flashback.. 4 months earlier| jackie's pov.

i walked into our apartment shared with my gf kb. i was prepared for an argument because lately all we've been doing is arguing.

we been dating for almost 2 year and i never saw the insecure side of her up until later into our relationship. it's like she felt like i didn't love her.

walking in, i exhaled and set my bags down. it was quiet in here which was usual cus usually kb would be blasting 90s r&b through the house.

"where you been ?" she asked making me jump.

"i had a boxing session & then a'ja and i went out to lunch" i said hoping my regular scheduled day wouldn't set her off.

"you ain't see me calling ?" she asked.

"it's dead. we got home so late last night i fg to put it on the charger and i left the house with it on 15%" i said walking towards the kitchen.

"so who else you been with ?" kb asked.

"nb i told you i had a boxing session and then a'ja and i caught lunch together. ian have a reason to be with nb else ion even like people fr and you of all people should know that" i said.

"why tf you sassing me ?" she asked getting loud.

"because it's you constantly being insecure asf kb" idk normally i would never say that but it just gets to a point.

"jackie don't p*ss me off. you don't think i know about you going to the club ??" she asked.

"i went with the team kb & you were supposed to come too but since you wanted to be p*ssy and in yo feelings you decided not to show up" i said raising my voice.

i just know the neighbors get tired of hearing us argue but h*ll kb be doing the most. like this is the most insecure girl i have ever met.

"ion gaf jackie that's not the point. you expect me to be okay with the fact that you was throwing a** meanwhile im here ?" she yelled.

"oh you mean on a'ja ?? MY BEST FRIEND. who may i mind you not gay and has a whole bf. you insecure asf kb and ts is not cute at all."

"im grown asf i can do wtv tf i want and i shouldn't have to worry about nobody being mad about it".

"you in a whole a** relationship jacquelyn" she argued.

"yeah im aware of that but me dancing on my best friend is not the same thing as me dancing on someone random."

"ts is disrespectful" she yelled.

"you act like i f*cked a random person. it's not that d*** serious kb. you and i both know a'ja so why does it bother you so much"

"if you hadn't got upset about something so dumb and actually came out with the team then yeah maybe i could've threw a** on you but no you wanted to be mad asf."

"aight bro. im done with ts i refuse to argue with yo disrespectful a**" she said grabbing her phone and keys making me sigh.

"ofc leave like you always do. you childish asf this why we will never be able to move pass nun of this sh** cus you always wanna leave"

"what else do you want from me jackie ?? you don't see nun wrong with what im saying".

"tell me how tf you feel kb. if you would sit down and say this is why i feel the way i feel then maybe we would get somewhere but you can't never do that"

"you childish asf bro. you need to grow up and learn how to communicate cus ts is sad" i said.

"tf you say ?" she asked getting in my face.

"you childish kb"

"ionk who tf you think you talking to like that" she said as she used her right fist to punch me in the face.

i hit the ground holding my face. and no this ain't the first time that she's ever put her hands on me.

"get tf up bro" she said. i just sat there trying to think about what tf to do next cus this gone be swollen and bruised by tomorrow.

"and you better not tell them sh**" i said as we walked side by side to the locker room.

"I GOTTA QUESTION FOR YA" syd sang as we walked in making me laugh.

"hey lovely couple" chels said making me smile.

"wassup to the gays, the theys, and the straights" i said making them laugh.

"hey bestie" a'ja said hugging jackie tightly.

"hey boo" she smiled.

"omg jack wtf happened to your face ??" tip asked as she used my chin to hold up my head.

"just a boxing accident" she said shaking her head.

"well dang, they must got beef with you" syd joked making her giggle.

"yeah you wouldn't believe it" she said.

deep down i hate seeing my gf like this. and ik that i have anger issues and it's not right for me to be hitting her but at the same time this girl don't see no wrong and what she did.

it was honestly just the heat of the moment i never plan on hitting her at all.

"jack it's hot asf in here why are you wearing a long sleeve ?" kp asked.

"it's cold outside lol. yall know ion really like cold weather" she said.

"yall we should do matching pj's tonight"  ac suggested.

"let's do it" megan said excitedly.

"so how bad does your face hurt ?" queen asked making me look over at jackie.

"uhh i'd give it a 5. i iced it all day yesterday but the hit was so hard. you would think they were tryna kill me" she said making me heart fall.

i hate hurting her but sometimes she just really p*ss me off. and the way she disrespected me and called me childish was the last straw.

"jackie you're sitting out today" becky said sticking her head in the door.

"coach im fine i can handle it" jack said quickly.

"nope rest" she said.

everyone walked onto the court and i stayed behind.

"what ? you gone beat my a** again ?" she asked putting her long sleeve back on.

"no. im sorry jack. i never meant to hurt you it's just when you called me childish it kind made me mad cus i don't how to express how i feel" i admitted.

"and that's all you had to say kb. instead of yelling and getting so upset you could've told me you're not good at it and we could've worked on it".

"ik and im sorry about hurting you. i never meant for it to happen and i promise i will do better" i said hugging her.

"it's okay baby. im sorry i hurt your feelings. it wasn't my intentions" she said lightly.

"you good.. i love you and i don't wanna lose you" i said.

"i love you more" she said leaning up to kiss me.

afterwards i quickly ran out on the court where everyone else was and jack down at the table since becky is making her sit out.

i really do love jackie and hurting her will never be apart of who i am. i messed up and i take full accountability for what i did.

im hoping both of us can move past this and focus on bettering our relationship and making it as healthy as possible.

"LETS GO TIPP" they yelled as she got ready to shoot a half court shot.

"HEYYYY" we yelled when it went it.

"kb yo turn stud money" ac said making me laugh cus she be calling me that for some odd reason.

i did a little shoulder shake and threw the ball up and it went it make me do a little dance celebration .

"AIGHT NIE BABY" jack said making me wink at her cus she shy. 

"that's a shocker" kiah said making me run over to her and playfully wrap my arm around her neck.

"why you hating" i said.

"okay im sorry" she said giving in.

"yeah that's what i thought" laughing.

we finished up practice and i decided i was gonna take jack to her fav restaurant so we could talk about our fight. i wanna make this work with her.
