"A SHATTERING LIGHT- THE CEREMONY"

[Scene: A memorial service is being held for Hannah Ellis Delaney.]

Speaker: We are gathered here today for this important and special ceremony. The life which we all saw come into this world has shattered into a million pieces, and our hearts have shattered along with it. Jesus Christ once said in Matthew 5:14-16, "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." That light which has now shattered was none other than Hannah Ellis Delaney, one of the most cheerful and compassionate student that we ever had in our school district. Today, we gather to celebrate her life, a life that was taken from us in the blink of an eye. And now, I would like to present to you a special video made by her former classmates and friends.

[The video begins playing.]

Samatha: My name is Samatha. I'm a senior in Class A at Seinfeld Theater High School. Hannah was just this little shy girl I used to bully a lot. She was quiet and lonely most of the time, but I had no doubt that she was a kind person to everyone. Being kind and forgiving others is hard, but Hannah taught just that . Kindness and Forgiveness.

Brandon: My name is Brandon. I'm a senior in Class A at Seinfeld High School, and I play forward for the Seinfeld basketball team. I always thought Hannah was a very interesting girl, always asking everyone if they needed anything or comfort. She wasn't the ordinary girl who hung out with friends after school or ditched class whenever she felt like it. No, she wasn't like that. Instead, she was more intuitive than anyone in the class. Even though we didn't talk much, Hannah taught me not only one thing but two: to be a good listener and to understand one's feelings.

Sophie: My name is Sophie, and I'm a senior at Seinfeld High School. When I met Hannah for the first time, I thought she was just an angel to me. She not only helped me ease my trauma and sometimes stepped out of my comfort zone, but she also comforted me with her genuine and sympathetic nature. She helped me understand why bad things happen to our loved ones. Hannah was more than just a friend; she was another sister I couldn't ask for.

Jake: My name is Jake, and I'm an old friend of Hannah's. I remember meeting Hannah in the nurse's office for the first time. There's one thing I will never forget, and that is Psalm Chapter 147 verse 3 which states, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." I'm positive that Hannah has healed these wounds in me.

Harold: My name is Harold, a former senior A classmate. My dream or goal for the future is to become an astronomer to study the stars in the sky. Hannah told me of how much there is to explore in this vast universe we live in. But not only did she tell me with her own words; instead, she showed me the universe in her hands. In the book of Genesis, Chapter 1, it states, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light." She showed me this verse from her Bible that very night, and I believe it's true. Hannah, you will always be in our hearts. Pinky promise.

Speaker: Let's give another round of applause to the classmates who made this special video just for Hannah. Now, I would like to ask Hannah's mother to come up to the stage to receive Hannah's Senior A High School diploma.

[Everyone claps and shouts "Hannah!" multiple times, even those former bullies.]

Speaker: Do you wish to say anything?

Hannah's Mother: I just want to thank God first for giving me such a special daughter and such wonderful classmates in her life. I want to thank the school board and everyone who's gathered here today to celebrate the life of my little Ellis. Thank you all.

[Hannah's mother walks towards her daughter's coffin, covered in all types of white flowers, and places her diploma on top of it before it is laid down for burial. But there was one thing missing...]
