Chapter No 1

This Chapter Is Unedited!!!

Samose.

She said, her voice filled with delight as she placed the trey on the table and served everyone.

Waise man-na padega Meera Shakal chahe jaisi bhi ho tum khana bahot acha banati ho.

She gasped up breathlessly, sitting upright on the bed.

She looked around, the candle flames flickered casting gentle patterns over the walls. She blinked her eyes, the images clouding her mind made her breath hitch. Sweat beads formed and rolled down her forehead

Rabba.

She exclaimed, her voice caressed with sleep and she held her head.

Yeh sab kya ho raha hai mere sath.

She thought and looked around with a sigh. She looked at the right and bent towards the table. Pulling out a few tissues from the tissue box, she cleaned the sweat away from her face and forehead.

She ran a hand over her face and palmed her mouth then, breathing shakily.

Her heart pounded wildly in her ears as she cried out, restless and then she wrapped her arms around herself. She shivered feeling her own hands too cold to bear.

Meenakshi.

Hearing a voice right in her ear, her head jolted up and she looked at the person sitting in front of her, her eyes laced with horror.

Maherunisa.

Meenakshi chocked out, her voice trembling as she struggled to compose herself, the cry that was about to escape her lips was held back with a forced breath she had sucked in.

Meenakshi.

Maherunisa called out, her voice trembling with concern as she reached out and gently wiped the sweat away from her forehead with her dupatta.

Phir se....

Meera trailed off struggling to hold back her sobs.

Maherunisa sighed and reached out to hold Meera,s hand but Meera gasped.

Meera,s body went stiff with tension, her eyes slid shut as she gasped feeling Maherunisa holding her hand.

Kya dekha?

Meenakshi bit onto her bottom lip and shook her head, a sob trembled out of her lips.

Mujhe nahin pata.

Meenakshi said, her voice trembling as she held her head with her cold hand feeling a dull throb of pain.

Theek hai. Chinta mat karo tum.

Maherunisa said, her voice softening as she reached out and pulled Meenakshi into a gentle embrace.

Meenakshi,s heart felt heavy for her to carry, a lump formed in her throat and she then sobbed softly, bitting her lower lip to control herself from sobbing. Maherunisa stroked her back, her throat was tight with emotion as she murmured Sweet nothings in her ears.

After what felt like infinity, Meenakshi,s cries lowered and soon stopped. Maherunisa pulled back and caressed Meenakshi,s forehead with a tender touch.

Ab theek ho?

She asked softly raising an eyebrow.

Meenakshi nodded her head in positive, gulping as she wiped her tears with the back of her palm.

Achi baat hai.

She said softly and stood up.

Kahan ja rahi hain di?

Meenakshi asked, her voice heavy from crying.

Kahin nahin.

She said taking a step forward. She reached for the glass of cold water placed on the side table and held it out for Meenakshi.

Yeh lo. Pani piyo.

She said softly. Meenakshi gulped feeling her throat suddenly dry and a dull ache in her head.

Meenakshi held the glass and sipped the water slowly. Once she was done, she wiped her mouth with a tissue.

Maherunisa smiled and reached out to hold Meenakshi,s shoulder to help her lay down on the bed.

As Meenakshi sunk into the soft mattress, exhaustion clung to her like a second skin. She blinked her eyes but couldn't sleep.

Maherunisa placed a hand over her eyes blocking her view. Meenakshi groaned softly in discomfort feeling her head ache.

Maherunisa patted her head, her touch gentle and comforting, her voice a soft melody in the otherwise quite room

So jao.

Meenakshi sighed giving up over her struggle to stay awake, the tension melting away from her bones, her face softening in the gentle embrace of sleep.

Meenakshi gulped, sliding down on the floor, her knees pulled up to her chest as she sat into a small corner in the chamber, her eyes laced with horror.

Taiyar karo isse. Aaj yeh nachegi mehfil mein.

Tabinda begum, the owner of the brothel said, Meenakshi trembled hearing her commanding tone.

