it's game day and i finished getting dressed. it's the first time i've took the time to make myself look decent since the divorce and tbh im looking forward to getting back to my old self.

i grabbed my shades and put them on and checked out my fit in the mirror. after i was satisfied i grabbed my phone and car keys and headed out.

every since the girls took me to the club it's given me the motivation to find myself and live my life. i loved that man with everything in me but i refuse to let him hold me back any longer.

i pulled up to the gym and took tunnel photos and headed to the locker room.

"OMG KELSEY YOU LOOK SO GOOD" alysha said.

"aww girl you ate" tiffany said.

"thank you guys. it took a lot to get myself together but i did it" i said smiling.

"proud of you" jackie said smiling at me.

"thank you jack" i replied.

after we got dressed becky came in to give us a pep talk. i tied my shoe laces and took a deep breath. im hoping i can play like my normal self.

"you got this" aja said.

"thank you"

it's really what i needed. encouragement that i can play how i need too no matter the circumstances or how im feeling mentally.

"okay guys let's go get this dub" kirsten said.

TIME SKIP🫶🏾.

we were playing the suns and we all know they got amazing defense and offense. i dribbled the ball and dijonai swiped it from me.

i huffed and rubbed my forehead. this game was not going as planned. i shook my head and walked towards the bench i felt someone pull me back.

"kels stop it's okay. it happens its apart of basketball. the old you wouldn't even react like this you just gotta get back and play defense"

"you getting frustrated only gone make it worse. you yo head up your gonna be okay" jackie said holding my waist.

i nodded and smiled at her. she always knows what to say and how to make me feel better.

"okay" i said smiling.

"now come on let's finish this game out strong" she said and i nodded.

we ended up losing 84-91 and it really made me see the difference in attitude. although we played our hearts out i feel like i could've had a better attitude.

"we played our hearts out til the end and im proud of yall for that and for not giving up" becky said.

after she left the team just started talking about random things and it felt good to just laugh again and let go.

jackie and i walked side by side to our vehicles. idk what it is all of sudden but i really want this girl. the way she make me feel when im around her.

i hearted the message and aja smirked at me making me laugh and shake my head.

"okay guys she's coming over so you guys gotta go" i said.

"so your kicking us out for her ?" aja asked.

"yes i am.. yall can come back tomorrow now bye" i said.

"boy she ain't good for nun" syd mumbled.

"i gotta leave too ? im your baby sister" rickea said.

"yep and i love you but you gotta go too sis. i will call you tomorrow and tell you everything" i said pushing her out.

"sorry ahh bestie" arike mumbled as she ate my fruit snacks.

"girl bye you love me. and look at you always eating my fruit snacks" i said as she stuff 3 more bags in her pocket.

"they just so good. they always so good when they  ain't yours" she said making me laugh.

"okay goodbye bestie" i said pushing her out the door.

"bye I LOVE YOU" arike yelled.

"yeah yeah i love you more" i said shutting the door.

5 minutes later🫶🏾.

i led kelsey upstairs to my room. she took of her hoodie and got in my bed.

"your bed is so comfortable" she said hugging my pillow.

"lol thank you" i said giggling.

i got into bed beside her and turned on netflix. she put her head on my chest and i rubbed her forehead.

"jackie ?" she mumbled into my chest.

"hmm ?"

"your really comforting for a shy person" she said making me giggle.

"lol i can really come out of my shy zone especially when the person i care about is hurting" i said and she smiled.

anyone who know me i don't really talk but when someone come to me about how they feeling imma always be there. and i love that about myself especially since some people think im boujee or whatever lol.
