Chapter Forty-Seven: Legacy

The little girl quickly put on her cloak, she was quite scared of what could happen so she followed the teacher's instructions as they watched more and more spells cross Hogwarts grounds. Once the little girl was ready, Dumbledore took her arm and out of nowhere, they separated her feet from the ground for a moment and seconds later they appeared right in the director's office. The girl took off her cloak so that the director could observe her.

"Listen carefully. The Death Eaters cannot see you in the castle, they are here for you and only to take you out of here," Dumbledore began seriously. For now, we will try to protect the largest number of students in the dungeons," he explained. "Do not let anything happen to the book, something tells me that they are also looking for this. Now to the dungeons, please," Dumbledore finished as the girl left the office again with her invisibility cloak over her. She began to run, although the stairs were quite slow, the girl was very afraid because right on the upper floor two Death Eaters were fighting dueling wands with a single auror that apparently was not at all scared. It was also difficult for her to pass through the multitude of students who were desperately coming down the stairs and, although the Death Eaters around the halls were fighting, there was no lack of anyone who threw curses at the students just for fun, and although most avoided them, some students distracted were the most affected as they could collapse on the ground, be tortured or even killed. The chaos was even worse when they fell to the ground unconscious because they had to surround them, but the most important thing was that, although some students tried to help them, they were exposed to the curses. This lasted a moment, Professor Galatea arrived quickly to help in the halls. Little Black was trying to sneak through the crowd, while looking for Lily and Meryl, she was really worried about both. They went down as they could, but more and more Death Eaters entered the castle, somehow some of them could fly without needing a broom, so they could break windows and enter the castle directly and, although Galatea moved quite quickly, she could not attack all Death Eaters at the same time, so some more teachers joined. Calynn decided to take off her cloak for a moment to prevent several students from tripping over her when they finally reached the lower floor of the castle as they walked at a rapid pace in a hurry by some teachers and prefects from different houses. They began to guide them down the stairs that went down to the dungeons, Calynn looked up trying to see above the heads of the students in search of their friends, but it was useless, it was impossible to distinguish someone among so many students.

A prefect with a green robe mentioned a key just in front of a snake box and it opened, the prefect said to wait a moment while the boy entered and he began to move the furniture a little so that there was more space for students. After a while they entered pushing each other and, although not all fit, little Black could enter the common room of the snakes. The prefect was placed in front of all the students while trying to get his attention failed, so he pointed his wand at his throat and after formulating a spell he began to speak bombastically, achieving the complete silence of all present to begin to speak normally.

"For your safety you will have to stay here in the dungeons, you do not have permission to leave, if you are worried about any of your friends or brothers you have to know that they are also here in the dungeons distributed in different rooms, so you do not have to worry" Commented the boy who, although he tried not to show his fear, was impossible because the trembling of his voice gave him away completely. "As soon as most of the students are in dungeons, a teacher will be accompanied by a couple of aurors to guard the area," he explained, trying to calm down. "And don't worry," he added, quite disturbed before leaving the common room and leaving the boys locked up.

Immediately they began to hear cries, screams of terror and even began to look for friends among all the students, however, some Slytherin boys went up to their bedrooms to protect their bed from the boys of other houses. Little Black began to move trying to avoid the other students trying to find Lily or Meryl somewhere, but it was impossible because she believed she was walking in circles. She was going to a higher part to try to find them from there when a spell caught her attention.

"Imperio!" A voice was heard loudly around the room. Calynn only felt like she stopped in her tracks and was forced not to walk anymore, apparently a feeling of happiness and tranquility covered her body, quite pleasant, she had no intention of resisting Bellatrix's curse. "How easy it has been to infiltrate the castle! I was always with one of you, dear classmates," Bellatrix said as she pointed at some students with her finger and then gave a mocking smile as she walked among all the students until she reached the small Black. "Now, what will I do with you?" She turned to little Black who couldn't even formulate a word. Some students began to draw their wand at the threats of Bellatrix while others began to recede because of fear. Out of nowhere, a copper-haired girl began to approach her friend until she reached Bellatrix who looked at her with a teasing look.

"Leave her alone, let go of the wand!" Lily snapped as she pointed her wand with an expression of fear on her face.

However, Bellatrix was totally cheerful, gave her a mocking smile and then added:

"You, Evans? You could not stun even your own mother. Oh sure! I didn't remember that you don't have parents anymore, I'm so sorry," the Death Eater maliciously reminded her as she caused Lily to shed some tears, but, despite everything, the redhead took the courage to try to disarm Bellatrix, who protected himself properly while cutting the curse with Calynn and in a quick wand movement Bellatrix took the wand from the redhead.

