Confrontation

Oven POV

I followed suit behind Katakuri who was literally on the verge of flying in to a rampage but I knew he was holding himself together by a single piece of thread for Fae’s sake.

I stole a quick glance at him and I caught a glimmer of worry in his crimson eyes. I knew his mind was on Fae because mine was too but we can’t help her if we allow the enemy to pursue any further on our territory and he knew that just as much as I did. I just hope Fae is somewhere safe for everyone’s sake.

Katakuri POV

When we finally got to the edge of the island, I was surprised to find an empty battle field and I was even more surprised at the lack of casualties. I was expecting more bloodshed but none of our chess soldiers had any fatal injuries and from what they reported, it was Neptune’s soldiers who attacked us but I’m more worried about why they immediately retreated before the battle even started.

Why did they retreat? It makes no sense and why did the sea dwellers attack our troops in the first place? I thought we had an agreement with Jinbe, so why did they attack us? Don’t tell me this was just a diversion but for what?

“Where is Jinbe?!” I demanded, glaring down at everyone but they just looked worriedly at one another, hoping someone would know and speak up but no one did.

I grabbed the closest trembling troop by the collar of his shirt, “find him.” I growled in low deep voice before dropping him to the ground. “Y-yes, s-sir!” and he took off running with a handful of other troops.

Where the fuck is he?! And why have I just now noticed that I haven’t seen him since the Tea Party, at least not since he declared Fae was a Princess. . . . My heart sank, don’t tell me this ambush had something to do with Fae this whole time?

My mind was roaring in rage and I wanted to rip apart everyone and everything in my path until I found her but now's not the time for me to start acting like a mindless blood thirty beast.

I don’t want Fae to ever see that cold, thirsty beast I once was but it’s getting harder to control that monstrous side of me by the second. “Did the girls find Fae?” I asked Daifuku, hearing the venom in my words and Daifuku winced a little when I made eye contact with him.

He took a breath as his eyes darted away from mine in a hurry. “No. No one can seem to find her.” He whispered and everyone around took a couple of steps back, sensing my blood lust rising as it radiated off of me in bulks.

Dammit! Nothing is going to according to plan!

“Well this just saves me the trouble of having to look for ya.” A dark sinister voice spoke through a black cloud of ash as the smell of fresh blood filled the air like a strong perfume.

The black ash spun in the air until a figure formed at the edge of the island and there stood a very spiteful Leon. His minacious red eyes glowed dangerously as he wore a devilishly dark smirk.

Leon. . I actually was expecting him to show up sooner then expected but I was hoping he wouldn’t.

"Never underestimate the power of jet dials." He hummed with an arrogant smirk plastered on his face, almost as if he could tell what I was thinking.

The chess soldiers froze in terror for a split moment but eventually pointed their weapons, charging at him. “No! Don’t!” I shouted but it was to late, a swarm of black ash circled around them, turning their bodies into nothing but a cloud of dust as there weapons hit the ground and the gentle breeze carried there screams and ashes away.

“Ah, now we can talk without any disturbances.” Leon’s smirk grew even larger.

I made a Mochi donut, pulling my trident out of it. “You just killed my men and now you expect me to believe you want to talk.” I calmly stated as I narrowed my eyes dangerously at him.

He chuckled not even fazed by me in the slightest, “to be fair, they charged at me first.”

I growled taking a battle stance but he didn’t so much as move a muscle. “You know why I am here, Katakuri so let’s skip the formalities and get straight to the point.” His smile disappeared and his jet black hair shadowed his face, making his red eyes glow even more brightly. “If you tell me where she is, I promise to be lenient but if you don’t. . I’ll slaughter your entire family, starting with that precious mother of yours.” He snarled in detest.

“She safe and that’s all you’ll get out of me.” I snarled back.

His lips curled up into a cruel smile as if he was happy that I didn’t give him the answer he wanted, “wrong answer.” He whispered, hurling towards me at incredibly fast pace. “Katakuri! Watch out!” Oven screamed and I barely had time to shield myself with an iron wall of Mochi as the blow came in contact with it.

Shit, he’s fast!

His twisted grin widen as he delivered another blow that sent me crashing backwards but I forced my feet to stay planted on the ground as I slid across the dirt.

A vision briefly grazed across my mind and I gasped, knowing I wasn’t going to be able to help him in time. “Oven!” I shouted his name as Sanosuke slammed his foot into Oven’s chest and they both were sent flying backwards into the building behind us.

