Drip.

         Drip.

                        Drip.

                                       Drip.

I groaned as I moved my body as I begin to wake up. I winced at each small movement as I felt my body ache all over.

It must still be dark.

I opened my eyes, not to the familiar sight of the sun beaming through my window into my messy room, but to darkness. Not completely black, but barely visible.

I was so cold and uncomfortable.

As I tried to stand, I fell back to the ground as something was holding me there.

The sounds of chains echo.

I flutter my eyes trying to adjust to the darkness and find myself in the same clothes as before and chains leading to my wrists.

I pull on the chain which then sends another echo of the chains clinking against the concrete and each other.

I then touch my sore neck, and this time, unfortunately, I found what I was looking for. My skin felt sore so the touch, as if the wound was still open, it was bumpy as his teeth had shredded my skin.

I pull my hand away to find bits of dried blood on it.

I look around and see that I'm in the basement of a building.

There were no windows, just stairs leading up to a door, which seemed to be the only way out. I couldn't even tell what time it was, I couldn't even tell if it were night or day. My clutch was gone which meant no phone, keys, or wallet.

I teared up as I remembered what happened last.

Flashes of him sinking his teeth into me ran rampant in my mind as I started tugging wildly and desperately on the chains hoping they'd break.

"Let me out!"

"Help! Please!" I screamed crying even harder now.

I had been bitten and kidnapped by a vampire. Apart of me wishes that maybe he had just killed me because at least I could see that coming, but now that he was keeping me alive..

Why? Where am I? How long had I been out? What's going to happen to me?

I sobbed as I looked up at the light pouring out from the basement door-

and suddenly he was standing over me.

I shriek and fall to the ground, I desperately crawl to the darkest corner of the room. Scraping my knees and hands in the process.

"Shhh, it's okay darling. You're okay." He says in a tone that was a bad attempt of a comforting one. It sent chills down my spine.

I wanted to scream at him. I parted my lips to say something but instead, I coughed horrendously, now feeling just how dry my throat felt.

"Here."He holds a plastic blue cup towards me.

I recoil from his hands causing him to spill the contents of it onto the ground and the cup rolls away.

"You taste too good for me to just let you die, I won't poison you." He says in an annoyed tone.

"Here, I'll fetch another." He says as he zips off and up the stairs only to return seconds later with another cup, but this time it was clear instead.

I hesitantly take the cup, the water spilling over onto the floor and my hands as I shake violently.

Staring down into my reflection in the small cup of water I see my disheveled hair and face dirtied with blood and dirt.

I only begin to cry again.

"Look at me." He says.

But I ignore him, still looking into the cup.

"I said, LOOK AT ME!" He grabs my chin and forces it to face his.

"You are going to be okay." He says as his eyes gaped into mine.

"You are going to drink the water, and then take another very long nap while I make you some food. Okay?" He says as if he was commanding me to and not asking.

I only stare back, blinking in confusion.

"Wha-" I say weakly as he slowly lets go of my chin.

He takes a step back a slow smile tugging at his lips.

"What ARE you?" He chuckles, genuine surprise riddled within it.

"College studen-." I start, after clearing my throat, still not drinking from the water.

"No-" He sighs, putting his hand over his face.

"Glamour works on all humans. But not on you? Human blood is like paradise.." He pauses as if reminiscing.

"Your's is.. euphoria.." He says looking at me curiously.

"I don't know what you are, and by the looks of it you don't either, but you aren't human." He says.

"There's only vampire's though, right? Humans and vampires. I'm human-- I don't drink blood, I can walk in the sun, I eat food. I-I'm human."

He throws his head back, loudly laughing. "You know nothing at all."

"Only humans and vampires.." He laughs again on his way up the stairs.

"No, wait-" I start to follow, but I'm abruptly cut off by my chains.

"Don't leave me... Why are you keeping me her-" Before I could finish an abrupt closing of the door and echo fills the air.

I slink down onto the ground only holding myself up by my arms.

I sob into the ground loudly, starting to regret ever even leaving the house in the first place. I was glad at least Derek was safe, as I was the only one here, but that's also the thing.

Dax told me he was looking for me but instead, I went out like an idiot...