"Crucio!" She exclaimed while smiling with enough malice, it was no secret that Bellatrix had a certain aversion to the mudblood students, especially with Lily and it was quite evident that she finally enjoyed that moment of having her under her control. However, this pleasure did not last long because some older children tried to stun her, which Bellatrix quickly avoided while the spell returned and they fell unconscious on the ground, this only caused the other boys to try to climb the stairs or hide behind the greenish chairs of the common room of the snakes, Bellatrix only laughed happily until a spell brought her back to her guard.

"You were wrong to fight with me," Calynn exclaimed as she passed by her friend who was still quite weakened by the spell, Bella just laughed again, which took Calynn to try to disarm her, but Bellatrix just crouched down avoiding the spell. The girl went to Calynn with her wand raised and she was the first to attack equally trying to disarm her, but little Black would not be so easy because she managed to protect herself from the spell. Bellatrix began to get even more enraged with this and this time she wasn't just limited to easy spells.

"Crucio!" She exclaimed quite annoyed. "Crucio! You won't last too long!" Bellatrix shouted as the courage grew louder and louder, which led her to the extreme and not only to torturing spells.

"Avada Kedavra!" Calynn who did not know that spell decided to bend to avoid it, and could not be better because it hit a giant silver snake figure, burning a fragment completely. Although little Black tried to keep up with Bellatrix, she was throwing a curse every two seconds so she only had to defend herself. Bellatrix, with incredible fury, gave up her wand and this time she started throwing daggers and sharp knives towards the little girl while Bellatrix chased her effusively, Lily tried to intervene by pushing Bellatrix failingly, which was only answered by a great poke in the stomach, which sent her to the ground again.

Out of nowhere, a voice began to be heard in the room, it was coming from one of the corners where the students were hidden.

"Leave her alone, Bellatrix," said Thana, who was seen in the dark. "Look at this situation, look what is going on out there, that's not right, do you really want to be part of it?" She exclaimed while Bellatrix stopped throwing knives and Calynn stopped the passage, both with the wand in hand only observing the girl. Bellatrix just watched her from head to toe rather confused without saying a word. "She's not a problem for you," she said, referring to little Black who was attentive to what they said before going to see Lily's health. "You can be a good girl."

Bellatrix frowned quite offended before speaking.

"That is none of your business, now retire," Bellatrix exclaimed menacingly, but Thana did not move from there. "I said leave!" Said the girl, approaching Thana with her wand raised, taking the opportunity to say something in a low voice. "If the Dark Lord does not kill you, I will be the one to do it," she whispered and then shouted at her. "I told you to stay away!" This time Thana backed away fearfully as she moved a little to the right with intentions to return where she came from when she noticed that Bellatrix took one more dagger from her side while she saw the little Black who was on her back helping to lift Lily and Thana could see what Bellatrix was planning. She watched as the dagger flew through the air towards Calynn's upper back and without thinking twice Thana ran to the small one to avoid the impact and from nowhere she could feel it, right in her heart. Thana opened her mouth quite surprised as the screams of terror filled the room, she took the dagger in her hands without being sure to take it out of her body as she staggered and fell to the ground even with the dagger inside her. Calynn had instinctively turned as a gesture of horror formed on her face and approached her friend shaking her head.

"No!" Said Calynn. "What have you done?!" She snapped at Bellatrix while she was just answering her with a grin and a macabre laugh.

"This is just the beginning, fools," Bellatrix commented before beginning to fly in a kind of black spectrum, tearing apart part of the door of the Slytherin common room and flying to the upper floors of the school.

Once Bellatrix left, the students began to leave their hiding places as they gathered around Thana to see better.

"Thana!" Lily exclaimed who had arrived with Calynn and sat on the floor to be able to observe the girl better, she only saw her friends with a look of sadness as she began to take the dagger out of her chest, totally bloody and let her fall by her side. Calynn could see how her friend's uniform began to turn red as blood stained them, as did the floor of the room, reaching the robes of Lily and Calynn. Apparently, the girl would die like a Gryffindor, the blood of her bravery had turned the robe of snakes into one of the lions.

"Forgive me," the girl said with enough effort. "I really sorry about everything that happened, I just need to hear you both forgive me." She ended up quite hoarse as her breathing became increasingly difficult and her gesture of pain was increasingly evident.

