𝙿𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚎𝚗𝚝

"Oof! For a little boy. You certainly are freaking heavy Dennis" Athena groaned on the floor in pain.

It was the second DA meeting and today they were practicing stunning spells. Harry wanted to demonstrate and Dennis Creevey volunteered. She had watched he he cast the stupefy spell on Harry, causing her friend to fly backwards. Apparently the force was too much on Dennis because he went flying backwards as well. Not wanting the little boy to get hurt, Athena sacrificed herself and used her body as a soft landing for the boy. Her spinal cord was going to thank her the next morning.

"Sorry" Dennis apologized giving her a sheepish smile.

"It's all good! No worries. Good job little one" she praised him as they stood up.

Athena walked towards the other side of the room, rubbing her back as she did so. Fred and George smirked at the blond earning a pointed glare from her.

"Shut it"she groaned.

Athena and Harry worked together to make sure everyone was casting the spell correctly. Everyone seemed to get the hang of it except poor Neville.

"Come on Nev! Just cast it already!" Athena urged him.

"B-but wh-what if I hurt you?" He asked nervously.

"It's going to take something more than a simple stunning spell to hurt me. And even if you did, I promise I will not try to kill you"

Neville became as white as a ghost. That certainly didn't make him feel any better.

"Okay. Now try. Loud and clear like you mean it. Pretend I'm a death eater"

"St-Stupefy!" Nothing happened.

"Again!" Athena shouted at him.

"Stupefy!!" Surprisingly, Neville did it. The spell wasn't as strong as it should have been but it was enough to knock Athena off her feet.

She let out a groan when her back collided on the floor of the room of requirement. Fred and George snickered and payed up their bet. Athena gave Neville a thumbs up and he was glad that he would be able to see another day...

The day had ended and as always, Athena carefully made her way to the Potions room before dinner. Her relationship with Severus was going more than great and she always looked forward to spending time with him. Once she entered the classroom, she saw that he wasn't there.

Weird. She thought.

Suddenly, a piece of parchment appeared out of thin air and floated in front of her. She grabbed it and read what it said.

𝘋𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘰𝘳, 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘭𝘦𝘧𝘵.

𝘚. 𝘚

As soon as she finished reading the note, she left the classroom and followed the directions. The dungeons were normally cold but during the winter, it was colder. She could practically see her breath as she walked along the dimly lit corridor. She made a right turn and walked down another long corridor then turned left. In the distance she saw the familiar figure of Severus who was waiting for her. A smile spread on her lips and decided to mess with him.

Severus on the others hand, waited patiently for his girl. He was leant against the stone wall, his thoughts only about her. He heard a shuffling sound but there was no one around. He didn't think anything of it, but still kept his guard up. He paced back and forth then jumped in fright when Athena appeared out of nowhere.

"Bloody hell, Athena!" He hissed as she laughed into her hands.

"Surprised?"

He rolled his eyes and scoffed. She had a tendency of playing tricks on him. He almost wished she didn't pick up on Fred and George Weasleys bad influence.

"If you call giving me a, heart attack, a surprise" he mumbled.

"Nice to see you too darling. So what are we doing here?" She asked curiously.

He smiled.

"I thought that it was time for a change and meet some place more, appropriate" he drawled

Athena looked around the empty dark corridor. "Here? I mean, I like the idea of sneaking around but won't we get caught out here?"

Severus rolled his eyes and kissed her lips.

"Silly girl"

He walked over to the opposite wall and mumbled a password. Athena gasped when the wall turned into a door and he opened it.

"After you" he said motioning for her to go inside.

The Gryffindor did and to her amazement she saw that she was in a living room. There was a long black plush couch with green pillows, a fireplace, a few bookshelves, another entry way that led to a kitchen. There were two large windows- which she had no idea how that could be possible since they were in the dungeons. There was a lit chandelier that gave the room light and over all it was a nice room and very homey feeling.

"Wait. Is this your private chambers?"

"It is. The password is Phoenix" Severus said rather shyly. Athena melted at the sight of him.

"My middle name is the password? I feel honored"

"Well it's an honor to be your boyfriend" he said sliding his arms around her waist.

Athena was grinning like a child. She knew they were dating and together but this was the first time he mentioned a title.

"And it's an honor to be your girlfriend" she said placing her lips on his.

