Memories
Fae POV
It's been two weeks since Leon left and my birthday has come and gone. I'm finally 19 and nothing has changed.
Sanosuke still treats me like a child and has been bending backwards to keep me happy and it's not that I don't appreciate him trying to make me happy, but Leon told him to I just know it, not to mention he hasn't left me alone for a second.
Don't get me wrong I enjoy his presence I just wish he would quit the fake persona that everything is okay and everyone is happy.
It's been driving me crazy that I haven't been able to practice manipulating the sea water. I want to get stronger to prove to myself I can take care of myself, that I am not a helpless woman in need of protection 24/7.
Not that I could tell anyone anyways if I succeed but still, I want to become strong.
I still remember that day when Leon found out that I could heal wounds many years ago.
Flashback - 6 years ago
It was storming outside when Leon came barging into the house startlingly me. He was drenched from head to toe covered in scrapes and bruises but he still had a smile on his face when he saw me.
"What happened to you?!" I asked stunned running to his side.
"Oh, this is nothing I was just attacked by some dumb pirates but don't worry I beat them all up." He said laughing with a smile on his face trying to wave it off like it was nothing.
I could feel tears forming at the corner of my eyes. I wanted to heal all his wounds and the moment my fingers touched his arm his body began to glow brightly. After a few seconds the bright light disappeared and all the scrapes and bruises were gone.
Leon looked startled, "how did you do that?" The color drained from Leon’s face and he looked. . petrified. He grabbed the sides of my arms tight.
"Fae, you must never do this again! Do you hear me?!" I could hear the fear in his voice as he shook me. I nodded my head to stunned to speak.
I never seen Leon act like this before. I must have really scared him with what I did. I don't even know what I did.
He pulled me into a tight hug. "Fae, I promise. I'll protect you. . I'll protect you. ." Leon whispered again and again rocking me in his arms back and forth, leaving me completely and utterly confused and scared.
Flashback ended
That moment changed everything for the worst. He got even more obsessed with me staying on this small island.
What would he do if he knew I could do this too? I can never tell him or Sanosuke or anyone about my abilities.
It's bad enough he thinks I'm a monster that can't be around other people. I don't want to give him another reason to be scared of me. I looked down at my small hands feeling nothing but shame.
Katakuri POV
I hid in the shadows watching Leon and his crew from a distance. They were shopping at gift shops after gift shop buying all kinds of girly clothes, jewels, shoes, etc.
"Captain Leon, who are these gifts for?" One of his crew mates asked carrying a bunch of wrapped gifts in his arms.
"Just carry them to the ship and keep your nose out of my business." Leon snapped at his mate who coward hearing how menacing his voice was.
Maybe he has a lover? But that's a lot of presents for one woman. Maybe he has multiple lovers? It doesn't really matter but I'll find out soon enough.
I continued to follow them until they reached Leon’s ship, his crew was loading everything they needed for the journey on the sea.
I called Brûlée on my transponder snail. "Brûlée, I need to use your Mira Mira abilities to send me to the Mirro-World for a mission." I told her sternly.
We set up a quick plan, I'll spy and listen to Leon's crew behind the mirrors on his ship and a small ship will follow Leon's from a distances away while I give them the directions to follow.
After Brûlée and I finished talking, we were in the Mirro-World within minutes.
I listened to all the crew mates for hours. Listening to them rant about the fungus growing between their toes and how theirs never enough alcohol to satisfy their thirst.
I continued to listen to their pointless conversations but they never said anything discriminating against Leon.
Almost two weeks have gone by before the gossip started getting interesting.
"We are almost to that island were Sanosuke is." Crew mate one said.
"I wonder why we can't set foot on that island?" Crew mate two said.
"I heard that’s where captain Leon keeps his most valuable treasure and that's why Sanosuke has to stay behind to protect it." Crew mate three said in a matter-of-fact tone.
"Why are you guys talking about the island and his treasure?! You know captain Leon will kill us if he knew we were talking about it!" Crew mate four whispered looking around all panicky to see if anyone was listening to them.
They all ran back up to the deck pretending the conversation never happened as they went back to work.
Interesting, Leon most valuable treasure is hidden on an island that we are heading to now.
Maybe this mission will be completed a lot sooner then I predicted. I thought to myself smirking behind my scarf.