However, Lily and Calynn did not understand what she meant by forgiving her, what had she done? Just stop talking to them for a few months, but Calynn thought that if that was her last wish, they shouldn't have fulfilled it. What they did not know is that Thana had been that spy of Druella for several months, she had never realized the seriousness of the situation until that same night.

"I forgive you," Calynn told her to later Lily mention the same thing, both with tears in their eyes as they saw one of her friends in her last agony.

"Thank you," she said for the last time as she watched Calynn until she noticed that her friend's eyes had run out of life.

Silence reigned in the common room, some students watched the scene while they cried in silence, others took the opportunity to go in search of a teacher to help them and Calynn, with a large lump in her throat, wiped her fingers on her robe to take off the most blood she could and then closed the eyes of her friend so that she did not look so impressive. Lily was still sobbing at her side while Calynn let some of the tears slip down her cheeks as she let go of her friend's hand and just closed her eyes so he wouldn't see her that way anymore. Lily got up from the floor and left for help, but the halls were deserted. She began to climb the stairs to return to school when she could see through a window that, in the sky, just above the castle, stood a green skull just like one of the marks in the forearm. She continued walking with her eyes wide open until she heard, through one of the broken windows of the lobby, that the duel of Death Eaters and aurors was still outside the castle, apparently most of the Death Eaters had fled because only a small group of these was still fighting. Simultaneously voices were heard coming from the Great Hall and she could observe a group of students walking with Professor McGonagall.

"Professor, something horrible has happened in the dungeons," exclaimed the students who, apparently, were older than Lily. McGonagall turned a worried gesture until she saw Lily with red eyes and the teacher's expression worsened markedly.

"What happened, Miss Evans?" She questioned as the redhead took a breath to speak.

"There has been a murder, professor," Lily explained as they descended the stairs leading to the dungeons.

"What do you say?" Asked Minerva, quite upset and speeding up.

"Bellatrix Black, Calynn's sister, has infiltrated the castle and in an attempt to kill Calynn has killed another student," Lily said in a broken voice because remembering it caused her to form a lump in her throat. They continued walking, also accompanied by students from other grades as they walked down the last stairs and reached the common room, found Calynn still sobbing quite loudly next to her friend's body, without caring that her hands continued to fill with blood. McGonagall made an astonished gesture when she watched the scene, she couldn't believe it. She approached the little Black who was still with her eyes closed without daring to look at her friend, but she had taken her hand again, the teacher called her, but she did not want to pay attention, it seemed she was in a kind of chasm where she felt guilty for her death. McGonagall tried to release Calynn from Thana's hand, but little Black just squeezed harder to avoid being taken away; Lily watched the scene next to the teacher so that the redhead sat next to Calynn while she surrounded her with her arms, Calynn only opened her eyes a little more, but didn't exclaim any sound, she still kept that lost look. Lily was pushing her friend while she was releasing the hand of the corpse and began to rise from the ground, at the same time a book fell on her foot and this made her come back to reality, bent down, picked it up and felt that pain slightly in the dark mark thanks to the proximity with this one, but that pain was so slight that she missed the little one, this one was not as strong as the one she felt in her heart. She put the book back while she picked up her cloak that she had left on the floor when she received Bellatrix's curse and accompanied Lily at a slow pace.

They began to climb the movable stairs that were deserted but were flooded by the sound of the flashes of the duels that still survived outside the castle. Lily led little Black to the principal's office and, finding her open, they began to climb the steps and without knocking on the door they entered immediately.

"This is unacceptable, Dumbledore!" Galatea exclaimed towards the director and then kept silent and watched both girls. Dumbledore turned his gesture of courage to one of concern as he looked at Little Black's face.

"Please give us a moment, professor," the director asked Galatea, who left the office still quite ecstatic.

As soon as she left, Dumbledore put a hand to his forehead demonstrating the fatigue he presented because of the time and situations. He yawned, took a breath and then concentrated again.

"What happened?" He questioned both girls with great concern.

Lily waited a moment waiting for her partner's response, but upon observing her lost gaze, Lily decided it was to tell her herself.

After the explanation, Dumbledore rose from his seat as he began to walk around the office, expressing concern about it, it was also quite evident how the professor's courage was increasing while shaking his head. The director looked out the window, apparently the duels were over, but the greenish mark present in the sky continued to impose the power of the Death Eaters.

"This girl deserves an honorable farewell," said the director with tired eyes, "but we have to remove that mark as soon as possible," he said to tell them to follow. They went down the stairs again in the direction of the dungeons while Calynn was still staring, it was impossible to overcome what had just happened.

