Neptune
Jinbe POV
Neptune had a welcoming smile on his face when he invited me to his chambers. “Not that I don’t mind your company but what brings you all the way here, Jinbe?”
I opened my mouth to speak but his chamber doors flew open and his three sons entered the room.
“Jinbe! Long time no see, Akkamanbo!” Manboshi smiled brightly at me.
“Yeah! Wish you would visit us more often, so-la-ti-do!” Ryuboshi came in behind Manboshi.
“Give him a break guys, he comes when he cans.” Fukaboshi scolded his brothers when he entered the room behind them.
I could feel myself sweating a little but I respectfully bowed to the young princes, “thank you for your warm welcoming, you are all to kind but I’m here to speak of an important manner that I must urgently relay to your Father. . alone.”
Neptune still had his smile on his face, “don’t worry Jinbe, they need to start listening in on these meetings. All four of them will rule over this Kingdom when I’m gone, it’s about time they start taking these meetings more seriously.”
“I agree your Majesty but this is something your not going to want anyone else to hear.” I insisted firmly.
“Nonsense, go ahead and speak. I have no secrets to hide from my sons.” He stated seriously.
I sighed, “Faelynn. .” I whispered her name and his face slowly shifted from a smile to a deep frown.
“Boys, leave this room now.” He demanded firmly, not taking his eyes off me.
I could see their faces fill with curiosity and concern all in one but they obeyed and left the room one by one.
After the door clicked shut, Neptune looked destruct and angry, “I made it forbidden to speak her name yet you come to my home and say her name in front of me. Of all merfolk’s in this Kingdom why me, Jinbe?” he asked me sternly.
“Forgive me your Majesty! I mean no disrespect! I didn’t come here to bring up painful memories of the past but. . I know this isn’t possible but she’s. . she’s alive your Majesty.” I bowed my head, sweating bullets.
“Jinbe, Faelynn is gone! She’s buried next to her mother exactly where Otohime insisted she be buried when she died. You were there at the funeral, Jinbe. Why on earth would you think she’s alive?”
“I saw her your Majesty! I know it sounds impossible but I knew that it was her. She even had Otohime’s bright smile and this may come out as an insult but your Majesty. . did you even see Faelynn's body before she died?” I asked knowing that this conversation was going to be extremely hard to discuss but it’s much harder then I imagined.
Neptune opened and closed his mouth and I could see the pain in his eyes, “what proof do you have that she's alive?” He whispered in a shaky voice, covering his hand over his eyes.
“She possesses the Poseidon’s ability.” Neptune dropped his hand off his face and fell back into his throne in shock. He didn’t utter a word as I continued on with the little information I gathered.
Minister of the right and Minister of the left came barging into the room and when they saw the look on Neptune’s face they knew something was wrong.
“Escort the Doctor of the Royal family into my chambers, now!” He roared in rage.
The guards scrambled in a panic, never seeing the king act in such a manner but they did as he asked.
“What is the meaning of all this?” Minister of the right asked with worry.
“Why must you see Dr. Pearl? Is something the matter your Majesty?” Minister of the left asked with concern in his voice.
“Did either of you see Faelynn’s body when she was declared deceased by the Doctor of the house hold?” Neptune asked sternly, leaning into their faces intimidatingly. They both paled, “N-no, your Majesty.” They both said at the same time looking at each other.
Neptune slammed his fist down on his arm chair, causing everything to shake and bounce up off the ground. During that small quake the door swung open and three princes that were eavesdropping, fell to the ground on top of each other.
Neptune’s eyes widen, “boys! What do you think you doing?! Leave this room at once!”
The princes manage to pull themselves up off the ground but all three had looked beyond pissed. “We have another younger sister this whole time and you never said anything?” Fukaboshi fiercely glared up at his Father. The other two stood behind him just as pissed.
He didn’t seem to know what to say and to be honest I don't want to be in his shoes right now because I wouldn’t even know what to say.
He opened his mouth but no words came out for a solid minute. “Theirs no excuse in the world that will explain why I kept this from you four for so long but m-me and your mother. . we stayed under severe stress and we didn’t want to you three going through the same heartache we were going through. We were so terrified to loss both of them but Shirahoshi was slowly getting better as she grew everyday but. . Faelynn, she wasn’t. . she kept a fever and her body was slowly getting weaker by the day.” Neptune looked ashamed of himself as he refused to meet his sons eyes.
