Chapter 1: Some Answers

Jamie's POV

This has been a crazy invasion. Whatever the heck just happened, it felt like the end of the world. My aunt and guardian, Chief Rebecca Vincent, told me about what happened except for one thing: who stopped the invasion? The day after this ceremony that happened at the Statue of Liberty was when I planned to ask her. Basically, when she got home from work. I heard her come in and sit down, so I took a deep breath and walked up to her.

"Hi, Aunt Rebecca," I said.

"Hello, Jamie," she replied.

"How was work?" I asked.

"Oh, the usual. Nothing really special," she answered.

I nodded, preparing myself.

"So, I have a quick question. About the invasion," I started.

She sighed and responded, "Jamie, we have talked about this already."

"Not entirely. You never mentioned who stopped it," I replied calmly.

She froze up a little, looking like she didn't know what to say.

She relaxed and said, "Vern 'The Falcon' Fenwick."

I scoffed at that. Does everyone really think that this guy did this? I mean, I don't have anything against the guy, but I really doubt he did any of that stuff.

"Oh please. You expect me to believe that he took out the Shredder last year and alien invaders this week? No offense to the guy, but I doubt he could even take on Baxter Stockman," I protested.

She sighed, a little frustrated. She must've known that whatever she said that wasn't the truth, I wasn't going to buy.

"If I tell you, you probably won't believe me," she insisted.

"Compared to what? We were invaded by aliens and apparently there were two criminals who were mutated into a rhino and warthog. If you really think I won't believe what you're going to tell me, you're wrong," I pointed out.

"Good point. But you have to promise to not tell anyone," she said.

"I promise on a stack of bibles that I will not tell anyone," I replied then sat with my head in my hands and my elbows on my knees, ready for her to tell me what was going on.

"Okay, there are...mutant turtles that live somewhere in this city...in secret. They saved the city from the Shredder and the aliens. We met them not too long before the invasion, but we judged them before we knew more about them. When we were about to arrest them, a woman named April O'Neil and a man named Casey Jones took the fall for what happened at the police headquarters. We helped them get to the Chrysler building so they could not only save the city, but the world also. They are the real heroes," she explained.

I was amazed. You can't just make this stuff up. Also the fact that she had names of who knew them. I wanted to meet them and the turtles, but didn't know exactly where to start. Then I decided to contact this April O'Neil person to see if that could be possible.

"Wow. That's really cool. Thank you for telling me," I said, starting to walk to the hallway.

"Your welcome. Good night," she responded.

"Good night, Aunt Rebecca," I replied then left to go in my room.

Before I did though, I grabbed my aunt's phone to see if April's number was in there. Luckily, it was. So I saved it into my phone, put her phone back, and went into my room. I locked the door and called the number. It rang twice then someone picked it up.

"Hello?" a female voice said.

"Um hi. Is this April O'Neil?" I asked.

"Yes, this is she. Who is this?" she wondered.

"My name is Jamie Dabbs. I'm Rebecca Vincent's niece," I answered.

"Oh hi. So is there anything in particular you want?" she responded in a pleasant way.

"Um yes. Now I promise that I just found this out tonight and I haven't told anyone, but my aunt has told me who really saved the city from Shredder and those aliens and she mentioned you and this guy named Casey Jones knew them," I explained.

She didn't respond at first, but she quickly got back up.

"So you know about the turtles?" she asked.

"Yes, and I swear I won't tell anyone who doesn't know about them. I was wondering if you and I can officially meet to talk about this more in person," I responded.

"Sure. Would tomorrow at noon in Central Park be good?" she suggested.

"Yes ma'am. Can we meet at the entrance?" I asked.

"Sounds good. Good night, Jamie," she responded.

"Good night, April," I said, then hung up.

I can't believe it. This is actually happening. I not only get to meet someone close to the heroes of this city, but may get the chance to meet them in person. I got ready for bed and slept with a smile on my face.

A/N Is April already putting full trust in Jamie about the turtles over a phone call? Will Jamie get her chance to meet the turtles? We can only hope.