Severus kissed her a little roughly. He gripped her waist tightly pulling her closer to him. The fear of getting caught disappeared into nothing since they had more of a private place to meet. Severus sat on the couch pulling her to his lap. She undid the buttons of his coat as well as the white shirt he wore under. They never went past that but she couldn't deny that she ached for him.

"We can't stay long. We still need to go to dinner" he mumbled over her lips.

"I know. Just a few minutes more" she whispered before attacking his lips again and allowed his tongue to explore the inside of her mouth.

Severus slid his hands under her jumper, his fingertips gently trailing down her skin making her shiver. His hands ran down her body until they ended at her hips. He held them tight before he turned them so that she was now under him. Athena wrapped her legs around his waist, pulling him so close that she could feel his lower area getting hard. Severus groaned and pulled away from her a little, knowing that they needed to stop before they went too far. Her cheeks were a tint of red and she smiled at him shyly.

"We really...need to go" he pointed out as he rubbed his hands on her thighs.

"I wish we could stay here forever " Athena sighed while she and Severus got off the couch.

"I know. Me too" he said grabbing her chin and pecking her lips.

He fixed himself up and she did so as well, both of them wanting to look presentable. The feelings Severus has for Athena were indescribable. There is so much he wanted to say to her and yet he couldn't find the words. As he stared at her now, he knew that he would do anything for her. He would give his life for her if it ever came down to it.

"Athena, I-" Severus cut himself short.

She gave him a questioning look.

"I hope I make you happy" he said deciding not to say what he originally wanted to say.

"Severus, of course you do! You've made me the happiest girl alive! You have no idea how happy you make me"

He brushed her cheek with his thumb, admiring the beauty that is Athena Phoenix Westenra. He didn't know how he could be so possibly lucky to have such a goddess in his life.

"You make me happy too. The happiest I've ever been in a very long time"

Happier than when I was in love with Lily.

Athena brushed her hand through his soft dark hair. She couldn't believe that he was hers. Not once in her life did she think she could ever have this. But being with Severus, she knew now what she wanted for her future. She just wished the faces from her past would remain in the past...

Athena was the first to leave Severus's private
chambers and he would wait ten minutes. It would be weird if they were to arrive together. And with Umbridge sticking her nose into everyone's business, the last thing the couple needed was her asking questions.

"There she is! How's the back, Thena?" George asked her once she sat down.

"Ask me that tomorrow"

Everyone laughed. Katie sent her friend a teasing smile and motioned to one of Athena's buttons. She quickly buttoned her button. Thankfully, no one noticed, except for a certain Slytherin. Athena locked eyes with Draco, who had a look of regret in his eyes. She hadn't spoken to him in days and she was not planning to for a long time. It was real shitty what he's been saying about her. They weren't friends but it felt like a friend hurt her.

A few moments later, Severus walked in along with a few Hufflepuffs and a Ravenclaw who were the last ones to arrive. Snape didn't look at her as he walked past the Gryffindors table towards his own seat at the head table. The feast began and as usually he ate quietly and would occasionally talk to McGonagall.

His eyes would wander over to the pool of Gryffindors and latch on to the sight of Athena. The way her nose scrunches up when she laughs, the way she would brush her hand behind her ear when it was bothering her, he would notice every detail.

Next to him, Minerva noticed his lingering eyes on Athena. At first she thought he was just keeping an eye on his own students at the Slytherin table but when she observed closely, she realized that it was the blond he was staring at.

"So, Severus. How is Athena doing in your class?" She asked trying  to make more small talk with him.

"Shockingly she's doing well. Still likes to run that mouth of hers" he sneered now glaring at Athena.

Minerva hummed. She didn't realize it before but now some things started to make a little sense. Of course she wasn't going to jump to conclusions but she would have to keep a closer eye on her goddaughter. For a while she had an inkling that something was going on.

The next morning, Athena woke up without a sore back- which she was very happy about. She was rather looking forward to her day despite Hogwarts already losing its light thanks to the old toad Umbridge. She along with Ginny, Hermione, Leanne and the Patil twins made their way to the great hall for breakfast. Today was the first Quidditch match of this term and everyone was excited.

"GRYFFINDOR! GRYFFINDOR! GRYFFINDOR!" The entire Gryffindor table started chanting as Harry, Katie, Fred, George and the rest of the Gryffindor Quidditch team entered the great hall.

