Chapter Forty-Three: Visions

The girl kept blinking before she smiled.

"Lily, Meryl," she said, trying to get up, but without success.

Both girls went to hug their friend who was still lying in bed. Little Black tried to sit down so she could chat more easily, but observed that she couldn't move as before; the nurse noticed this and made her way between Lily and Meryl.

"Is there any chance that something was broken the night you were petrified, Miss Black?" Asked the nurse.

Calynn was silent for a moment, trying to remember everything that had happened before losing consciousness and saw herself falling down that trapdoor, remembering the pain that had caused her in the legs with the fall.

"Legs or hip," Little Black said with a shrug.

"Does any of them hurt?" Asked the nurse examining her.

"The upper part of the right leg," Calynn replied, complaining slightly of the pain, nothing compared to the way Lucius complained.

"You must stay one more night, this potion will serve to accommodate your bones that had been mistakenly petrified," the woman said as she took out a smaller jar from a warehouse and served it in a small spoon and then gave it to the little Black which she swallowed it as if it were the most disgusting thing she had ever tried, trying not to spit it on the nurse's face. In the end Calynn ordered a glass of water and once she had handed it to her, she left them alone so they could chat.

"Petrified? How long have I been like this?" Little Black questioned quite confused.

"About a month," said Lily, who was too excited to have her friend once more before her eyes and prove she was really alive.

Calynn was silent for a moment, for her the time had not been so much, it seemed that only one night had passed.

"What happened in my absence?" She paled for a moment and continued. "Longbottom, have he been here?"

Lily and Meryl looked at each other, the moment to tell her the truth had arrived and both were worried about her friend's reaction. Both sat on the bed next to Calynn.

"There's something you have to know," Meryl began nervously. Little Black noticed that tone in the words and began to worry.

"Frank Longbottom has revealed your secret to the whole school," Lily said without further ado, it was better to release it in that way than to try to hide it.

"What did he do?!" Shouted Calynn furiously.

"He has announced it to everyone, has made posters with offensive messages, Lucius has composed a song," she said, pointing to the blond with her head, "that's why he's here," she thoughtfully before shook her head. "But that is another issue, the important thing is that everyone in Hogwarts knows it, has come out in The Daily Prophet, there are aurors guarding the castle..." She was interrupted by a movement of her friend to try to get out of bed, which she achieved, but falling to the floor, hurting the body more.

"That Longbottom..." she said in a broken voice as she tried to get up, "he needs... his... deserved."

"You have to rest," Meryl said, trying to support her friend who was almost standing in the infirmary.

"Besides, we've already given it to him," Lily added, who had also risen to keep her friend from going after Longbottom.

"What do you mean?" Little Black questioned as she lost her balance and fell, Meryl took the moment to put her back in bed with Lily's help.

"James and his friends have helped us, we've played a good joke," Lily said with a laugh, remembering that day where Longbottom was scared was so much fun and Meryl showed it without suppressing any laugh.

However, little Black did not look happy, she was really upset and even more disappointed, in her mind there was nothing more than what she would do now.

"And Druella and Cygnus, haven't they written?" Asked Little Black, finished with a worried tone.

Lily and Meryl looked at each other again, but the blonde was the first to speak this time.

"Yes, they wrote you. The letter has been seen by Dumbledore and McGonagall, but Andromeda, Severus and us are also aware," Meryl explained with a serious expression on her face.

"What did she say?" Asked the little Death Eater, moving in the bed of the infirmary.

"She will plan how to avenge what Longbottom did, is furious with you to have fallen in love with him. However, she has not worried that your secret is known, she even said you should be proud," Lily said confused.

"She said sarcastically, Lily, it's obvious," Meryl added in a serious tone.

Little Black felt overwhelmed, they had been too many confessions in such a short time that her head was beginning to ache.

"My head hurts," Calynn said, taking her forehead and clasping her eyelids.

"We'll let you rest, now that you know it would be good to organize an attack plan," Meryl replied quite seriously, attracting Lily's attention.

Little Black just nodded without understanding a single word, plan of attack? To who? Attack? But everything was spinning to answer those questions.

Her surroundings became blurrier until she felt she closed her eyes. Instantly, a dark room rose before her eyes, she knew one of her dreams was coming.

A ray of light, the only one in the room, illuminated a point that ran the little Black who felt shorter. When she arrived, she realized that it was the palm of one hand.

"Come here," exclaimed her mother's voice quite sweetly.

Strangely, little Black obeyed her, she seemed confident.

They walked down a corridor which didn't look very good, its surroundings seemed surrounded by a cloud so as not to make it visible.

