Katakuri POV

I continued to carry Fae in my arms jumping from one roof top to another. She didn’t protest and I’m glad she didn’t because I wouldn’t put her down even if she asked me to. If I just told her to stay with me none of this would have happened. She wanted to come with me but I needed to give Mama an up date and I didn’t want her listening in.

~Flashback~

I put down all Fae’s new clothes on my bed and called in the servants to put them away in my closet. I walked into my office that was destroyed a few days ago but everything was back in place within the hour I destroyed it.

I called Big Mama and she answered on the second ring. “Are you almost here, Katakuri?”

“We will be there in three days, Mama.”

“We?”

I haven’t told Mama that what Leon values is a woman.

“Explain ‘we’ to me, my dear child.” She sounded sweet and clam but I knew better.

I explained everything to her. I told her Leon only values his sister and I explained how he kept her hidden and clueless about who he really is and the outside world. I explained every detail, and even how far he’ll go to keep it all a secret and will go through great lengths to get her back. I completely updated everything to Mama. (minus the details of how I feel about her and her abilities.)

I could hear Mama laughing evilly. “This is great! I believe I can work this to my benefit.” She was talking but I knew it was more to herself then to me.

“Katakuri! Make sure she gets here safely. I don’t want a single scratch on that girl. We need her in one piece. If what you say is true then he wont attack right away if the girl is on the island.” She crackled in the transponder snail.

“Yes, Mama.” I planned to keep her safe from the get-go.

“Keep me updated. I need to do some more planning with this new information that should have been told to me days ago.” I knew she wasn’t happy that I left out some details and to be honest I have know idea why I kept Fae from her for so long. Maybe I wanted to keep Fae to myself for as long as possible.

“Yes, Mama.” And she hung up the transponder snail.

I sighed, about to head back to Fae when my transponder snail went off. “Captain Katakuri, sir. I see a marine ship on the other side of the island about to dock, sir.”

“It’s fine we are about to head out soon anyways, besides we can handle one ship if need be.” I said about to click the transponder snail off.

“Yes, sir I understand but that ship belongs to Admiral Theo, sir.” My heart stopped when I heard Theo’s name. He has the travel-travel fruit. He could be already on the island. For how long? I didn’t know. Fae’s face crossed my mind and I felt my body moving all on it’s own. I ran as fast as I could to where I left her.

The moment I ran into the shop there he was standing in front of her touching her face. That longing look he was giving her made my whole body grow stiff. I wanted to rip him apart but I knew he was just as strong as I was. We could fight for days and probably end in a draw. Not to mention it would lead Leon right to us.

Fuck.

~Flashback ended~

I replayed his words in my head. “I don’t know who this woman is to you but I advise you to tell her she beautiful everyday or someone else will.” That was a threat if I ever heard one.

I picked up the pass practically flying to my ship as fast as I could. I was still shaken up and I just wanted to get Fae away from Admiral Theo. I could feel my speed picking up and Fae clung to me for dear life.

That look. . I couldn’t stop seeing the way he looked at her. I knew that look all to well because I give her that same look. Fae may have not notice but I did and if he’s anything like me, he’ll try to pursue her.

Fuck! Why is everyone trying to take her away from me?!

I landed hard on my ship looking down to see Fae burying her face into my chest. She was so cute curled up against me but I knew she was confused and maybe even scared. “We leave now! We don’t stop until we get to Totto land!” I commanded.

“Aye, aye sir!” My men yelled running around the ship getting it ready to depart. “I’ll be in my room if anyone needs me.” I said taking Fae to my room.

“Katakuri. . What happened? Theo seemed like a nice person, a lot nicer than most of the people here.” She said looking up at me for answers.

“Nice?” I hissed. “That man is an Admiral. He has one of the highest ranks any Marine soldier can have. He didn’t get that passion by being nice.” I said trying not to raise my voice feeling slightly irritated with her. I sighed, when I saw the tears forming at the corner of her eyes.