"Well, you're looking festive in red and gold" Theo said now standing next to Athena. He chuckled at the red and gold letters on her cheek that spelled out Gryffindor and a face of a lion on the other cheek.

"I gotta support the team you know! But don't worry, I'll be cheering for you too" she promised.

"Are you now? Wouldn't your friends see you as a traitor?" Draco said having joined the duo.

"Who's the ferret?" She asked Theo, pretending that a furry creature was talking to her.

Draco scowled when Theo laughed. Athena rolled her eyes at the blond and noticed Hermione who was waving to her so they could go. The match would be starting soon and her friend wanted to get good seats.

"Good luck Theo" Athena said giving him a hug then walked away, completely ignoring Draco.

"You messed up, mate. And you're lucky she went easy on you" she just barely heard Theo tell Draco.

It was freezing. Leave it to Hogwarts for allowing a rough game to be played during a blizzard. There were cheers all around. Athena and her friends were jumping and cheering for Harry and the rest of the Gryffindor team.

"Go Harry!! Woooo!!" Ron shouted next to her.

"Go Harry Potteeeeerrrrrr!!" Athena screamed.

Athena watched in awe at the match happening before her eyes. She let out a cheer for Katie and her friends and even for Theo, not caring about the looks she was receiving from her fellow housemates. The game seemed to be going well and the she saw that Harry spotted the snitch. He went after it with Draco hot on his trail. They both were very determined to catch it.

"Oh no" Ginny gasped watch as Draco tried to shove Harry.

The platinum blond looked angrier than usual. Everyone could see it as he tried to get the snitch. Harry was shouting at him about something but no one could hear due to all the noise. Athena got a bad feeling about this and kept her eyes on the two.

However, something else caught her eye. Not too far up in the sky, Athena saw a bird; a Sparrow Hawk to be specific. Her eyes widened in recognition and watched as the hawk flew down and practically bumped into Draco. This caused him to bump into Harry in the process. Harry was knocked off his broom and plummeted down to the snow covered ground. It all happened too fast and Dumbledore wasn't able to stop him from hitting the ground. The good thing was that Harry wasn't too far up in the sky but still, he might have broken a bone or two.

Everyone gasped once Harry landed on the fluffy snow. It was unexpected. Without thinking, Athena hopped over the stand and jumped down from it.

"What are you doing!!!?!" Ron screamed in horror watching as Athena jumped off the structure. She landed swiftly on the snow and ran towards Harry who was groaning in pain.

"Harry! Harry. Where is it hurting?! Are you okay?" Athena asked falling on her knees besides him.

"It's my arm" he hissed. "And maybe a couple of ribs" he added. He proceeded to open his hand and the golden snitch hovered over his palm.

"Harry caught the Snitch! Gryffindor Wins!" Everyone claps but Athena and Harry ignore it.

"H-How did you do that?" Draco asked landing next to them.

Athena only ignored him and started calling for help. Thankfully, Dumbledore and the rest of the Professors were already walking towards them with Madam Hootch. She watched as Harry was taken away and stood up. Draco was still staring at her. His eyes boring into hers.

"How did you do that?" Draco repeated having seen her jump from the stands.

Severus was next to Draco, he too was wondering how Athena was not limping. He was shocked to have seen her land on the ground as if she didn't just jump off a building.

"Adrenaline does marvelous things, Malfoy" Athena said looking up into the sky watching as the hawk flew off into the distance...

Athena had been on edge for the remainder of the morning and afternoon. Thankfully, classes were cut short because of the Quidditch game. Harry would be okay, another thing she was thankful for but she couldn't get the scene out of her head. Dumbledore called it a freak accident but Athena knew better. She picked at her food not feeling up to eating at the moment. She felt it in her stomach that something bad was going to happen.

"I'm just glad that Harry is going to be alright. It's mad that the bird came out of nowhere" Katie sighed. She too was a little shaken up.

Feeling eyes on her, Athena looked over to the head table and saw that Severus was already looking her way. She gave him a weak smile knowing that he was worried about her.

Suddenly, a black and brown owl landed in front of her, dropping a familiar purple envelope. Athena knew it was from her mum. She was going to ignore it but her gut told her to open it.