"It's her, my lord," Druella confirmed releasing her with more force than she would have wished. The man in front of her was getting closer and closer until he placed his hands on her face.

"But she looks like a squib girl," complained the man who pushed the girl who fell to the floor, laughing at herself. "In addition, she has grown too much and now she will begin to keep memories, you know that can't happen, Rosier."

"I have this in mind, sir," Druella agreed with a serious look. "Do you want to take away her memories from now?" She asked, looking down at Calynn who was playing with her little shoes.

"Of course, we shouldn't have brought her, but now, that will be the condition," the man ordered.

Druella only made a shake of her head as she pulled the wand out of her pocket to aim directly at her daughter.

"Obliviate."

The laughter stopped ringing, the girl in both reality and vision lost consciousness.

Sometime later, she still didn't know how much, the girl began to open her eyes, totally disoriented. She felt that two people were carrying her, she had no idea why or where they were going.

"Miss Black, it's a pleasure that you wake up." McGonagall's voice rang in her ears, what had she done this time? Where was she? A few hours ago, she was in the infirmary.

They stopped walking and let the girl get up, put her feet on the floor and manage to stand. Nurse and Professor McGonagall watched her worried.

"It feels good?" Asked the nurse this time.

"A little dizzy," the girl replied. "Where are we going?"

"With Professor Dumbledore, we think you has had a nightmare because you have been saying names during your dreams," Minerva explained. The girl nodded, although she couldn't hide how strange she was. "Then there is no time to lose," McGonagall said, advancing at a rapid pace. The girl tried to do the same, but fell to the floor, she no longer remembered that she had broken her leg.

"Don't worry, there's not much left to get there, come on, I'll help you," the nurse commented as she helped her up and walk through the wide corridors only lit by the small torchlight, the girl just wished she could see the Director as soon as possible while trying to remember her dreams.

They walked about ten more minutes until they observed that bird in front of them, the teacher dictated the password and the stairs began to move once more in front of her. They helped her up slowly until they knocked on the door. The director received them, but his characteristic smile was not visible at the time, had she really been so worrying?

The girl took a seat where she usually did it during her classes before becoming petrified, the nurse retired and left both adults with the little Death Eater. The director did not sit down at any time, which reflected his nervousness about the situation.

"Can you remember anything?" The old man addressed the girl bluntly.

Little Black was silent for a moment as she closed her eyes and tried hard to remember what she had seen a few moments ago.

A palm in front of her, a man in front of her, her hands on her face, he was Voldemort.

"I saw Voldemort," said the girl, but in the absence of reaction from both teachers she repeated it with a little more intensity. This time Minerva could not help but move uncomfortably.

"Be more specific, please," Dumbledore pleaded, who had not made such an impression.

"My mother took me with Voldemort." She paused as she remembered a little more. "And I think..." The effort to remember prevented her from speaking quickly, "... that I was smaller because I fiddled with my shoes, "the girl was completely confused.

Minerva did not understand a bit, what was not her visions about what would happen?

"And what else do you remember?" Continued Dumbledore.

"A spell, my mother carried a wand that pointed to me before conjuring it, it was something like oblivion or..." She shut up for a moment, sighed as she couldn't remember the spell.

"Obliviate?" Dumbledore asked as if he had known a few minutes ago.

"Yes," Calynn exclaimed in surprise, how did he know?

There was a moment of silence in the room, Dumbledore was meditating on something really serious.

"Tell me the first memory you have with your sisters, or the first time you entered the Malfoy Manor," the director ordered quickly as he moved further through the office.

"I never met my sisters before joining them, the Death Eaters, and when they made my mark it was the first time I entered the Malfoy Manor," the girl replied without understanding what was happening, what did those questions have to do with her?

The man turned instantly upon hearing the answer, he nodded several times, Minerva and little Black were totally confused until Dumbledore added:

"Delayed Accelerated Memory."

What was that? Why did he say it so sure?

"Dumbledore is true, but they are very strange cases," McGonagall confirmed.

"What are you talking about?" Asked the girl, gaining the look of both teachers.

"The Delayed Accelerated Memory is a magical disease that occurs rarely. It is a condition of the mind or a consequence of the constant use of the Obliviate spell, which causes the presence of future visions with some limitations but also causes some visions of the past where they occupied this type of spell, causing the same effects as when you lived them," the man explained. .

The girl didn't know what to say, everything Dumbledore had said was true, she remembered her previous visions and they were the same as the director had just described; she also remembered when he passed out during the Quidditch match, this time it had been the same way.