“When Dr. Pearl declared her dead we didn’t question it. . Why didn’t I question it? I should have checked to see her body but I. .” His body tensed up and his aura darkened.
“Its not your fault your Majesty.”
“You were grieving like any parent would, your Majesty.” Minister of the right and left said trying to console Neptune’s guilty conscience. He waved them off, “We thought it would be best if no one knew. Your mother took it so hard and seeing you boys with smiles on your faces helped her get through the lose of losing Faelynn. . I’m sorry, I-I should have told you boys but as the years went on it just got harder and harder to tell you four.”
Fukaboshi’s glare wavered a little, “I understand your reasoning father but we had the right to know. Shirahoshi has the right to know but. . for now, let’s put all this behind us.” His eyes roamed until they landed on me. “Jinbe, you said our sister is alive. How do you know it was her?” He asked studying me closely.
“I didn’t know who she was at first but when I looked into her eyes. . my mouth just opened and her name just fell off my lips.”
“Where did you see her? What does she look like? Why didn’t you bring her with you?” Fukaboshi, Ryuboshi, and Manboshi asked me all kinds of questions but I couldn’t get a word in. The doors swung open and everyone grew silent when the guards escorted Dr. Pearl into the room.
Everyone including me, growled like a beast ready to rip him limb from limb when he walked passed us to Neptune. He gulped, shrinking in size as sweat dripped from his temples. He bowed when he stood in front of Neptune's throne. “Y-your Majesty, you have s-summoned me?” He asked hesitantly, noticing the atmosphere was growing thicker around him.
“What have you done to my daughter?!” Neptune glared down at the pitiful man who trembled in fear.
“Nothing your Majesty, S-shirahoshi is safe in her room.”
Neptune slammed his fist down on his arm chair, “I’m not talking about Shirahoshi! I’m talking about her twin sister, Faelynn!”
Dr. Pearl’s blood drained from his face. “I-I-" he slammed on to his hands and knees. “I’m sorry your Majesty! The Government made me do it! They-they told me they could save her life a-and I knew I wasn't able to do it! A-all I could think about at the moment was, what’s the harm in letting them save her life and if they didn’t, no harm done, right?”
“And I’m sure money had nothing to do with, right?” I said condescendingly as I glared down at the greedy old man.
“W-well they did offer a little money.” He said and when he saw the shock and disgust on everyone’s faces he went on explaining himself. “I-I declined and said, ‘No! I can’t take this money!’ but they were persistent on me taking it and they even threatened me and my family if I didn’t take it!” He blabber on and on until a dark shadow gloomed above him.
Dr. Pearl slowly lifted his head up and gasped in fear when he realized Neptune had a murderous glare in his eyes. “You sold my daughter to the Government!” His fist dangerously lingered above Dr. Pearl, “wait! Your Majesty! Don’t kill him! We must keep him alive! There tends to be more then one snake in a snake pit.” I shouted, standing in front of Dr. Pearl and Neptune’s eyes widen in disbelief as if he the thought never occurred to him that their maybe more then one traitor among us in the Kingdom.
“Jinbe's right, Father. We should all be rejoicing right now. Our sister is alive and well.” Fukaboshi turned to his brothers, “go see Shirahoshi and fill her in on everything we have learned today.”
“Right!” They both shouted at the same time, leaving the room in a hurry.
Fukaboshi turned back to Dr. Pearl and smiled cruelly at him, “and don’t worry Father. . I’ll interrogate Dr. Pearl myself.” He bared his fangs and cracked his knuckles and Dr. Pearl gulped, taking a step back in terror. Neptune glanced down at his son proudly for stepping up and taking command as the guards escorted Dr. Pearl out of the room with Fukaboshi.
The room grew silent for a moment and Neptune sat back down in his throne chair with a huff.
“Jinbe, time and time again, you have help me and this Kingdom. I don’t even know where to begin but let me start by saying thank you.” Neptune eyes became soft as he stared down at me. I shook my head, “this is my homeland and I may not be a soldier serving under your army any longer but your still my king and I’ll always be there to help Fishman Island.”
Neptune nodded his head with respect, “please Jinbe, tell me everything from the beginning. Tell me where my daughter is.”
I inhaled deeply, this is going to be the hard part. How will he react when I tell him his daughter is to wed to a pirate and not just any pirate. A pirate well known for his reputation and feared all around the world by everyone. Not only that but she was raised by a very deadly man who is known for his cruelty. This. . this is not going to be easy.