She gasped feeling a cold touch on her head and forced herself to look up, the hard expression on Tabinda begum,s face made Meenakshi gasp, her fear intensifying.

Nahin.

Meenakshi chocked out with a shake of her head.

Aisa mat kijiye mere sath.

Meenakshi cried, her voice breaking in anguish.

Chup!!!

Tabinda begum yelled out with a raise of her palm. Meenakshi trembled, her heart raced with fear but she couldn't hear it, Tabinda begum,s yell was ringing in her ears blocking every other source of sound.

As Tabinda begum,s lips curled into a dark smile, Meenakshi felt bile raising in her throat and her hand moved to her throat. She forced herself to gulp rather fearfully and forced her eyes to blink.

She continued to gaze at Tabinda begum with a racing heart. She wanted to look away, to shield herself from her scornful gaze but found that she could not, her presence commanded Meenakshi,s full attention.

As Tabinda begum kneeled in front of Meenakshi, Meenakshi gasped trembling.

Mera woh....

Meenakshi trailed off as Tabinda begum forced a smile on her face, her eyes darkening.

Hum yahan tumhein na noorkur kerne ke liye nahin laaye.

She said with a dark smile.

She reached out, cupping her face rather harshly and Meenakshi yelped out, jolts of pain coursing through her body.

Iss liye nahin laaye tumhein yahan.

With that, she pushed Meenakshi away with great force and Meenakshi gasped out, her head hitting the bed post behind and a yell made it's way out of her mouth.

Tabinda begum stood on her feet and turned to face a girl who was looking down at the floor.

Taiyar karo isse.

She ordered and left from there.

Meenakshi leaned back against the bed post and cried out, the ache in her head was nothing compared to the ache in her chest.

Her nails dug into the fabric of her Shalwar as she hugged herself wrapping her arms around her knees finding solace in her own embrace.

She still remembered the stormy night when she had jolted up from her unconscious state, she had looked around, confusion etched across her features, her hand had moved up to her head and she touched the right side and yelped in pain realizing that her head was bandaged. She blinked her eyes rapidly to clear her vision. She had looked around trying to make sense of her surrounding with a blank mind.

Kon hoon mein?

She had asked to herself feeling her head ache and closed her eyes. She tried to remember but her mind was blank.

Meenakshi.

She had heard a whisper right in her ear and blinked her eyes before uplifting her face only to find a kind looking lady standing in front of her.

Chal.

She felt a grip at her arm and tried to resist.

Kon hain aap?

She had asked, her voice sounded strained, her throat was dry, a shiver of unease racing down her spine.

The old woman had stared down at her with disgust and had spoken, her voice carrying a sharp edge.

Wohi jo iss bojh ko itne salon se paal rahi hai.

Per mujhe.

She trailed off gasping.

Kuch yaad nahin hai.

She had forced the words out of her mouth, her words were barely above a whisper, her voice caught somewhere between her dry throat and her racing heart.

She had held her by her arm with a force that had made her gasp, pain shooting up her arm.

She palmed her face at the memories, the wounds were still fresh and she cried at the memories.

Yehi kismat hai tumhari. Tumhara ghar.

Tabinda begum,s words cut through her heart like a sharp blade slicing through flesh and she shook her head feeling an intense pain in her chest, her tears flowing freely.

Soon she felt a touch on her head, warm and comforting and she looked up.

Di.

Meenakshi cried out, hef voice chocking.

Main nahin...

Meenakshi trailed off, gasping for breath and she hugged her.

Meenakshi cried her eyes out in her embrace. Maherunisa stroked her back kissing the top of her head.

Meenakshi.

She called out softly and pulled back from the hug.

Bhag jao.

She said softly catching Meenakshi off guard.

Yahan se bhagna mumkin nahin hai.

She palmed Meenakshi,s mouth and shook her head sideways.

Mujh per bharosa karo.

Meenakshi nodded her head in positive with a sob escaping her.