They reached out to Professor McGonagall who was beginning to take out some students in the direction of the school grounds. Both teachers began to talk as they accommodated the students who began to leave the dungeons and little by little the other teachers of Hogwarts began to approach with the wand in hand. Once the largest number of people were gathered in the Hogwarts garden, Dumbledore and McGonagall raised their hands holding the wand while they were imitated by the students around them and began throwing white lights towards the sky and watching the sky mark begin to disappear. Calynn looked up for a moment while the brightness of the white lights flooded her melancholy eyes, took out her wand and looking up with some tears she joined the other students.

"Thank you, Thana," she whispered to herself as there were only good moments with her in her mind, from the few moments of her childhood.

After a while and the arrival of several other students, the mark disappeared from the sky and the stars were bright again. A silence was made in the place, not everyone knew what had happened just moments ago, some prefects began to organize their groups of students to return to their respective dormitories, however, Dumbledore approached the little Black and asked her to accompany him to his office, so both would take advantage of the energy provided by adrenaline. The little girl said goodbye to Lily with her hand as she walked crestfallen, holding the book and her cape while waving her robe when she walked and let her see the blood stains that could be observed thanks to the brightness of the stars. They passed the Forbidden Forest before turning a corner towards the school and there she could see a grayish animal, it was a kind of thin and malnourished horse with a pair of wings at its sides, it had an emaciated head, looked at it for a second, but she did not have the necessary initiative to ask the director about it. They took a long time to climb because all the students went to their respective houses while some magicians outside fixed the windows and the damage to the castle with just a wand movement.

Once they arrived at the office, Professor McGonagall also passed through the door and waited this time at the bottom of the office while listening to both.

"I know you will think I'm inopportune, but I think you know the reason we're here," he said cautiously trying to get little Black to look at her eyes, but she only saw the ground with an expression of sadness. Then she picked up the book and threw it on the desk quite roughly as she turned her gaze to the floor. Dumbledore noticed that reaching the key point of this would be more difficult than he thought, he took a breath, exhaled and began to speak slowly after looking at Professor McGonagall to leave the room.

"Miss Patterson's parents have been notified, but considering that there are only five minutes left until three in the morning, I doubt there is such an immediate response, so now we cannot do anything."

Calynn looked at the director's eyes as she tried to retain the tears inside her eye sockets, she knew she needed some time to assimilate it even better, Dumbledore was going to take the book, but the fear that he would react wrongly stopped him immediately.

"Could you open the book, Miss Black?" Dumbledore questioned as she opened it quickly and offered it to him, the director hurried and placed his wand on him. "Reveal your secrets." They waited a few seconds and even minutes, however, nothing happened with the book, Dumbledore made a gesture of confusion, it was evident that he expected something to happen, but it was not. The director kept thinking while little Black took the book and closed it to appreciate the cover, Dumbledore imitated it without saying a word and at the same time, the little girl ran her fingers over the texture of that silver cover. It contained only a snake with green eyes and its skin with a silver coating, in the background you could see different bright stones of greenish colors that gave more character to that book. The director watched curiously when an idea came to mind.

"Miss Black, imagine that the snake on this cover is a real snake, imagine it in detail," the director explained slowly so that the little girl understood everything. "Once you have it try to say reveal yourself."

Calynn quite strangely took the book, placed the cover right in front of her and began to see a silver basilisk in front of her, imagined it so well that fear began to travel her body in the real world. Later, Calynn could mention something, it seemed as if it were a different language and magically the book began to fill the old and brown pages with text that once seemed empty. Calynn's expression of sadness had simultaneously changed to one of amazement, she watched the book with her mouth open and her eyes equally wide open.

The first page began with a year as a title, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, the little girl looked up to read aloud when she observed that calligraphy she recognized perfectly.

"It's from Druella," the little girl murmured to the director while her gesture of astonishment grew larger. This time the little girl started reading.

"October 13, 1937.

Today was the first day I have you in my hands, you have been a wonderful birthday present number twelve. I was very happy how Tom has thought a little about me, every time I have identified myself a little more with him, he is very good at school and has already made several friends. I know he is quite introverted, but his personality is unique, every moment we spend together unites us more as friendship.

Bye,

Druella Rosier. "

"Tom?" Calynn questioned quite confused because that name had never heard her. However, the director turned his look to other places while walking trying to calm down.

"Could you continue reading? Maybe some pages later, please." Dumbledore asked the girl who was watching the years.

"September 15, 1941.