Ashes danced around Leon’s hand as a black and silver sword appeared in his palm. “Don’t worry, Sanosuke will kill him quickly. He’s never been the torturing type.” Leon mocked, pointing the tip of his sword at me.

“Daifuku, go warn the others!” I spouted orders and he hesitated, “but you can’t-"

“I said go!” I roared and he gave me a deep frown before taking off running in the opposite direction of us.

“Oh no you don’t.” Leon soru in front of Daifuku, swinging his sword sideways in attempt to decapitate him but I soru blocking his attack with my trident as Leon’s blade grazed Daifuku's neck.

The look of horror flashed on to Daifuku's face as he gulped in fear. “Keep going and don’t stop no matter what!” Daifuku nodded his head frantically and took off running even faster.

“I’m your opponent so leave my brother out of it!” I hissed and Leon laughed vilely.

Your telling me to leave your siblings out of it? That’s funny since you and your family never left my sister out it.” His eyes darkened viciously, “and for that, I’ll kill you all.”

We exchanged blows back and forth and each attack was more ruthless then the next.

“Your slowing down Katakuri! Don’t tell me your already getting tired!” He arrogantly stated as he delivered another blow.

I need to throw him off his game and end this quickly to make sure Fae is safe or I’ll be stuck fighting him for hours. I felt sweat run down my temple when an idea popped into my head. I’m sorry Fae, please forgive me for what I’m about to say.

“It was me who took Fae,” Leon hesitated for a split second but it was all I needed for me to force him to take defense.

“But seriously, I have to thank you Leon because of you it was so easy to manipulate her into coming with me.” I snickered when I manage to make him take a step back. “I mean she was so desperate for companionship, she was willing do anything and everything I told her.”

Leon cringed in anger, “shut up!” He swung his sword faster in every opening he could find but I blocked each attack effortlessly.

I think one more push ought to do it.

I laughed in his face, “you would not believe how easy it was for me to convince her to climb into my bed.” His eyes widen and his face paled over, “how dare you.” He whispered menacingly as black ash circled around us rapidly.

I ignored the chaos surrounding me and focused only on him, “her skin was so soft under my touch and her cries of passion sounded so sweet but what I enjoyed more then anything was how she allowed me to touch every. inch. of. her, including her heart.” I snickered once more, “and don’t get me started on how easy that was to take too.”

Leon grew even more outraged as the veins in his neck throbbed in fury. “You took advantage of her, you sick son of a bitch and for that I’ll make you pay with the blood of your family!” I saw nothing but darkness and the only light I could see was the red glow from Leon’s fearsome eyes.

Okay, I may have pushed a little to far.

“I’ll keep you alive long enough for you to watch me tear your family limb from limb and only when their writhing in pain and agony will I put them out of there misery.” Leon roared but a blast of sea water slammed into the both of us, rendering our devil fruit powers useless.

Leon and I both growled as water dripped off of us and our eyes darted in the direction the blast came from, “who’s the idiot that wants to die!” The fury left Leon’s cold eyes quickly when they landed on Fae.

She was in a white sun dress and it clung to her wet hourglass figure and as always she was stunning but something was different about her and I’m not talking about her hair being damp or the light that’s normally always shining in her soft grey eyes was now non-existing but it was the way her eyes held this emptiness to them.

“So, you really were just after Leon this whole time.” She mumbled dryly.

“Fae-"

“Tell me, did you even really love me or was that just a lie too?” Tears welled up in her eyes.

“Fae. .” Her brother whispered her name and she lifted her hand, slamming another blast of water into him. “I wasn’t talking to you!” She screamed and he hit the ground rolling as he coughed up sea water.

“Was it easy for you to watch me fondle over you or did you and the others just enjoy laughing at me behind my back?!”

I could have sworn I felt my soul dying inside of me when I realized she heard everything. “No. No. No, Fae please let me explain-"

“Save it! I don’t want to hear anymore of your lies!” She cried out in sorrow, “you betrayed me and I gave you everything I had! I gave you my first kiss, my heart, my soul, my everything!”

I opened my mouth but water slammed into me, knocking me off my feet.

“I wish I never met you! You both are just liars! I never want to see either one of your faces ever again!” She screamed at the top of her lungs as gator tears fell from her eyes.

“Fae listen to me they were just words. I didn’t mean-"

“Just words?!” She looked at me mortified before her eyes sadden, “they weren't just words to me.” She bit her lip, trying to control her sobs. “I'm so stupid, I can't believe I actually trusted you.”

