Chapter - 1

"Hey, Brit. What the fuck! I've called you so many times. Why aren't you picking up my calls? Are you dead or what?" I was literally screaming into my phone.

I hated my best friend. I swear I had killed her so many times in my mind, however, I was too afraid to execute my plan in reality. Because if she died, I would be left alone. Besides my grandmother, I only had her, Brittany, in my life. My parents had already moved on in their lives, with their new family, so there was no point thinking about them anymore.

"Ugh—I was sleeping. I came late last—"

"What?! Are you not coming to the university then? Away from me for two months and you've grown nerves to bail on me? That's like my girl." I said sarcastically.

"Will you please stop for a second?" She yawned on the phone as if she had no hurry in the world. "Obviously I'm coming to uni. Why would I not come? My best friend is finally here. Yay, yay, yay!" She squealed with joy.

Her voice sounded just the opposite of what it seemed like a second ago. She was very excited; I could tell that by her voice. She was likely to be dancing on the bed right now which was one of her favorite habits.

I waited for her to stop with her usual drama before she finally spoke, "Please wait for me in the cafeteria, honey. I swear I'll be there in twenty."

"Yeah. Like always." I sighed a heavy breath.

As I looked around, I saw a line of cars parked on both sides of the road. The place appeared to be more like a sports car festival than a university parking area. Every car was different and more expensive than the other. It was too much luxury for my poor eyes to handle in one go. Therefore, I shifted my eyes to the six-story building standing right before me. It seemed nothing like its surroundings as it had a touch of vintage theme to it. With a huge structure and an imperial design, it seemed like this place carried a piece of heaven of its own.

Bracing my backpack like my life depended on it, I slowly walked inside. The interior of the building was simple and exquisite with minimal furniture. Trophies and mementos were put on a display on one side of the wall while the other side was adorned with miniature paintings. The reception was in the front where a woman was sitting behind a glass cabin.

"Excuse me, can you please guide me to the director's office?" I asked her.

She replied with a smile, "Yes, sure. Head along the hall to the corner. It's the first office on the left."

"Thanks."

"No problem." She went back to tapping her fingers on the keyboard.

It seemed like I was not the only late joiner here. Next to me, there was a group of freshmen in the director's room. After listening to the director's drivel about the rules and regulations, ethics and culture and enormous career opportunities offered by the university, I was tired to no end. I had to get my mind back to the recovery mode. I really needed a huge dose of dark coffee to get it working again.

I looked around as I noticed some students starting showing up on campus. I didn't know until then that I was actually too early. I forgot that it was not school where I had to appear right on time. It was time for me to get rid of my old habits.

Somehow, I managed to find the cafeteria which was another separate building. It looked more like a complex and was quite large in size to my surprise. It was as beautiful as many of the five star restaurants that I had been to, in my hometown.

As I stepped inside, my breath got stuck in my throat in awe. This place looked beautiful beyond my imagination. It had playful mosaic flooring, hanging ivy and sleek lighting fixtures around a coffee bar in the middle. The round tables were almost everywhere while sea port black couches were placed at the perfect spots. It was a blend of comfortable and sophisticated elements decorated and designed in light and dark tones.

The chuckling of a group of boys brought me back to reality. They were sitting on a sofa in the very corner of the room-all spread out and loud. I could not see them clearly from where I was standing, which was exactly the entrance. I immediately stepped aside and moved forward towards the food station-a round cabin in the middle of the room.

"Hi, can I have a cup of French roast espresso and one spring roll, please?" I smiled at the man standing on the counter.

He smiled back at me as he asked, "Sure. Small or large?"

"Large—"

"Excuse me?" A whisper in my ear made my hair stand on end.

As I turned around, a pair of warm and wet lips crashed against mine. Strong hands had pulled me close against a rock-like structure and wrapped around my body, restricting all my efforts to move away. I writhed like a fish in need of oxygen while he was savoring my lips as if his life depended on them. His groin was touching my stomach and I would be a fool if I did not notice-he was hard.

Bloody pervert!

I tried to bring a knee into his groin, but he dodged in anticipation. I immediately bit his lower lip and pushed him back, the moment his grip loosened around my arms. He fell back on the floor while I was standing there and gasping for each breath.

He stood back on his feet in a second while I was still struggling to breathe. Then I saw his face for the first time. He looked like a normal guy to me. Well, not exactly normal. Girls would usually call this type of guy hot and sexy but not me. He looked younger, dark and sharp-featured, with hollow cheeks, aquiline nose and a blueish jaw in need of a shave. He was dressed simply expensive with a black leather jacket wrapped around his broad shoulders, a classic blue ripped jeans and a matching pair of white sneakers. He was without a doubt a foot taller than me. No wonder how he towered over me and grabbed me like a piece of meat. But sadly he touched the wrong girl this time.

"What the heck did you just do?!" His lips curled with a growl as blood dripped out of his lower lip.

"Contributing to the kiss, you pervert!" I wiped off my lips as I hissed at him.

"Fuck, it was just a kiss," he said it so plainly as if it was not the unpredictable, forced and consentless kiss.

As I stepped forward to slap him and wipe that smug off his face, he instantly grabbed my chin with one hand and pulled me even more close to his body this time. He made me look into his dark eyes as he enjoyed my failed struggles to get away. I caught a whiff of his cologne and I wanted to step back because it was too intimate for my senses.

He whispers in my ear, "I think I should apologise to you," and he paused for a second before he added, "for this..."

"You fucking bast-hhh-umff—"

Before I could curse him with my words, his lips again fell on mine. Hungrily, he nibbled on my lips. I tasted his blood on my tongue as he placed his lower lip in between my teeth, defying me to bite it again. I would do it again if I had to. I was about to bite his lip when he chewed my upper lip and made me wince in pain. I tried to push him back but his hard chest seemed like it was made of marble because my punches didn't even make him budge.

He sucked on my lips like a vampire before he released me finally. My hand immediately rose up to slap him but he was too quick to stop it. I used my free hand for the second attempt but again I failed miserably. But my knee was smart enough to kick him on the right spot, in the right time, making him falter and screech in pain.

"Don't you fucking dare to play that prank on me again or you'll regret having a pair of lips altogether." I looked at him while a fire was burning inside me. "Fucking pervert!" I whispered under my breath before scampering off like I had never existed on this planet.

"Woah! Ken, she is evil..I bet you like her already." A guy snickered sitting in the back.

I kept walking straight hoping to not catch any more attention. I was too embarassed to face anyone at this moment.

"Man, you alright? Hope you didn't get any severe dick damage." And the rest of the boys chortled and slammed their fists on the table. I could only hear them.

"Shut up, Kyle, or you'll regret having a pair of lips altogether." He repeated my words slowly and sarcastically, pausing at each word. I could bet he was looking at me and grinning right now. Gosh! I wanted to smack him across his face and make that perfect face red and blue.

I somehow managed to make an exit. I inhaled and exhaled for quite sometime. What the hell had just happened? Who the hell was he? And why would he do that? He didn't seem like a guy who would even have to ask girls to kiss him, infact the girls would be throwing themselves at him all the time. But whatever the reason might be, the truth was I hated him. I hated his touch. I hated his guts. Damn it! Damn him!
