When your Life as Tenebrae is limited (Part 2)
based on this request on my tumblr blog:
if it's okie can i ask for a continuation? let's say... wedding ✨ a few years passed, mc is settling nicely with the help of sylus, luke, kieran, and even mephisto. mc becomes his right hand or smthn, main gal to kill wanderers to stock up on onychinus' protocore collection. then, the boys feel a Disturbance™
A few years have passed since you were fired from your dream job as an associated licensed hunter and entered your new life as Sylus most important and best private protocore huntsman.
Your reputation between your tenebrae rivals is flawless! Not one wanderer in the N109 zone manages to escape your guns that are built and modified by your husband Sylus, the renowned leader of the area's biggest organization, Onychinus.
So there's no asking about your departure in the middle of night as your evol senses some strong ripples due to a powerful wanderer somewhere in the darkened zone which has been your home for the last few years now. You went alone, just you and your beloved guns, told the twins to wait in the car for you some kilometers afar.
But one thing you weren't prepared for was the giant and powerful wanderer you're battling against. Some enormous creature you've never met before and far more dangerous than you anticipated.
After an hour of reckless attacks and strength draining fighting your stamina runs off, your evol is exhausted and ammo non-existent. With your final reserves you manage to hunt it down only to be stabbed right in the heart from the back with the monster's scorpion-like tail.
The life spending organ stops at the intrusion and with gurgling sounds from the blood that spills in your throat you fall to the ground, the memories of your life play right before your inner eyes and everything goes dark.
Zayne
The alarm in his phone starts to wake him up from a restless sleep. Zayne immediately is at high alert, recognizing the sound even after years not in use. It's YOUR alarm, the one he set once as your primary care physician and never deleted it afterward.
The dark haired man swipes up to the app with your medical condition only to see that your heart rate drops to zero after quite some time of high functioning. And Zayne immediately knows the meaning of these data. You died. Just seconds before. And there's nothing he can do about it. "No, That's impossible. Not like this."
He's not your doctor anymore, wasn't for years, actually. Zayne doesn't even know where you are right now or if there is the possibility even to be brought to Akso hospital in order to get resuscitation procedures.
As his green hazel eyes are glued to the screen on his phone, unable to look away from the stilled heart icon, his own beating organ gets heavier in his chest. Even though you were with another man, didn't choose him—he still loves you, still thinks about you every second his mind isn't occupied elsewhere.
And now you're forever gone and Zayne couldn't even say goodbye to the woman who was his life once and still was until today somehow.
Rafayel
Rafayel stirs to consciousness in a forgotten corner of the world, a lonely cave somewhere in the ancient underwater ruins of his long vanished kingdom of Lemuria. A place where he tried to fall in an everlasting slumber, not able to bear the thought that you betrayed him... again. That you favored another man over him.
And as he finally, after years of trying to, falls into unconsciousness, something brings him back to life. A searing pain in his chest, a crucial torture that burns from the side of his upper body to every cell torments his slender figure. His heart pounds and races violently, the red fish-like marking above radiantly lightens up, throwing some short-lived light into the darkness of the underwater cave.
Rafayel screams out in agony, clutching the burning parts of his body, not able to escape that tormenting feeling. And as the inhuman pain finally ebbs down, he knows. He knows that you've died. Without him. Unaware how or where it happened you once again left him alone in this cruel and harsh world.
The purple haired merman tries to hate you, but his aching heart is only filled with sorrow, so much sadness and desperation. It's impossible for him to feel even an ounce of hatred towards you. "My beloved bride..." he whimpers through the immense pain that still claws his ugly nails into his chest.
You're dead now... the only thought in his twirling mind as pearly drops of salty water drip down his eyes, rolling over his pale cheeks and turning solid as they leave his handsome face. And together with soft clicking sounds, his grief fills the deafening silence of his self-chosen sanctuary.
Xavier
The silver haired hunter nearly stumbles over his own glowing sword as he gets in sight of the enormous abomination that materialized a while ago. Alarmed by citizens he searched the entire zone and an hour later he finally hunted down the traces of this unknown wanderer.
Only to find you as well, hanging lifeless at the long tail of this monster, the tip visible at the front of your chest where it's stabbed right through your heart. Blood still drips down the pointed end, creating a rhythmic sound of death.
„Noo!" he screams out loud, desperate and unbelieving. How? Why?
And beside the macabre picture he falls to his knees, the white uniform immediately sucks up the blood like a starving nomad in the desert. But Xavier couldn't care less, his big blue eyes, widened in absolute horror, staring at your pale face. Your own, once shining orbs like the sun and stars, now lifeless and dull.
And the young man cries out his agony again into the dark night sky of the N109 Zone, not caring who or what could hear him.
He hated you for turning your back to him and getting along with this criminal and the last words he told you, weren't kind. But regardless of what happened during the years, he still loves you. His heart beats only for you.
"I failed you my queen. I couldn't protect my little star. My angel left this world." soft whispers that mingle with the howling wind and the slow dripping blood to the ground in an endless mantra as the bright figure slumps into itself, like a broken tree in a merciless storm.
Sylus
In the middle of a business meeting a searing pain suddenly stabs into his head. Like a knife that is brutally pressed into his right eye, the one where his aether core resides. And if this isn't enough his chest tightens, the breathing heavy, not able to suck in the sudden sticky air.
His heart slows down from his usual racing rhythm and settles to an uncomfortable sluggish pace. The chatter around him dies as some grunting noises escape his throat, Sylus unable to hold them back. It's nearly unbearable for him, a pain he just experienced once before.
And with that thought he yanks up from the expensive chair he was sitting at, running around the giant table, leaving the business room in an unexpected hurry, not caring for the unintelligible gazes that follow his tall figure.
At the same second he passes the entrance door his smartphone rings to life, a screeching sound that spurs his terrible headache even more.
"What happened?" Sylus barks into the speaker as he answers the call of the twins.
For a few moments he gets no response, and he asks again, this time dangerously calm. "If you two won't give me an answer in the next second you're not going to see the light of the new day."
Then whimpers. And a low broken voice of one of the two young men he once retained. "Boss..." sobs and cries "She-she's dead."
And Sylus' world turns upside down as he falls to his knees, hands trembling that are supposed to hold the phone.
"No!" the only word that leaves his lips as the device falls to the carpeted floor, unnoticed by his empty stare into the void of his immortal life without you.
