A/N okay so this is going to be the chapter where you see some growing together of Peeta and Katniss!!!!!!

<Peeta's POV>

Finnick and I have become close. He's told me that his and Annie's son is due soon. I have told him about my situation with Katniss.

"You have to tell her you remember!" Finnick tells me for the hundredth time.

"No! If I tell her then she will think we can be together but we can't, because I could still go mutt," I say again

"Okay well Katniss is strong she can protect herself," Finnick says. I guess I understand him but it's not worth the risk.

<Finnick's POV>

I am getting somewhere with Peeta. He just needs a little push towards her. I decide to call Johanna and ask her about how progress with Katniss is.

"Hi Jo, I was just calling to ask you about your progress with the girl on fire."

"It's great she wants him bad," she answers.

"Well I'm doing okay with Peeta, he wants her and you'll never guess, he remembers everything."

I know this takes her by surprise because it takes awhile for her to answer. "You're kidding right?"

"Nope," I say joyfully.

"Okay we need to set them up make sure Peeta is outside his house to go get bread from the bakery by exactly 4:00. It's 3:49 now so you have like 11 minutes or something. Thats probably is right I don't know math is full of shit." I grin at that.

"Got it bye."

<Katniss POV>

9 minutes later

"Hey Katniss can you go get some fresh bread from the bakery in town. I think I just got my fucking period and I'm craving it."

I really don't want to go to the Mellark bakery but I know how your period feels so I decide I will go. "Yeah sure."

I get my boots on and head out. When I leave it's 3:49

<Peeta's POV>

"Hey Peeta can you go and get some bread from your bakery I want some for Annie when I leave." I hear Finnick yell.

"I can just make it the day you leave," I offer to him

"We like it really stale!"he yells

Finnick has been good to me. It's the least I can do. I throw my boots on and when I head out its excactly 3:49.

<Katniss's POV>

When I open my door I see Peeta walking down the steps. He looks at me. I meet up with him as we walk down the road. The silence is deafening so I speak.

"How have you been?" I ask casually but inside I'm aching.

"Oh um, I've been good how bout you," he answers monotone.

"I um have been um" just say it Katniss! I think this over and over so I go for it. "Peeta I miss you, I have nightmares every night. I need you Peeta! I love you."

"No you don't love me you don't need me!"

I am already crying, "Please Peeta I can't live without you. I don't care if you don't remember what we had all i know is I-"

"I remember." His words hang in the air. I am filled with joy. He's come back to me. I go into kiss him but he backs away. "No! I can't I can only hurt you!"

"Stop saying that! I love you and I need you with me." I am desperate now.

"Katniss I love you but I don't want to hurt you please go away." He loves me.

"No Peeta. No. I love you and you love me."

"You don't need me," he says trying to stay calm.

"Yes I do. I need you." This time he doesn't back away. I feel like it had been forever and it has but finally after an eternity I lock my lips with his.