Athena,

I was hoping that you and I could evade this, but it seems we no longer can. A Delores Umbridge had been sending letters nonstop, demanding that your father and I meet with her. I wrote to her already explaining the reason of my absence but she in particularly wants to speak to your father. I fear she might know and if she doesn't already, then it will only be a matter of time.

Please be careful darling. Do not trust that woman. I know you don't want to talk about what happened but I believe it might be time to speak to your grandfather. He will protect you. Also, Sylvie asked me to remind you of your vow. You may have left but you will always be a part of that life. I am sorry I couldn't help you. I'm sorry that things turned out this way.

Be safe my darling.

All my love,

Your mother.

P. S. I fear you might  need to return to Sylvie. Voldemort is growing more powerful each day. A war is coming.

As soon as she read it's contents, her heart dropped. From the corner of her eye, she noticed Umbridge wearing a tiny smile and she internally cursed the woman.

"Athena, are you okay? You're shaking"Hermione stared worriedly.

"I-I have to go" Athena said getting up and calmly left the great hall catching Severus's attention.

As soon as Athena was in the corridor she ran. She ran to the only place she knew she could feel safe. Severus's private chambers. As soon as she entered, Athena let out a scream. She felt as if things were slowly starting to fall apart. Her breathing became heavy, feeling as if the walls were closing in on her. She heard the door open behind her, Severus.

"Athena"

"Severus. I can't do this anymore! I can't keep these damn secrets any longer!"

"Love, calm down. What happened?"

"She knows. Umbridge. She can't possibly know!"

"Know what?" Severus asked calmly, even though on the inside he was thinking that Umbridge found out about them.

Athena handed him her mothers letter. It was deathly silent as he read it, his brows furrowing. Once he was finished, he looks at her.

"You fear she found out a secret you and your mother are keeping" he breaks the silence.

A shiver went up her spine and she wrapped her arms around her self. Severus places his hands on her shoulders and looks into her eyes intently.

"Whatever it is, I understand why you can't talk about it. But you have to trust me, Athena. You can tell me and I swear to you that I will protect you. Just let me, help you"

"That is if you'll want me after I tell you"

It can't be worse than what I'm keeping from you...Severus wanted to tell her.

"There is nothing you can do or say that would scare me away. Tell me" he urged her, the fear in her eyes sent a pain to his chest. All he wanted to do was take her pain away.

"I have a dark past Severus. My father, he, when I was young he sent me off to... I - can I show you instead?" She asked.

Severus knew it was best seeing that she couldn't get the words out. They both sat down on the couch and she allowed him into her mind...

First memory

"How can you do this Nik?! How could you! That's our daughter! Our baby! And you practically sold her to that woman!" Iris screamed at him as little Athena cried silently on the couch, not understanding why her mother and father were arguing.

"She will become something great. Something that this world needs. You know he will return and I doubt your father would be able to stop him. Our world will have a better chance with her and those others!" Nik explained.

Iris scoffed as she paced back and forth, not believing what she was hearing.

"Something great? She is a human being! Not some object! She's not a dog that needs training! She is a child! Your child Nik! You know what they do to those girls! How could you allow this!"

Nikolai turned away from her. He poured himself a scotch and downed the bitter liquid then poured himself another one.

"Look. At. Her." Iris demanded.

Nik didn't move. He just kept staring into the fire place. Athena looked from her dad and then to her mom, her big green eyes glazed over with tears.

"Look at her! Look at your daughter! Damn you! Just look at her!" Iris screamed at her husband and punched his chest.

"That's enough Iris!" He hissed.

"They will break her just like you are breaking this family. I won't let you let them take away my baby. And you know my father would not allow this to happen" Iris said picking up Athena who was five at the time and held her in her arms.

"Your father can't know about this. No one can. It's part of the deal. After all that's why it's called a secret society. You tell your father and Sylvie kills us. And Athena would certainly be left alone in the world"

Iris looked at him incredulously. She no longer saw the man she married. He was replaced with a monster. A power hungry monster...

Second memory

The room was dark and only lit up by over a dozen torches. A group of twenty girls were lined up wearing all black and their hair were pulled back into a braid. A woman, Sylvie, stood in front of the group along with a few hooded men who looked like fighters.