Today. Finally, today he noticed me, or at least that's what I think he did. Every day I wonder when he will tell me that he likes me, I'm crazy about him.

Today he has shown me a book that he had taken from the library of the forbidden section, simply interesting, he taught me the great set of Unforgivable Curses, maybe we can carry them out, all this of the dark arts has increasingly caught my attention. There is also a boy who has looked for me, his name is Cygnus and he is from my house, of the snakes of course, he has also been a good person, but none like Tom Riddle.

It's time to control the world! (That's what Tom told me today)

Druella Rosier. "

"Who is Tom Riddle?" Asked the little girl quite confused but received no response so she decided to continue reading a little later.

"March 22, 1942

This school is increasingly full of mudblood, if only Dumbledore let us take them out of Hogwarts, however, the date with Tom has been incredible and for the first time we have kissed, just banal things. What matters now is the project that I had told you, Tom has more and more followers, obviously I was the first to say yes, it will be fascinating how we will make fun of the director. Several guys have joined the project, all thanks to Tom being a great emotional manipulator, quite incredible.

Cygnus has also looked for me a lot, I think it attracts me, just because of the simple fact that his family has been full of uses of black magic and apparently, he is no exception, but as long as I can, I will continue to follow Tom everywhere.

Druella Ridd... Rosier."

Little Black began to assimilate a little about what she was reading. Would that Tom Riddle be the one who believed the little girl?

The silence lasted a lot in the room, the girl began to look for important things between the dates of the book and, once she found something, she prepared to read.

"May 20, 1943

Do you remember that I had told you that Tom and I had left our relationship to devote ourselves to the project? Well, it has turned out quite well, Cygnus has given himself to me, he is a very manageable man, but we both enjoy being together, or that is what he believes; it will help me to have descendants that continue the project of Tom and me. By the way, Tom has created a mark on my forearm to identify us, evil is coming to Hogwarts and, although my arm burns slightly, the pain I felt when he made the mark has been pleasant because this is the beginning of a new era, I'm sure.

Druella Rosier. "

Calynn could see how, just below her mother's signature, she could find a drawing of the mark made with ink. She couldn't believe what she had just read.

"Is Tom Riddle, Lord Voldemort?" The little Death Eater questioned as she directed a glance at the director, he responded by affirming with her head and silence appeared again in the room. This time the little girl began to leaf through the book trying to find more information about Voldemort until she read.

"December 19, 1947

Cygnus has insisted on celebrating a big wedding, I will have to do it just to pretend his love, because it will be the only way he continues to believe in me. At least I managed to make it in a private room to prevent that moment from being more embarrassing.

Tom has defined a name for this new group: The Death Eaters, he knows that now that we have more people, we could plan an invasion to the school and then to the Ministry of Magic. Re-entering Hogwarts in that way will be incredible and the first thing we will do is exterminate those mudblood that can even stain the name of the legendary Salazar Slytherin. At the moment we have settled in the Malfoy Manor, this family is full of blood purity and black magic, they have invited us to place our base here, and although our leader makes meetings in different places, our main base is that manor that it has been quite helpful to commit more secret events.

I still don't know why I keep writing about this if it's just crap, possibly because it was a gift from Tom and that makes it special, one way or another.

Druella. "

"She has changed a lot since she met Tom," Calynn said as she didn't think it was possible for her mother to be different from a child. "She never loved dad," she whispered to himself, without stopping Dumbledore from hearing that comment, hoping the little girl would begin to assimilate her mother's true reality.

She took the book again and leafed through it quickly looking for something more about her or one of her sisters, the desire to know more about her childhood invaded her completely. He found something that might be useful to him and began reading after Dumbledore sat down in front of her again.

"January 4, 1949

I hope the effort is worth it, today the first girl, Andromeda, was born, a new generation to change the world once and for all. Cygnus has been the most enthusiastic, he has been on the lookout for everything and has even despaired me with so many questions, there were times where he was so happy that his adoration for the dark arts was fading, illogical.

I hope Tom comes to meet her, I'm sure he would have been different, although I really doubt, he likes children.

Druella. "

However, the girl did not find many new things, only that her own mother had raised four girls only for her own benefit. That is why those early demands were eager for that purpose. Dumbledore said nothing, just waiting for the next page, however, it was clear that his mind worked hard while listening to the little girl, the girl kept looking when she found something, the word daughter was named on that page for which she began to read.

"May 25, 1950

She has finally arrived, our dear daughter! After so much waiting. We have both planned to call her with a unique name, Tom has mentioned me about one whose meaning is that she is powerful in battle and now we have her, welcome to the world, Calynn [...]"

