"okay what do you think about venue ??" jazz asked coming into my room making me look up. she showed me her laptop.

"ouuu that's so beautiful. i love it" i said looking  at the price & yall the way my pockets jumped lol.

"it's fine ma imma pay for it" she chuckled making me giggle.

"girl no lol. we gone go half and half so it'll be easier. im down for wtv just as long as i get to marry you" i said.

"mommy i can't get my hair into this ponytail" lay whined walking into my room.

"come here lemme help you mama" jazz said picking her up.

"she has so much hair omg" i said admiring it.

"yeah i been trying to cut it but she won't let me"

"because it's so beautiful" lay said.

"it is beautiful baby but it's a lot for you're age and i think it'll be easier for you to manage." jazz said.

"so did yo hair look like that before you locked it ??" i asked jazz.

"yeah and i locked it for this exact reason. no matter how many times i cut it ts grew back in like 2 months" she said.

"oh guess what i got" lay said handing jazz a card.

"what is it ?" i asked getting up.

"so apparently little miss lay got invited to sleep over" she said poking lay's stomach making her giggle.

"okay you're ponytail is fixed" jazz said.

"thanks mommy" lay said kissing her cheek before jumping down and running out of the room.

"so.. you letting her go ?" i asked.

"lol absolutely not. and as much as i love she's making friends and they invited her i will never trust anyone outside of my family, you and the team to let her sleep over" she said setting it down.

"that's understandable.. but what happens if all the other girls get to go and she doesn't" i asked.

"that part will always be the downfall of it all but if it means protecting my child that so be it."

"h*ll they can sleep over here but baby she not sleeping at nb house" she said shaking her head.

"yeah that makes sense. and i actually read a few weeks ago that a boy went to a sleepover and his friends poured boiling hot water on him as a prank" i said shaking my head.

"exactly and i would hate to have to beat some kids tf down about my kid. and they mama can get it too" she said shrugging.

"well i can start planning trips for her lol cus i do not wanna see her sad" i said.

"me either but one day she'll understand" jazz said.

"so any specific dates you wanna get married on ??" she asked.

"no idm as long as it's warm weather cus we both don't like cold weather" i said and she nodded.

"yk when i picked lay up from school i noticed she has all yo features now. like yo genes are everyone on that little girl" i said making her smile at me.

"omg that makes me so happy cus she looked like her uglyahh daddy for so long. i had a hard time excepting that she looked like him" she said.

"well she looks just like you now lol. hair and everything" i said.

"so have you heard from a'ja ??" she asked.

"no unfortunately. which is weird cus i did absolutely nothing to her for her to acting the way she acting towards me"

"and if i did she grown and know how to communicate ts with me" i added and i nodded.

"so i wanted to talk to you about the little sleepover" i said sitting down on her bed.

"can i go please ?? this is my first time getting invited" she begged making me sign and shake my head.

"baby yk how i feel about sleepovers. it's not safe" i said.

"but they are my friends" she said.

"and sometimes they don't be yo friends. and ik yall only between 5-7 but these parents are just as bad. folks be doing unforgivable stuff" i said as jack stood in the doorway with her arms crossed over her chest.

"so i can't go" she said and ofc the attitude was activated.

"lay it's complicated" i said sighing.

"who doesn't let their kids have fun ??" she said making me mug her.

"don't play with me naleyah. i never really tell you no. im not putting my kid in danger so honestly you can forget about it" i said.

"sure" she said grabbing her book. and i just shook my head cus she might only be 5 but her mouth been smart asf since the day she could talk.

"hey you okay ?" jackie asked sitting down on the other side of her bed.

"mhm that's her" she said making me mug her.

"and what about me ?? what did i do ?" i asked.

"you're being mean and strict" she said shrugging

"girl you're 5 years old how you even know what strict mean" i asked.

"i been studying from my book" she replied quickly not looking up from her book.

"well that explains why her teacher wants her to get moved up" jack said laughing lightly.

"im not being strict lay im just protecting you. this world cruel asf" i said.

"hey you wanna watch you're favorite movie ?? i'll buy you strawberries" jack said making her smile and nod.

"okay let's do it" she said. lay ran out of the room to set the movie up in the movie room.

"you're the reason she's so spoiled" i said with a chuckle.

"lol.. my girl was getting upset so i had to do something. wanna join us ?" she asked.

"can't i have a client in 15 but thank you" i said kissing her cheek.

i walked to my room and grabbed my phone and laptop and went to my office to set up. just by the way she act now im scared for teenage lay.

but she's to young to understand that people in the real world aren't as sweet as they seem. she's only 5 so she has so much trust for people.

"hey you're doing so good. and ik that she doesn't understand but she will when she gets older" jack said wrapping her arms around my neck.

"thank you ma. i really needed that cus she's so sassy lol. she really ate me up when strict flew out her mouth" i joked making her laugh.

"no fr cus you are 5 years old why do you know the meaning of that ??" jack said.

"jack jack come on its about to start" lay said.

"good luck with your client" she smiled at me.

"preciate it bae" i said as we kissed. i looked at my watch and grabbed my coffee walking to my office.

i mostly work from home because a little after new years lay got really sick and she was in and out the hospital so i decided to use my home office.

it's been a rollercoaster ofc. ion want my daughter thinking i don't want her to have fun or live her life but it gets to a point and her sleeping over at someone else's house from school draw the line for me.