"You are here because you each have a purpose to serve. You are here because you have potential to be something great. We will teach you strength and discipline. We will teach you how to survive and how to fight" Sylvie said.

Severus watched as the girls started combat training. He locked eyes with a younger Athena who was now about seven years old. He observed her for a few moments and saw how good she was. Sylvie gave her a look of approval and sighed when she saw the rest of the little girls.

"You will not only excel in magical defense. But you yourselves will be weapons. Again"

The girls partnered up again and fought. The hooded men had also showed them how to block and throw punches.

The memory skipped and Severus was now watching Athena. She was older, about ten. She was fighting another girl with short black hair. Sylvie watched with interest. It was obvious Athena was one of her best fighters.

Athena flipped the other girl on the ground and held her arm up, hand in a fist. She hesitated when the dark haired girl cried.

"Continue" Sylvie commanded her.

Not having a choice, Athena was forced to hurt the girl. Sylvie motioned for her to come to her and Athena did.

"Weakness will not grant you mercy. It's either kill or be killed. It's for you to decide"

Athena looked at the woman in defiance before she was escorted away. The scene then changed. They were in a dining hall and Athena was the only one sitting at a table all alone. She looked broken and lonely but what he didn't know was that she preferred to be alone. A group of girls passed by her quickly, giving her weary glances.

"Why aren't you sitting with the other girls, Athena?" Sylvie asked now sitting next to her.

"They are afraid of me"

"Not of you. They are afraid of what you can do. The blood that runs through your veins is powerful Magic"

"I'm a freak"

"No. You are spectacular"

Third Memory

This time Severus was standing in what looked like an arena. He watched Athena, who was now fourteen, fighting. The same year they met for the first time. He glared at Sylvie who was smiling at the girl as if she was some prize she had won.

Athena was fighting a man that was ten times her size. This time with weapons. She was swift on her feet, sneaky but he could tell that she was deadly.

She slashed a blade at the man, which he blocked. He sent a kick to her which she dodged and did a flip over him. In doing so, she slipped and fell and Sylvie called for a time out.

"Sloppy. Try again and stop holding back!"

Athena huffed and started fighting the hooded man again. She dodged all of his hits expertly until she finally sent a kick to his head and he landed on the floor with a loud thud.

"Good"

Severus saw more flashes of memories. Memories of Athena being taught dark magic. Her being trained to fight and use weapons. He watched as she was forced to hurt others in combat training and by the end of it, she was covered in their blood.

He was now standing behind her and the woman in charge, was helping her into a black suit. His blood turned cold at how robotic Athena seemed. She was alive but lifeless.

"What if I fail?" an older Athena asked Sylvie

"You never fail"

He saw her now at fifteen going on her first mission with another group of girls her age. He watched her make her first kill, watching as she slit a man's, a wizards throat, and how cold and ruthless she was about it. He watched as she killed countless witches and wizards, none of who were good people to begin with. But Severus was shocked when he recognized the familiar faces of death eaters.

He watched as Athena and the other girls  were taught how to make nightshade and dipped it into arrowheads. He watched as she loaded herself with blades, bow and arrows along with her wand, though something told him she wouldn't need it. Whoever this Sylvie was, had turned Athena along with those girls into weapons.

Final Memory> Two months before Hogwarts

Athena was now sixteen and was fighting a group of men, all wearing black hoods. She was always able to hold her own and was quick in thinking and reacting. She hissed after she had caught a blade that was thrown at her by one of the men. She did a cartwheel also throwing the blade back towards the man's direction in the process.

She slipped out her wand and shot a curse at two of them. They weren't quick enough and were sent flying backwards. The last man standing ran towards her and tried to tackle her, but she rolled on the floor to dodge him. He threw a blade at her and she caught it then threw it back at him. It jabbed itself in his arm but he didn't seem affected by it.

They both fought as if it were life or death even if it was just training. He took out a long blade and slashed it at her. Athena ducked, then swiped her leg under the mans legs making him fall on his back, and she took the long blade from him.

"Beautiful. It's seems you are ready for the ceremony. For you to take your place in the world" Sylvie told her.

"I have no place in the world" Athena said blankly.

"Exactly"

The scene changed and Severus watched as Athena walked into a room. There were guards standing on one side of it and two men on the opposite side. One was knelt down with a bag over their head and another behind him with his long sword pointed at the person.