She wiped them away fast before they had the chance to fall from her eyes. “Well, he was nice to me.” She said crossing her arms pouting.

“Fae, listen to me.” I knelt down in front of her. “He works for the World Government. Even if he was a nice guy. He is a sworn enemy to me and your brother. He could kill you if he got orders to do it.” I said seriously.

“You’re a pirate. You take orders from your Captain too. If you got orders to kill me, wouldn’t you do it?” She said staring into my eyes without blinking. She turned my words against me and she asked me a question I couldn’t answer.

If Mama told me to kill Fae, could I do it?

“Could you please not think so hard about it. I was being hypothetical but. . if you had to kill me. I wouldn’t mind someone I care about taking my life, especially if it’s so they can live.” She smiled at me with her eyes closed.

I felt my chest tighten from her words because I knew she meant it. “Fae, I could never kill you, please don’t say something like that. Do you know what it would do to me if I lost you? Even if I was order to. I could never hurt you.” I said pulling my scarf down to kiss her forehead. She smiled sweetly at me with her cheeks a little flushed.

Her eyes grew wide like she just remember something important. She walked over to the bed and grab my red book. “This is a good book but I haven’t finished reading it and I’m a little confused about something. What does making love mean? How can you make love. I thought you can only feel love, not make it.” She curiosity asked another question that was out of my comfort zone.

“Um, making love is. . Uh, how should I put it?. . I-it’s where two lovers have sexual intercourse.” I said nervously with my face on fire.

Her face brew a deep shade of red. “Oh.” She said blankly. Her face kept shifting to different expressions staring down at the book in her hand. A laugh came from the pit of my stomach. I couldn’t help myself. Her facial expressions were hilarious.

“Stop laughing!” She said embarrassed which made me laugh even harder.

“I wonder why Sanosuke never told me anything about it when we were on the subject about sex.” She said curiosity looking up at the ceiling.

It took me a few seconds to realize she said a man’s name and what’s worse is they talked about sex.

Who the fuck is Sanosuke?!

I cleared my throat trying to stay calm. “Who is Sanosuke?” I whispered.

She blinked a few times and a big smile broke out on her face. “He’s my teacher and I guess you can say he’s like my second brother.” She said touching her finger to her lip like she wasn’t sure if her answer was right.

“So. . you two talked about sex?” I could hear the coldness in my voice.

“Well, yeah. He’s my teacher. I don’t know much about sex other than that’s how babies are made. It’s a subject we didn’t stay on to long because Sanosuke said it’s nothing I have to worry about any time soon.” She said innocently.

Well, fuck. Sanosuke you’re a horrible teacher. Should I explain it better for her?. . No, I’ll leave her alone about it. I want her but I want her more than just for her body and when the time comes I’ll make sure she prepared and knows what she’s getting into because theirs no way in hell I’m taking advantage of her and I definitely wont allow anyone else to do it either.

“Let’s talk about something different, okay.” I said and she nodded her head looking relieved.

“Tell me more about yourself. What do you do for fun when your home? Do you have any hobbies? What’s your family like?” She asked question after question not giving me time to answer.

I chuckled holding my hand up to tell her to slow down.

She smiled softly, “sorry.” She said sweetly with a slight blush.

“Well, I’m a Sweet Commander so I don’t have time for fun.”

“You’re a Sweet Commander?! That’s awesome!. . . . What’s a Sweet Commander?” She asked curiously. The way she looked at me made me want to grab her and kiss her but I chuckled keeping my desires to myself.

“Well, there are three Sweet Commanders and I guess you could say a Sweet Commander is just a title for a high rank pirate for the Big Mama pirates.” I said trying to explain it in a way for her to understand.

She nodded her head, ”Ohhh, okay. So you must really be strong.” She said with her eyes lit up. “You and I should brawl some time for the fun of it.” She said punching the air playfully.

I raised my eyebrow at her, “you want to play fight with me?”