The little girl stopped reading for a moment while exclaiming a gesture of surprise.

"That can't be possible," she stammered at the director who looked worried. "I was born in nineteen fifty-two, I just can't have fourteen," she exclaimed as she watched her body and that is when she realized that that would not be as far-fetched as she would believe. She was very tall, always considered taller than her Hogwarts teammates, was more mature than the others, perhaps not only because of their situations, but also because of their age.

"I think, Miss Black, that what it says in that book could be entirely true," the director said as she looked at the book that had so many secrets.

The little girl looked back at the book and prepared to read, curiosity won her by far.

"[...] Cygnus can't find out about this, but finally my dream had come true and I couldn't let it go, I had finally had my first daughter with Tom Riddle [...]"

The little Death Eater read the paragraph more than twice, she felt the air leave her body, her disbelief was evident. A mixture of feelings began to form in her heart; guilt and sadness for Thana's death was still present, an anger towards her mother was still felt in every throbbing and, now, an impression emotion persisted for quite some time. The little girl did not know how to properly handle that mixture of emotions and tears began to sprout from her eyes, she wanted to scream, she wanted to hug someone and also feel someone's arms around her, she wanted to squeeze something with all her strength and even more incredible the little girl wanted to keep reading, but a fear and hate stopped her.

"I can't be that monster's daughter," she confessed as she cried to the director who saw her with a sad expression, even Dumbledore had run out of words.

A moment of silence passed until the director broke it, speaking among the cries of the little girl.

"Not because it's your father means you'll be the same as him," Dumbledore explained, trying to calm the little Death Eater.

"But I have it in my veins," exclaims the small dumbfounded woman while looking at her veins and with them the dark mark.

"That's why you could take the book, Miss Black," the director said quite analytically.

"Why do I not remember anything from my childhood?" Calynn wondered, trying to understand the purpose of hiding that book.

"Lord Voldemort didn't want you to know you was his daughter, you could have told someone at school and it had become a way to attract him," Dumbledore explained.

"But how would you can attract him?" Asked the little girl without understanding what he meant.

"If Lord Voldemort really wants or needs you for any of his plans, you would have been a good weapon to control his actions or even to protect the school," Dumbledore commented, but Calynn kept the same expression. "If we threatened you, maybe Lord Voldemort would have to do what we wanted to have you back." He paused and continued. "Lord Voldemort was confident that you were a lover of the Dark Arts, so he would have a spy inside the school," the director explained as the little girl looked at him, she knew he was absolutely right. She looked down and noted that the text was not over and she took the courage to continue reading.

"[...] She will be our legacy, the best of both and, although I will take care of her, I am sure that Tom will be proud when he sees what she has become, there will come a time when she will want everyone to know her as the daughter of Lord Voldemort. For now, she will live with us, Cygnus will always think that she is his true daughter, like her sister, I am sure that no one will have the necessary Legilimency to read my mind, because after so many classes with Tom Riddle, I have developed a great skill.

I am sure you do not know who Lord Voldemort is, but it is Tom himself, this will be his new alias, his new name with which he will become famous to the world. I'm sure Calynn will get excited about the idea of joining the dark side. Tom and I have..." But the little girl was interrupted when Professor McGonagall entered the principal's office.

"Dumbledore," the professor exclaimed with concern, "they are here, the parents are here, right now," she finished as she watched him uncertainly.

The director quickly rose from his chair, stared for a moment at Professor McGonagall and then addressed the girl.

"Miss Riddle..." But he paused, changing his words, causing a gesture of amazement at the teacher. "Miss Black, we will have to continue with this tomorrow, I will call you during the day to talk more about this, go directly to your common room and for no reason deviate," the director ordered as he gave way to the little girl and he was approaching Professor McGonagall.

"We must go with them, Dumbledore," McGonagall whispered as Calynn passed by the teachers.

"Where are them now? the director said worried.

"I've managed to keep them in the lobby." It was almost the last thing the little girl could hear before leaving while she realized that Dumbledore's face paled, "we shouldn't let them go up."

Calynn closed the door thoughtfully as she started down the steps, put on her cloak to avoid being seen in the halls since some aurors were visible, it was evident that they watched the castle even more actively. She began to reflect and realize that, despite everything, the last name Black sounded better than Riddle's. She watched the mark of her arm, melancholic, as she remembered Bellatrix and the events that happened a few hours ago, making her heart ache again as it had never done.