By the look on Athena's face, Severus knew what she had to do. It killed him that she had to go through this. He cursed himself for not knowing she was holding on to all this pain.

"Now. The ceremony consists of you taking a life. In order for you to have your life and freedom outside these walls. You must take one for yourself. This time it will show us your loyalty. It will cut off any weaknesses"

"Now that Voldemort has returned, you can not afford to hold on to any weaknesses. We fight until we can fight no more. We kill who we need to kill in order to make our world a better place. This is who we are, Athena. This is what we were called to do. Some would see this as cruel but we fight for a cause for a greater purpose"

Sylvie motioned for the hooded man to remove the bag over the persons head. Nikolai Westenra was the man revealed. His eyes widened when he saw Athena and it all became clear to him. The final test. Athena didn't dare move. She remained emotionless, a mixture of emotions swirling in her locked up mind.

"Athena. How much you have grown, moya doch" (my daughter). Nik said giving Athena a smile.

"Sometimes we have to lose those precious to us. Think of it as cutting ties that cling to our hearts. I can imagine the pain you must be feeling. Your dear father, a man who helped bring you into this world and raised you, only to give you up. He took your life and now you take his" Sylvie explained handing Athena her wand then guided her forward towards the man who did this to her.

Athena stared at her father. Her eyes void of any emotion. His wife's words echoed in his mind that have haunted him for the last ten years. 'They will break her', Iris had said. And as he looked at his child now, he saw that his wife was right and he would die with so many regrets.

"Athena. It is going to be okay. You and your mother will get through this. Do you know why? Because my girls, are the toughest girls in the world" Nikolai said as Athena pointed her wand at him.

She was hesitating. Her fathers words caught her off guard. Despite everything, deep down, she did love him.

"Being a daughter of our great mother. We cannot afford to be weak, Athena. Your father made his choice. Now it's up to you to make yours" Sylvie said.

It was a threat. Athena and Nikolai knew what would happen if Athena didn't kill him. It didn't matter anyway if he died. After all, he thought what he did was right but he was wrong.

"Prosti, chto pozvolil etomu sluchit'sya s toboy, Afina. Vozmozhno, odnazhdy ty naydesh' v svoyem serdtse sily prostit' menya"  Nik said to her.

(I'm sorry I let this happen to you, Athena. Perhaps one day you will find the strength in your heart to forgive me.)

"I know. Good bye, papa" Athena told him.

"Avada Kedavra"  she mumbled.

A flash of green filled the room before it faded. Severus watched in horror as the man's body fell lifeless to the floor. Nikolai Westenra  was no more. He looked over to Athena who only stared at her fathers lifeless body, not a single emotion in her green eyes. He did not recognize this Athena, and he became angry that she had to endure this torture all those years.

"Welcome to the Sisterhood. Hecate would be proud, little wolf" Sylvie said.

Severus suddenly felt like he was being pulled away. He tried to grab Athena but she along with everything turned into smoke...

Athena opened her eyes but didn't meet Severus's gaze. She couldn't. She felt too ashamed of everything she did- even if it made her strong. She was turned into a killing machine, a monster for the sake of someday being able to kill another monster. Voldemort.

As soon as she left the Academy, she realized how twisted Sylvie was. She had taught her and the other girls dark arts as well as defense against the dark arts. She had taught them how to disappear and leave no traces that they were there. Sylvie had taught them how to take a life and make it look like an accident.

She suddenly felt arms wrap around her, the familiar scent of Severus engulfing her. He held her tightly in his arms and she felt so safe in them. He held the back of her head in his hands as she nuzzled into him. Athena couldn't cry. She hadn't shed a single tear in years, but if she could cry, she would be bawling right now. Perhaps she truly was broken. A monster.

"You. Are not. A monster" Severus hissed, shaking with anger. "That woman. Sylvie, she is the monster.

"Now you know. Are you going to leave now?" Athena asked blankly.

"What?! Athena, I will never ever leave you! Don't you dare think that for a moment! Do you understand? I won't leave you" Severus explained to her.

Athena sighed and nodded her head. She felt drained. Reliving those memories took a toll on her and now she felt numb because of them. The only way she could hide the pain and numbness was to be the girl she never was. Happy, preppy, silly, everything that a girl her age was. It was a mask and though she did end up becoming that girl, on the inside she was still capable of causing horrors.

