she was in the clear she put her hand on the boys knee. A small gold light formed around her small hand and just as fast as the light appeared, it disappeared just as fast. She pulled her hand away and the wound was gone. "Hey! It doesn't hurt anymore! How did you-"
"Shh! It's a secret, okay?" She whispered softly putting her finger to his lips to shush him. The boy nodded his head as she pulled him up onto his feet, dusting the dirt off of him.
"Did she just heal that boys scrap?" Perospero asked. "So Oven wasn't seeing a allusion after all. How long did you know she could do that, Katakuri?" Cracker asked me but I continued to ignore them, tuning them out so I could hear what was going on.
"Why should we apologize? Just look at him, he's ugly." The boy said pointing his finger at the dirty boy with tears in his eyes.
"So what if he's different. You have a round head and you have a bunch of freckles on your face. Your both different too and to be honest, all I see is two boys who are just as different as he is, bullying him for no reason at all. So please tell me, what makes him so different from you two?" Fae asked tilting her head.
"Well, I-I. . I don't know."
"Yeah, I don't know." They both cast there eyes down.
"Everyone is different and you know what. . that's okay. Only people with teensy-weensy brains don't realize different is good. Do you know how boring the world would be if everyone looked and acting the same. Now tell me, do you two have teensy-weensy brains?" Fae asked teasingly with a big smile, ruffling up their hair.
They both blushed in embarrassment. "N-no! I-I'm s-sorry, Spinner. See! I don't have a small brain! I apologized, happy?!" He yelled crossing his arms.
"Yeah, we don't have small brains! And I'm sorry too, Spinner."
"It's okay you guys. D-do you still want to go play together?" Spinner asked hesitantly.
"Yeah! Let's go play!" And all three boys ran off to go play together.
I didn't realized it until now but there was a crowd watching Fae with awe, even my brothers watched her in silence. Fae noticed the crowd, "well, that went better then I thought." She giggled to herself. She was truly amazing. I found myself moving to her side before I realized what I was doing. My hand covered hers and I squeezed a little. She titled her head and smiled brightly up at me.
I kept staring at her, socking up her beautiful face that looked more gorgeous then ever. "What? Is there something on my face?" She asked seriously and I couldn't help but chuckle. "No, there's nothing on your face." I stared down at her fondly. I absolutely adore this beautiful, silly girl standing before me.
"Katakuri, can I ask you something?" She asked, staring up at me seriously.
"Yes, you can ask me anything."
She nodded her head, "okay then, do you know my brother?" She asked, studying me hard. She is testing me to see if she can catch me in a lie. So, she really is starting to doubt me. I don't blame her. I would to if I was in her situation.
"I will be honest with you." What do I say? 'Yeah, I know Leon because he's a pirate who delivers illegal contraband to my mother and oh, by the way, my mother want's him dead or working under her like a whipped dog.' I can't say that to her.
I sighed, "I may have see your brother before. . . He comes here to do some shopping but I never came in contact with him and I didn't say anything because I don't even know if we're talking about the same Leon." I felt the lies smoothly roll off my tongue as if my mouth was use to lying to her and I didn't like that one bit.
She looked me over before she finally gave me a real smile, "thank you for being honest with me." She waved her hand telling me to come closer to her. When I got to her level she put her lips to my temple in front of everyone. People stopped, gasping in shock. I could hear whispers all around us but I didn't care. She kissed me without hesitation in front of everyone and smiled with a beautiful pink tint to her pale cheeks. I could feel my mask cracking when I looked into those beautiful grey eyes of hers. It's hard to wear a mask that my family is use to seeing with her around me. Damn, she really is going to end up being my undoing.
~The two brothers watching from a few feet away~
"Are you seeing what I am seeing?" Cracker asked amused.
"Yes, I am. What a particular girl, perolin." Perospero said staring at Fae with curiosity.
"Should we be worried? I mean I understand, just look at that smoken body but the way he's looking at her isn't just in a lustful manner. That's something entirely different." Cracker laughed but his eyes kept drifting back to Fae with lust leaking from his eyes.
"You got a little drool there." Perospero said mockingly, "Let's just see how things go with Big Mama, perolin." Perospero mumbled seriously watching Katakuri and Fae with wary.
