Y/N's POV

"S-Summer?" I stuttered to say her name.

I stood in front of a corpse yht belongs to one of my dearest friends, Summer Rose. The figure who was a few meters away from us was the demon, the being that was trapped in that cursed book.

"That's what happens when you use that spell. Your curse will forever be your bad luck." The demon spoke at me.

"Summer, please wake up." I kneel down and started to nudge her.

But to no avail she won't move. My eyes widen as I only remain knelling in front of her with my arms hanging by my sides.

"No...... It can't be..."

The demon then let out a dark chuckle then he raised his arm forming a ball of dark energy.

".......But I can end your curse by ending your life. Then you won't have to mourn in front of your loved ones' corpses anymore!"

I slowly stand up and look at the demon with wrath. I grip on my dagger and boost myself up with my semblance.

"I'll..... I'll put you back where you belong!"

"You fool!"

I immediately open my eyes and gasp when I sit up from my bed. My breathing quickened but it soon started to go back to normal. Sighing, I look to my side to see Ruby sleeping while hugging her stuffed animal.

Remembering that memory made me guilty. I couldn't even protect my adopted daughter's biological mother. She started to open her eyes and looks at me then gave me a smile.

"Good morning daddy." She adorably said.

"Good morning to you too, Rubes." I gently rub her head.

She sits up from the bed and stretched her arms, she got off the bed and looks at me.

"I'll go wake Yang up." She happily said then walks out off the room with a smile.

"I guess she slept well." I whisper to myself.

I look at my hands and saw something off. Both of the back of my hands have black crests on it. I didn't remember of having this so it just leaves one thing.

"(It's going to happen to me again real soon...)"

I then got out of the bed as well and went to the bathroom to get showered. After that, I wore my attire and began preparing breakfast for the three of us. When I finished cooking, I put the food on each plate and soon we started eating. Since it's Sunday today, I remembered that I have a date with Raven, so I grab my scroll and texted her.

"Who you're texting to dad?" Yang ask.

"Just some.... acquaintance of mine." I lied.

"Oh.." She said then soon began eating again.

"(I rather not tell about Raven right now.)"

After a few minutes, I received a message from Raven and the reply is that she was busy. I guess the date won't be happening right now. But then I received a message from Ozpin that he wanted me to visit him due to some important matters.

Sighing, I think if I should really go there or just decline and stay here with my daughters. But then again, Ozpin wouldn't be messaging me if there's nothing important.

I look at the two girls and saw them finally finished eating. They got off their seats and put the plates on the kitchen counter. Probably I have to bring them there since I don't want to rely on Arthur on watching them again.

"Ruby, Yang." I called for them.

"Huh?" They both look at me confused.

"You two should take a bath now. The three of us are going to Beacon." I calmly said.

"Beacon, as in Beacon Academy? Ruby ask.

"Yes." I answered.

"Really?! Yay!" They immediately rushed around the house and the two of them started to take a bath.

I chuckled at their reaction and began to wash the dishes.

"(I know it's a bad idea but..... They wanted to see Beacon after all. Totally a bad idea.)"

After everything's done, Yang and Ruby were finally finished taking a bath and now in their attire.

"Are you two ready?" I ask.

"Yes!" They both said.

The three of us got of the house and I locked the door. We walked a few blocks away and arrived in front of the bullhead that was waiting for us. We got inside and sit down with Ruby sitting on my lap.

It was a quiet trip since we didn't talk much but I could assume that Ruby is excited to visit Beacon. After the ride we arrive in the academy and got off the bullhead. I look at Ruby and Yang and saw their faces plastered with an amazed expression.

"It's huge!" Ruby said.

"It is, let's get inside now." I hold onto their hands and enter the academy.

The moment we enter inside, I spotted a familiar person that has small wings in their back. That's when I realized who the person is when they turn around.

"Karra?" I said.

"Wait, Y/N?" She said.

"Oh it is you!" She then rush towards me and was about to do something familiar but I stop her by locking her head in my arm.

"You never changed, do you?" I said.

"So do you!" She yelled.

I let go of her then felt someone tug my shirt.

"Daddy, who's she?" Ruby ask.

"She's once my teammate when I'm attending Beacon. Her name is Karra, how about you say hi?" I said to them.

Karra proceeds to kneel down and gave the both of them a loving smile.

"Nice to meet you two! Just like your dad here said, my name's Karra. What are tiers?" She ask.

"My names Ruby!" She smiled.

"I'm Yang. Nice to meet you Ms. Karra." She said.

"Hey Karra. Can I ask why you are here?" I said to her.

"I can ask you the same thing. Ozpin actually called me here due to important matters." She replied.

"Wait, you too?" I said.

"So you were also called here? That's wierd, I wonder what's so important that he called us. We should go to his office now." She said standing up.

"Sure but I'll leave these two in Peter's hands for now. Don't want anything to happen to them." I said as we started walking.

"Aww what a nice dad you are!" She teased.

"Stop that." I said.

We got into the staff room and I knock the door. Inside the room were a few teachers, Peter and Bartholomew.

"Hey Peter." I called.

"Ahh Y/N, Karra. You both are finally here. Professor Ozpin is in his office waiting for you two." He said.

"I see, if you wouldn't mind can you watch over Ruby and Yang here for now and perhaps give them a trip around the academy." I ask.

"Hmm, I don't see why not. So these two are your daughter's huh?" He said.

"Hello!" Ruby smiled widely at them.

"Such an adorable child she is." Bartholomew said.

"Okay then, Ruby, Yang make sure you don't cause any trouble here you got that?" I ask them.

"Got it!" They both said.

"All right, let's go now." Me and Karra then got out of the staff room and started walking.

"Do you have any idea on why we are called for?" Karra ask.

"No. All I know that it is important."

We enter inside the elevator and press a button. After waiting for a few seconds we reached to where Ozpin's office is and to our surprise, the others are there as well.

"Finally, Y/N, Karra. We've been waiting for you." Ozpin said.

Aside from Ozpin, Glynda, John, Arthur, Qrow and Raven were there. The both of us step closer and look at Ozpin with a serious expression.

"Can you explain to me why are we here?" I said.

"Yeah, we've been waiting here for quite a while now." John said.

"Right, I'll go down to that now. Y/N, I'm asking you this..... Where did hide the boo?" He said.

"No one needs to know where I hid it. And why are we talking about this?" I ask.

"Well about that, we both know the being that was trapped inside there correct?" Ozpin said.

I nodded in response and waited for him to speak. But Glynda was the one to explain to us what happened.

"Eventually someone must have discovered the book and use it to cause havoc on one of the towns here in Vale." She said.

All of us were shock to here this as I tried to remain calm.

"How is that even possible?" Raven said.

"We aren't sure of it either, and that's why I called all of you here to help us search for the person and book." Ozpin said.

"But how will we know where is it?" Arthur ask.

"None of you will be doing this mission but me." I said to them.

"What? Are you out of your mind right now?" Qrow said.

"It is my fault that the someone had found the book, I was the one who casted that forbidden spell and that's why I'll be the one to fix this." I said looking at my hand which is wearing a glove.

"Do you want to die or something? 'Cause that book contains powerful spells that might cause you death if it's casted on you." Karra said to me.

I then sighed and look at them disappointed.

"You don't understand do you? Your lives are the that is more in danger, not mine." I said bluntly.

"What do you mean?" Glynda ask.

"Simple, due to using that spell. It had casted me an unremovable curse." I explained.

All of them gaze at me in disbelief until Ozpin stand up and looks at me.

"What curse do you mean?"