"You have to show Dumbledore what you showed me. It's time he knows. He will protect you, I will protect you"

"No one can protect me. And no one could know. You know what will happen"

"I don't care... about what happens to me. As long as you are safe, then that is all that matters"

Severus meant it. He would die before he'd let anyone take her from him. And he would kill anyone that ever tries to make her return to Sylvie.

"Your life matters to me too, Sev. I won't lose you because of this"

Severus ignored her words. "You have to tell your grandfather. If Umbridge knows that you killed your father, Dumbledore may be able to find a way to protect you"

Athena signed knowing she didn't have much of a choice. Her grandfather did need to know about this and she knew that it was going to break his heart. Three minutes later and Severus was leading her to Dumbledore's Office. Minerva was already there which would make this all the more difficult. Severus explained what was going on and just like she thought he would, Albus and Minerva looked into her mind.

It took about fifteen minutes, another fifteen minutes of reliving everything again. Albus and Minerva had broken looks on their faces. The older witch enveloped Athena into a tight hug and cried due to the pain the girl went through. Albus on the other hand didn't say anything. He just sat there at his desk in silence. Everyone knew that he needed some time, the pain evident in his blue eyes.

"How could this happen? What is that place they sent you?" He asked breaking the tense silence.

"The international Secret Academy of Witches. AKA The sisterhood of Hecate" Athena explained.

"Wait. I thought that was a myth" Severus said with a frown.

"Clearly it's very much real. But it's called a Secret Society for a reason. No one knows except for a select few. A few hundred years ago there was an organization called The Society of Witch Huntresses that consisted of female assassins in the Wizarding World. Apparently they were betrayed and the name was brought to light in the world. So the organization was shut down, the women disappeared and a few hundred years later, it was created again under a different name" Athena explained.

"The world doesn't know about us and we- they like to keep it that way. We are not only trained to be weapons, assassins, killers or whatever you want to call us. We are also trained to be ghosts" she added.

Severus perked up at that revelation. It made so much sense now why Athena could become invisible. She had the ability to actually become a ghost, to become invisible.

"Merlin's beard! How could Iris- your mother let this happen!" Dumbledore surprised everyone by his outburst.

"Mother didn't have much say in the matter or a choice. Father was the one who made the arrangements. If mother had told you or anyone about it, she would be dead"

Albus sighed heavily. For the first time in his life he felt so helpless and like he failed. Had he known about this he would have stopped it. He now knew the reason why Iris wasn't responding to his letters. She was ashamed.

"I'm so sorry Athena. It should have never happened. If I would have known I would have..." Dumbledore stopped himself knowing his words might trigger Athena.

"I'll take care of Umbridge. This stays between the four of us. Understood? No one can know about this" everyone agreed and Athena felt better now that her grandfather, Minerva and Severus knows about what she had been keeping.

Athena made her way out of the room but Severus stayed since Albus asked to speak to him. She thought nothing of it and decided to go visit Harry at the Hospital Wing. Once she walked in, his face brightened at the sight of her.

"Hey Harry. How are you feeling?" She asked taking a seat in a chair next to his bed.

"Like I fell out of the sky and face planted on the ground" he groaned.

"Well you kinda did" Athena laughed lightly.

Harry reached for the glass on the side table but she got it instead. She handed it to him and watched as he took a sip of water.

"I wish I had something stronger than just water" Harry grumbled.

Athena grinned as she rummages through her small cross body bag she was carrying with her. She pulled out two small bottles.

"Well. I have fire whiskey and my very favorite, Vodka"

Harry made a cringe face remembering when he tried vodka for the first time. "I'll take the fire whiskey"

"Ah. Yes. Here is your apple juice" she teased handing him the small bottle.

Harry rolled his eyes, a smile spreading on his lips. He proceeded to twist open the cap and took a whiff of the wizard drink. He crinkled his nose. Despite liking the drink itself, he hates that it smelled terrible.

"Don't fancy the smell" he said.

"Considering that half of the students in this school drink it. I'd say it's smells like teen spirit. Cheers to winning the game, Harry, and surviving for the hundredth time"

"Cheers" they clink their little bottles and take a sip.