"So, what I dreamed," she paused to correct, "what I observed was not a dream or a future vision, was it my past?" finished the little confused and astonished at the same time.

"You are absolutely right, Miss Black," Dumbledore replied, nodding.

Assimilating it was difficult for the little Death Eater, especially since it was not the first time that happened to her, even before entering Hogwarts they showed up, but remembering them all would be impossible.

"Now, Miss Black, it would be a great help if you could remember all your vision today to be able to observe it in the pensieve," the director said as he pulled a kind of drinking fountain out of a place, but immediately took what looked like a glass of that object and propelled it to float towards the middle of the office. Little Black just watched in wonder.

"Do you have it, Miss Black?" Asked the old man.

"No, I'm sorry professor," the girl replied with a certain tone of guilt. She began to concentrate with great effort until she was fully ready.

"Now put your wand pointing at your forehead and take out that memory," the director explained.

To the girl it seemed strange every word she said, but she obeyed to observe what would happen, and very easily, a memory came out of her head and placed it on that kind of crystal. Just when she placed the memory, it immediately began to move as if it were expanding, both teachers bowed their heads to put it in the pensieve and the girl soon imitated them, but not before holding her breath thinking that it would be something like water. She submerged and the vision she had had a few moments ago was again in front of his eyes. Druella's hand, Voldemort's presence in front of her and her term with that spell became visible before her eyes. When the vision ended, everyone came back to reality and then looked at both confused teachers.

"Squib?" McGonagall questioned anyone in particular this time.

"When was the first time you used magic with a wand?" Asked Dumbledore.

"A month before I arrived at Hogwarts with the wand of one of my parents to defend myself," said the little girl trying not to remember much about those moments.

"Even so, Dumbledore, if she does not remember her past, she won't know if she did magic before," McGonagall added. Dumbledore just nodded slightly confused. "Maybe it was some behaviors that led them to think that," commented the professor once more.

"Professor, why have I remembered some things more frequently since my parents forced me to join the dark side than before?" Asked Calynn with some confusion. She had noticed that he remembered more things lately than when she lived in her house on Spinner's End.

"Because of her mother's torture," Dumbledore said quite sure. "Torture is the only method to remember again, the only counter spell for the Memory Charm." The director's words made a lot of sense and it was the best explanation she had obtained.

"Do you mean that, if I were subjected to frequent torture, could I remember my childhood?" Asked Calynn quite fearfully.

"Yes, that's right," Dumbledore commented. "But it would take several years, would you be willing to endure years of torture to, perhaps, get disappointed of your childhood?" Asked the man with enough regret in his voice.

"I don't know," said Little Black just because she didn't really know if years of torture were worth it to know her lost childhood that might not be very good.

The room was silent for a moment, nobody knew what to comment. Little Black sighed calling the attention of those present, now she had one more thing to think about, she was sure she would find another way to recover those memories. Wasn't it really enough to take her childhood by joining her dark side? Did they have to take away any trace of their past too? Was there any charm to remember?

A tear began to slide down her cheek, she didn't want to cry anymore, but she wasn't happy either, what did she feel then? A burning in her stomach and the force with which she clenched her teeth gave her the answer, she no longer felt sadness, she felt no happiness or disappointment, anger reigned over her now and she seized with incredible strength. She was tired of supporting her destiny, tired of fighting for her life when everyone around her was happy.

"You're not the only one" Severus' words echoed in her head. It was true, Severus was the one who could understand her in the best way, she would go see him just now.

"Anything else?" The girl asked both adults sounding more annoying than she wanted.

"As soon as you leave the infirmary, I would like us to resume classes," said the principal, getting the girl to nod. "Now you can leave."

The girl got up from the chair and walked as quickly as possible to go down the stairs and meet the nurse who was waiting to help her with the return through the halls.

"I'd like to see Severus, from the Slytherin house," the girl pleaded.

"No, of course not, now you need to rest, maybe I can tell him to come see you. After tonight you may leave the infirmary," said the woman.

Spent a lot of time as they walked the corridors that separated them from their destination until they entered through the door of the infirmary to begin to listen to the complaints of pain from Lucius, still wondering what had happened.

The nurse laid her down, gave her water and some fruit before leaving the room in search of Severus, with silent steps. When she returned, little Black felt really relieved, Severus could support her in everything. The boy approached her cautiously and with his arms on his back carrying something.

"Severus, what do you bring?" Asked the little girl.

"These are for you," the boy said as he showed her a bouquet of red roses. The girl smiled, but she couldn't help being slightly confused. Did those flowers represent a red of love or friendship?