I looked down at my right wrist that was restrained by the chains. The chains didn't look so tight, they looked like with enough effort I could get them off.

I positioned myself far enough so that the chain felt tight and I used my free left hand to hold onto my forearm as I started to lean back in attempt to pull my arm through the cuff.

The more I pulled the more I realized I won't be able to get it through without at least dislocating or breaking something.

I yelp in pain and stop pulling at the chain as it begins to squeeze my hand.

The basement door opens and just as quickly as it opens I am being held up by my neck.

His grip so tight I couldn't even gasp.

"You can't escape. Don't even try. I gave you one hand free as a courtesy, Don't make me restrain both-" He stops mid-sentence, turning towards the door.

His grip loosens a bit as his focus shifts.

As I begin coughing and trying to grasp for air, his focus turns to me again.

"Shut up." He whispers.

"Make a sound and I'll kill you." He says, stone cold. The usual sass in his voice replaced with a vicious seriousness.

He drops me and I crash into the ground and as he speeds off up the stairs he is met with something of the same speed.

Seth has appeared and has put Kassius in a headlock. They begin moving in a way that my eyes cannot keep up with, but as I catch my breath a wave of relief comes over me knowing that if Seth is here, then so is Dax.

I catch my breath and try pulling at my chain again.

"Stop." Dax appears fangs dropped.

"We've got you now." He says as he grabs the chain and crushes them to bits in his hand.

He picks me up bridal style as he begins to make his way out Seth is tossed in the opposite direction, it's now becoming apparent that he was losing.

"It appears that her blood makes me stronger." Kassius says, looking at his arms as he was realizing his newfound strength.

Kassius makes his way over to Dax and me and the next thing I know I am tossed 15 feet away into a concrete wall so hard I could feel the bones in my chest breaking on contact.

After hitting the wall I fall to the ground cause even more excruciating pain.

I scream in pain and start choking. I begin to cough and blood spills from my mouth. Every breath I took more excruciating than the last. It felt like my lungs were filling up with blood, like one of my ribs had punctured my lung.

"Naomi!" Dax yells as he lunges for me but is stopped by Kassisus instead.

I turn only my head to their direction and only see figures moving about around the room after a moment Dax finally yells.

"Seth!" He has Kassius in a headlock, but a weak one.

Seth breaks a wooden chair leg that was hidden in one of the dark corners of the room.

He approaches Kassius and presses the broken piece on Kassius' chest.

"You'll have the Kings guard crawling up your asses, you'll meet the true death too!" He hisses.

"You first." Seth hisses back between his fangs as he drives the piece into his chest.

Kassius lets out a rage and pain-filled growl as he bursts into a pool of blood and guts.

Seth and Dax are covered in his blood.

"We have to get her to a hospital. I'll start the car." Seth says as he begins running up the stairs at normal speed, without skipping a beat.

Dax rushes to me, dropping to his knees.

"Wait!" He says trying to pick me up, but I yelp in pain and he drops me back to the ground. I tried to stand with him but a sharp pain struck me in my back as I realized my legs were limp.

"I-I can't f-feel.." I sputter, even more, blood spilling from my mouth.

Dax sat me up on his lap, so I don't choke on my own blood.

"She won't make it." Dax says.

Seth gives Dax a worrying look. "Are you sure you want to do that?" He says.

"She won't survive otherwise," Dax says turning his attention back towards me.

He raises his wrist to his mouth and bites himself. Dark blood spilling from his wound and he brings it up to my mouth.

"Drink." He whispers through his lips.

"Trust me."

I had no other option. I could feel my life slipping away as the pain in my chest turned into numbness instead and my vision became spotty.

He pressed his wrist up against my mouth and I could feel his blood spilling into my mouth, so naturally, I began to suck.

The thought of this, drinking his blood-- the blood of a vampire, was gross and I wanted to gag, but his blood didn't taste like what I thought blood tasted like. It felt incomparable to anything I've tasted. Maybe sweet,  but not salty, or rich or-- actually it was like a bitter-sweet ancient wine.

With each gulp I felt a little better, my strength returning bit by bit.

"Don't let her drink too much.." Seth says quietly from the corner.
