"omg" i said as jackie shook her head giggling.

a few minutes later i heard the doorbell ring. "I'll get it" i said setting my phone down as the girls continued to talk.

i opened the door where i saw my dad standing at the door. i'm SHOOKETH you hear me ? I literally had no words.

"uh d-dad what are you doing here ?" i asked to stunned to speak.

"i wanted to talk to you" he said.

"dad do you know how long it's been since we last spoke ??"

"yes and that's why im here. i miss you and i don't have anyone else" he said.

"baby who i- ?" jackie said stopping when she saw him at the door.

"i don't really know what to say to you dad. it's been so long" i said.

"you won't even give me the time of day" he said as i could hear the anger in his voice.

"yeah because your the reason my sisters dead" i raised my voice. he grabbed my arm aggressively.

"AYE CHILL TF OUT" jackie yelled pushing him off of me.

"look she's not ready and you gone have to except that. and harassing her ain't gone help yall situation" she added.

"i just wanna talk to my daughter" he said through gritted teeth.

"but she doesn't wanna talk to you. im sorry to tell you that but kels is struggling enough right now. you gotta respect her decision even if it's not what you want" jackie said.

"and who tf are you ?" he asked.

"im her gf and she told me everything. im just tryna help her through her depression. i'm the one that has to watch her break down. i'm the one that's there for her through thick and thin i watched her go through h*ll and back for so long"

"babe it's fine. thank you" i said pulling her inside lightly.

"look im just not ready to face you. it's gonna take time" i said.

"gosh just like your sister.. selfish as h*ll"

"my sister was 5 years old dad. she wasn't selfish she just knew you had anger issues you couldn't control. how can you even say that knowing she's not even here with us anymore ? because of you" i said as tears fell.

"ykw i gotta go.. bye dad" i said shutting the door.

"you okay ?" jack asked. i nodded.. i could tell she could hear me crying.

"it's okay mama.. don't let him get to you. yk your sister so what he says shouldn't matter and yk she's proud of you" she said as i cried into her chest.

"and he just showed up ?" aja asked and i nodded.

"yup.. and he said she was selfish just like her sister.. like she was 5 years old but kels let it be known he had anger issues and her sister was afraid of him" i said.

"my heart hurt for her.. she's been through so much since a little girl" megan said and i nodded.

a few minutes kelsey walked in. we knew it was our q to change the subject to something more unserious.

"KELSEYYY HEYY GIRLL" syd yelled making kelsey laugh.

"hey syd. your so silly" she said making us smile.

"kelsey jackie said your more serious than her" aja said.

"omg she's lying. jackie rarely ever laughs" kels said.

"okay that's true but i laugh 10x more than i use too so you gotta give me that" i said.

"like when we did aja jokes this girl didn't even laugh" kelsey said.

"she said your not funny" she added making me gasp.

"omg i did not aja.. the jokes were good and they made since they just only made me laugh in the inside" i said.

"but her laugh made me laugh" i added.

"nah her snickers is what got me" chelsea said.

"and i just be laughing cus im goofy all around so" syd said.

we finished getting dressed and we went to stretch.

"hey how you feeling my love ?" i asked as we stretched.

"okay i guess. it really traumatized the h*ll outta me cus my sister wasn't selfish but" she said making me nod.

"she wasn't. she was just scared of him because of his anger issues right ?" i said and she nodded her head yes.

"was he abusive ?" i asked slowly. i watched as she took a deep breath.

"you don't have to answer that baby. i was just wondering" i said.

"no it's okay.. um yes he was. he hit my mom a lot but my sister would catch him and when she cried he would hit her" kelsey said.

"i would hide my sister whenever he came home and when he couldn't find her he would take it out on me."

"im telling you he use to beat the f*** outta me until i would black out and not even remember. and my mom was to scared to stop him" she said.

"baby.. im so sorry. i had no idea you went through all of that. your so strong my love and ik your sister so super proud of you." i said.

"thank you bae. it's given me strength and it forced me to grow up early and learn how to fend for myself" she said.

we finished stretching and got on the line because becky was coming. i feel like the more i ask about her childhood it gets worse. ik i just gotta continue to be there for her and comfort her. it just makes me grateful for my life even if we didn't have much.