“Sure I enjoy a good fight every now and then.”

She was so adorable and some what delusional if she thinks she can take me on. I shook my head clearing my mind, “anyways to answer your other questions. I don’t have any hobbies but if I had to say something I guess you could say I enjoy fighting and eating doughnuts, if you count that as hobbies and my family. . Well, I don’t even know where to begin on them.” I said seriously trying to answer her questions truthfully.

“It’s okay, take your time.” She said happily but I knew she was hungry for more information.

“I come from a family of pirates. My mother is my Captain and I have 85 siblings. 39 sisters and 46 brothers. I care for all my siblings and I’ll protect them with my life and kill anyone who so much as possess a threat to my family.” I said seriously and her eyes had sparkles in them.

“Your mom is your Captain?” Her jaw was hanging open a little. “That’s amazing! She must be super strong. Your so lucky Katakuri. I wish I had a lot of siblings like you. I bet it never gets boring with all of them around.” She said huffing plopping herself on the bed not even fazed when I told her my whole family are all pirates.

“I wish I had sisters. Someone I can talk to about everything.” She said burying her face in a pillow and within seconds she gasped lifting her head up fast. “Maybe I can become friends with your sisters!” She said a little to eagerly but I knew how my sisters are. They don’t take to kindly to outsiders.

“Uh, yeah, maybe.”

Fae’s smile slowly vanished and her eyes filled with sadness. She’s normally easy to read but when she’s like this I can’t read her. I don’t like seeing her smile vanish because I know something unsettling was going through that head of hers. I need to find out what’s bothering her and bring back that beautiful smile. “Fae.” I whispered she looked over at me a gave what looked like a tempt of a smile. 

I walked over to her and sunk to my knees, “please talk to me. Tell me what’s wrong. Did I say something wrong?” I put my hands on the side of her arms and squeezed a little. She shook her head no and I can already see the tears forming and falling out of her eyes.

“I don’t want you to regret bringing me along. I really am having a lot of fun but I really miss Leon and I feel so guilty for not letting him know I’m okay, it’s eating me alive on the inside. Are-are you mad?” She asked hiccupping.

“What? No, of course I’m not mad.” I said softly pulling her into a hug. “I’m sorry. I didn’t want to burden you with my feelings.” She said crying into my shoulder. “No, Fae, you could never burden me. Ever. Next time please talk to me. I don’t like seeing a fake smile on your face. It doesn’t suit you what so ever.” That got her laughing.

“How about this, write a letter to him and I’ll personally make sure it gets delivered to Leon.” I said lying through my teeth but if it gets her to smile again it’s worth it.

Her face lit up, “really?! Katakuri! You’re the best!” She yelled happily throwing her arms around my neck. She hugged me tight and I really enjoyed moments like these.

I was debating whether or not if I should use Kenbunshoku Haki to see how she would react to what I as about to tell her but I promise myself I wouldn’t use Haki on her unless it was a life or dead situation. I decided to keep my promise and I brushed some of her hair out of her face with my fingers.

“I’m not good with words so please, forgive me if this comes out wrong.” She nodded her head looking concerned. “I-I like you, Fae.” She blinked a few times but her eyes soften.

“I like you too, Katakuri.” She said sweetly but I knew she wasn’t getting what I was saying.

“No, Fae, I mean I-I lo-"

“Captain!!” I heard one of my men frantically banging on my door. I couldn’t help but let out a growl. Fae put her small cool hand on my cheek and all the anger faded away. I don’t know how she does that. It’s almost as if she’s dissipating all my anger but then again it could be just because I enjoyed her touch. I got up stomping my way to the door pulling my scarf back in place.

When I opened the door I glared down at the young pirate that I would have killed if Fae wasn’t sitting in the bed behind me. “Captain, I’m sorry for disturbing you but you have to see this.” He said frantically giving me the newspaper. I opened the newspaper to see Leon on the head lines.