Both me and Leon tried to get up off the muddy ground but she slammed us back down with more water again and again and I knew if she continued doing this, she could cause harm to herself by using up all of her energy.

She stopped, gasping for air as she rested her hands on her knees but the fiery rage never burned out of her eyes. “Fae, I know you feel betrayed but let’s just go home and talk about this, okay?” Leon told her with pleading eyes.

She pierced her eyes down at him, “You were the last person I would ever consider betraying me. I should have been able to come to you for anything but you lied just as much as Katakuri.” She wasn’t screaming anymore, she just looked so tired.

“When were you going to tell me I had a family?” Her voice cracked as her eyes soften and fresh tears welled up in eyes again.

“I-I’m sorry.” He whispered clutching his heart through his shirt as if seeing the betrayal on her face broke his heart.

“Sorry for what? Sorry you lied or sorry you got caught?” Her eyes sharpened dangerously down at him and there was no warmth nor kindness just treachery lingering in them.

“I’m sorry that I lied to you for so long but. . I did everything to keep you safe-"

“Stop lying! You didn’t do it for me you did it for you!” She was seething with anger but she took a step back, wrapping her arms around her chest as if she was trying to protect herself. “Why? Just. . tell me why, Leon?”

I wasn’t sure if he was crying or if it was just the water dripping off of him but he closed his eyes, looking away from her.

“Tsk, I don’t know why I even bothered to ask.” She turned her back on us and was about to walk away.

“Wait-"

“I didn’t want you to choose them over me.” Leon blurted out, cutting me off and Fae froze with her back still facing us. “I didn’t know about them until I found your files and I swear I had every intention on telling you but the thought of you leaving me stopped me from opening my mouth.” He dug his nails into the dirt.

“I was so scared you would leave me for them. I’m so sorry Fae, I was being selfish but I didn’t want to lose the only family I had. Please, forgive me and I promise I’ll tell you everything. I promise I won’t hide anymore secrets from you, I swear.” I didn’t think I would ever see the day the great Leon, groveling on his hands and knees, begging for forgiveness.

I soru behind her but she sensed me coming and quickly put up a small force field around herself to keep me from touching her. Dammit, I hate this power of hers. She’s infusing her healing with the water to create a perfect impenetrable ice barrier.

“Fae, please let me in. I know your upset but Leon is right, please just give us time to explain everything.” For once we were on the same page and I don’t mind putting our differences aside for a moment because if I don't, I’ll lose her too.

She just stood there and I could see her shoulders shaking uncontrollably. “Please don’t tell me your going to fall for there pathetic excuse of an apology?” A deep voice asked but I couldn’t pinpoint where the voice was coming from until Fae tensed up.

“Who are you?” she took a defensive stance but Theo just covered his hand over his heart, pretending to be hurt. “Ouch. Don't tell me you've forgotten all about me, seriously that hurts my feelings.”

Theo! What the hell is he doing here and how the hell did he get in there with her?!

“Fae, listen to me! Put the barrier down now!” I shouted and Leon was right beside in a heart beat but we were both still soak and wet with sea water so neither one of us could use our devil fruit powers.

Fuck!

She took a step back but she ignored my words.

“God dammit, Fae! Now’s not the time for this! You can be angry with us all you want later but for now, let us in!” I shouted, punching the force field with all my might but it didn’t so much as make a dent.

Theo teleported in front of her and for the first time ever, I saw fear in Fae’s eyes. She was frozen in terror. “It’s you.” She whispered, falling onto her behind and trying to scoot away from him. “You’re the creep who was in my room! Your the one who has been watching me like some stalker weirdo!”

“Aw, a beautiful mouth like yours shouldn’t say such hurtful words.”

“Stay away from me!” She tried to lift water into the air but her hand was trembling like crazy and the water just dropped back onto the ground.

“Theirs no need to fear me. I’m not going to hurt you, my dear.” He smiled softly at her as he took soft steps towards her.

“Don’t you fucking touch her!” Leon shouted, punching the force field again and again until his knuckles bled.

“Fae, listen to me! Don’t let him touch you!” I told her and she looked over at me and I could tell she was so scared. I wanted him dead and I wanted to rip him to pieces for making her look at me like that and it was like a switch flipped on inside my head. Haki busted out of me and the force field shattered like glass.

“Katakuri.” She whispered my name and Theo lunged at her, forcing her into his arms and then they were gone.
