When your tenebrae life ended (Part 3: Tenebrae-Series)
based on this ask on my tumblr blog:
ohhh, may I request a third part for that tenebra series pretty pleaaase?
Your lifeless body starts to tremble, so hard that the seizures cause it to slip from the wanderer's tail tip and let it slump to the blood-soaked ground where it continues to squirm and move in uncontrollable movements.
The earth starts to rumble, and a warm light starts to emanate from where your aether core resides, lifting your body in the air. Floating the light embraces your body completely, rises, and explodes in a radiant glow that enlightens the nearby area like broad daylight. A second later it's gone in an instant, and your body falls to the ground, causing a wheezing sound out of your throat.
The hole in your chest is gone, no more blood is dripping out of it, instead your chest heaves in deep ups and downs.
You open your eyes just to stare into an endless dark sky, sprayed with stars that glow faintly in the night blue eternity.
His mind has gone numb, his uniform drenched in blood he's sitting in as he suddenly hears a strange thud.
Looking up from his slouched posture only to see your body squirming and trembling in an expressly bright yellow light that blinds him, making it impossible to see anything. As it's safe to open his blue eyes again and the light is gone, he can't believe is his eyes.
You're breathing, and the life has returned to your eyes, staring into the night sky above. Never before was Xavier so quick to his feet, stumbling closer to you, leaning above your former dead body only to be greeted by your gaze that now looks at him.
The former prince of Philos can't help himself and smiles at you widely and relieved, taking your face in both of his hands tenderly.
"You live! You came back to me, Angel. I don't know how, but you're back."
But you just look at him, your eyes showing no sign of recognition. A blank empty stare that shows nothing of your former radiating self.
Zayne doesn't know how much time has passed with him staring motionless at the little screen on his phone, only feeling hollow and numb, as the alarm goes on again. First, he doesn't trust his senses, his wishful thinking might be stronger than reality, but then he sees it, the little heart of the monitor beating again, slowly but steadily.
"This is impossible..."
Did the connection get lost? Did something cause a software failure? No, that can't be, the alarm wouldn't go off in that case. In the darkness of his bedroom, he tries not to hope for a miracle. Are you really alive again?
"No matter what I have to do, I won't lose you again this time!"
Unable to stay in bed he dresses himself, calls the hospital to take some days off, and grabs his car keys. But before he can say a word to the speaker, Yvonne already interrupts him.
"Perfect timing Dr. Zayne. Your hunter friend has been brought here. Vitals are stable, but she doesn't speak or anything else. You know her for a long time, maybe you can achieve something."
Never before has he been driving that fast to his workplace and as he enters the room where you are stationed his heart beats erratically. Finally, you're back in his life, he barely can't believe it.
But as he pulls you into his arms and takes a deep look into your eyes he's only met with emptiness. A blank stare that is void of any recognition, or intelligence. A puppet that is stripped of his strings. But at least you are alive..
The cave's floor is filled with delicate pearls of all forms and sizes by the time the pain in his chest finally subsides, replaced by a blooming peace that calms his erratic heartbeat.
Confused he sits up from his lying position, finally able to recognize his surroundings again as the sign on his chest flares down, no longer throwing some dim red light into the all-consuming darkness.
"What happened?" Rafayel whispers to himself as he massages his chest where his heart resides. Why did the pain stop so suddenly?
And then it's back. The very weak pull, the little light that is your connection with him. The fiery string of your connected hearts.
"My beloved bride is alive?" the Lemurian is shocked. But didn't you die? If not, what was the excruciating pain he felt?
Confused he stumbles from his resting place and out of his self-chosen sanctuary.
It's time for the Sea God to awaken again, claiming back his bride. You're somehow alive, and he has to see it himself and this time no crow will challenge his desperate need for your devotion.
Days later he arrives in Linkon City. With the information from Thomas, he is visiting you in the rehabilitation center of Akso Hospital.
He kneels before you, trembling hands caressing your delicate features that are void of any emotions towards him.
"My beloved bride..." he whispers, but your eyes only flicker to him now filled with confusion.
As you move away from his touch, screaming out loud he feels like he's breaking again. Desperation and exhaustion crash over him like tidal waves.
"What a fish brain..." he mutters as the nurse guides him out of your room.
After what seemed to be an eternity he was able to gather the shattered parts of his heart and head to the position where the twin last called.
With screeching wheels he stops near the other car, and nearly jumps out, crimson-glowing eyes searching his henchmen.
The twins running towards him."
"Boss-men!" Luke calls and Kietan continues "The silver-haired hunter teleported away with her!"
Sylus freezes, not quite getting what the twins are trying to tell him "What? Speak clearly!" he barks, his voice dark and filled with the monstrous rage that storms inside him.
"We watched him as he cradled her into his arms. He talked with her boss!"
"Something about how he's going to help her and bringing her to Dr. Zayne."
The twins now try to speak in more detail to him, and it takes a second till his heated mind sorts the words into useful sentences. Sylus freezes. "What?"
"We don't know how he did it, boss..." now Kieran, then Luke "... but she breathed and her wound was closed."
His crimson eyes go wide. She's alive?
And then it hits him, the part of his soul that is bound to her. It pulsates and thrives with life once again like nothing happened.
How's this possible? He felt it deep in his body that she died, the connection of their souls drying and nearly vanishing. And now it's back to life, glowing in the darkness of his heart.
Calling Mephisto to scout out Akso Hospital he spreads his enormous dragon wings for the first time in eons and rocket himself into the sky. Nothing will hold him back from seeing his beloved this instant.
He lands on the roof unseen by anyone and watching through the crow's eyes he observes the visitors, nurses, and her doctor how they come and go, and all the time she just lays there, unmoving like a doll.
In a calm hour, he walks into the hospital, not caring who sees or recognizes him.
He hurries to her room, wanting nothing more than to cradle his wife back into his arms and feel her warm breath against his skin.
And there she is, finally he lifts her in his arm, and scents her. But as Sylus wants to kiss her he gets no reaction, lips unmoving along his.
"Beloved?" he whispers softly. "Are you angry with me, kitten?"
He catches her gaze with his and her empty stare shocks him to the core.
"Not again." as he realizes that she has forgotten everything... again.