Harry makes a face causing Athena to laugh. They near footsteps and both scramble to hide their alcoholic drinks. Madam Pomfrey approaches them and let's Athena know that Harry needs to rest. The medi witch leaves after that and Harry rolls his eyes.

"I'll see you later then. I'm glad you're okay, Harry" Athena told him, giving his hand a squeeze.

Harry stares at her for a moment then wrapped his good arm around her, pulling her into a hug. "Thank you, Thena" He mumbled into her hair before letting go.

Athena ruffled his already messy hair before leaving the infirmary. Dinner was going to
start soon, but Athena wasn't hungry. She was still worried and upset about earlier.

"So you and Potter huh?" A voice said.

She looked up to see Draco leaning against the wall. He had his arms crossed and a scowl on his face. Nothing new.

"What are you talking about, Malfoy?"

"He's the one you've been seeing, right? I mean. It makes sense. You coming to his rescue the last two times, and just now when you were kissing him" Draco explained.

Athena was stunned to say the least. She wondered where he got the idea that she and Harry were dating.

"Wait, were you spying on us?"

Draco looked like a deer caught in the headlights. He didn't know how to back himself out of this. He was spying on them, but he didn't want Athena to know.

"No! Why the bloody hell would I do that?!" He spat.

"Whatever. What do you care if Harry was my boyfriend or not? Why the sudden interest in my love life?"

"Is he?"

"What's it to you"

"Just answer the question!"

"He's not my boyfriend! But I bet that won't stop you from calling me a whore"

Draco instantly looked to the floor. He knew she wouldn't forgive him for that rumor he spread. She didn't deserve it. Even he knew that Athena was possibly one of the kindest people he had ever met. He would never admit to that though.

"You're right. It won't. You filthy half blood!" Draco spat.

Athena grabbed him by the neck and slammed him against the wall. There was a slicing sound and blood was dripping out of Draco a mouth. Athena smirked, watching the fear in his silver eyes. She pulled out the blade she usually kept with her, her hand stairs with Draco's blood...

She snapped out of her trance and met Draco's eyes that were wide in shock. He was against the wall and she quickly backed away from him. He noticed the fear in her eyes while she looked at her hands. In her mind she could see them stained with his blood, but in reality, Draco was okay and unharmed.

"Athena?" Draco asked cautiously, seeing that she was still staring at her shaking hands.

"I-I'm sorry" she whimpered.

Draco reached out to touch her arm but she flinched away. She didn't trust her self. She couldn't trust that she won't hurt him.

"Don't! Don't. I need- I have to go" she said and walked away quickly, leaving Draco standing there.

Athena locked herself in her room. She didn't want to talk nor be around anyone. Her mental state wasn't at its best in the moment and she needed space to calm herself. She couldn't sleep at all. Her eyes had been staring up at the canopy of her bed while being engulfed with the memories of her past. She remembered all the death she caused. The blood that stained her hands and clothes after a mission. The screams of her victims. Even though she killed bad people, their screams and their looks of horror will always haunt her.

The girl was very well aware of the threats that came with along with her. She was a threat in itself. If Voldemort managed to get her, no doubt he would use her as his weapon. She thought of how much danger Severus, Minerva and Dumbledore were in solely because they knew her secret, they knew of the Sisterhood. Athena had a choice to make and one she had already made up her mind about.

She slipped out of bed and put on her coat then her combat boots. Athena stealthily made her way out of the common room then out of the castle. Snow was falling from
the sky, giving the grounds of Hogwarts an eerie feel to it. But she wasn't easily scared. She went further down the hill towards the black lake and waited. She didn't need to wait long because the sound of flapping sounded behind her followed by a voice a few seconds after.

"I was beginning to wonder when you would come find me..."

Is there any Black Widow fans? This chapter was inspired by the movie and the Red Room.

So now we know Athena's secret! And if
you think it stops there, you're wrong! Lol.

Umbridge has been digging into Athena's life. And now that we know that her dad is, well, dead, will Umbridge find that out?

We are going to see more of Athena's time in The sisterhood of Hecate, and also see her in action. And we miiiight get a little more action between Severus and Athena next chapter, iykyk 😉.

It's obvious that Professor McGonagall is suspicious of Severus and Athena. And it's clear that Harry has a crush on her as well but he might not be the only one.

Any predictions on what is going to happen next?
