The next morning, Jun-seo woke up early, as he always did, and went to the kitchen to grab a glass of water. He hadn't came out of his room ever since he entered it last night, so he didn't know what his housemates were up to, and when he walked past the living room, he saw his friends asleep on the couch, the controllers in their hands while the TV screen was dark, but it wasn't turned off as it occasionally blinked to life with a small window that reads 'no signal'.

"You guys sure filled your semester break with productive activities," muttered Jun-seo before chuckling softly, resuming his walk to the kitchen. He grabbed a glass from the rack and walked to the fridge, opening it and grabbing a bottle of cold water.

He peeked his head up from the fridge when he heard his name being called from the living room. "What is it?" he asked in response.

"Can you get me a glass of water?" asked one of his friends, Jungwon.

Jun-seo didn't say anything, but he did grab another empty glass from the rack and filled it with water for his friend. After he had finished his glass, he lazily made his way to the living room, handing it to the guy who was half-awake on the armchair, his legs dangling on the armrest while he stared at the ceiling.

He extended his hand, and Jungwon took the glass from his hand, muttering a quiet thank you before sighing. "Isn't it weird that the choices we made in our dreams are better than the ones we made in our real life?" he blurted out, and Jun-seo, who was looking around, not really paying attention to Jungwon's words, looked at him.

"What?"

Jungwon raised an eyebrow, "hmm?"

Jun-seo shook his head, "never mind..." he replied and cleared his throat before looking around again, scratching the back of his head. "Ah, I should clean the house today," he exclaimed while walking toward the cushions that were scattered across the floor.

Jungwon yawned and drank his glass of water before pushing himself up from the armchair, "do you need a hand?"

"Nah, it's okay. I will take care of this," refused Jun-seo, placing the cushions on the couch before looking at Jungwon with a small smile. "Why don't you prepare breakfast for us?" he suggested.

"Yeah, sure," nodded Jungwon before stretching his arms, "let me just take a shower first, and I will be right on it."

And with that, Jungwon walked out of the living room and entered his room. Meanwhile, their other housemate, Jake, was just waking up from his sleep. The controller slid down his chest as he stretched his arms, but right before it could hit the floor, he quickly grabbed it. "That was close," he exclaimed while chuckling.

Jake looked at Jun-seo, who was busy organizing the cushions, "oh, good morning Jun!" greeted him with a lazy smile.

"How was your sleep?" asked Jun-seo as he straightened his back and looked at Jake.

"Oh, it was good, like, really good," he replied, slowly sitting up on the couch. He yawned and did some stretching again before finally standing up, a lazy smile still etched on his face as he looked at Jun-seo. "Where is Jungwon?"

Jun-seo walked toward the coffee table and grabbed the controllers from the armchair and couch before placing them on the table, "he said he was going to take a shower, then he will prepare breakfast," he replied.

Jake nodded and hummed lazily, "is that so?" he asked before huffing, "I guess I will do the same then," he added, turning on his heels and walking out of the living room, and into his room.

As he disappeared into his room, Jun-seo watched him. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he looked at the empty pizza boxes on the coffee table, and then at the doors to their rooms—although they were sleeping in the living room and were playing video games all night long, they were not, as people would say, lazybones. It just so happened that they worked part-time at a place that opened only three days a week, and those days being Friday and the weekends.

He grabbed the empty boxes and took them to the trash can, throwing them away before heading to the kitchen to wash his hands. Once he was done, he made his way back to his room, but before he could enter, the front door rang, making Jun-seo sigh.

"Coming," he said as he trudged toward the door. Once he got there, he stared at the door handle for a few seconds, about to space out when the doorbell rang once again, snapping him out of his thoughts.

Jun-seo cleared his throat and opened the door, "can I help you?" he asked before his eyes landed on the person in front of him. It took him a moment to process what was going on before shaking his head, "nope, not doing it today," he said, closing the door.

Before the door could fully close, Wonyoung stopped it with her long leg while her hands pushed against the door, "Ahn Jun-seo, I need to talk to you," she said, struggling to open it because Jun-seo was also trying to close it from the other side.

"I gave you my choice last night, didn't I?" he told Wonyoung.

Wonyoung, on the other side, shook her head and continued to struggle against the door, "you were too quick with your answer, so I know you weren't sure with your decision either," she retorted, looking down at her foot. If she didn't pull it away soon, it would end up bad for her.

But Jun-seo was aware of it too, that he was winning, so he quickly stopped and let go of the door, taking a step back. "You really are persistent, aren't you?" he grumbled, letting Wonyoung open the door.

"Only because it's you," replied Wonyoung as she slid into the house and quickly looked around. It was the first time she ever set foot in Jun-seo's shared apartment with his two other housemates, and surprise, surprise—it was better than she had expected.

Ignoring her, Jun-seo huffed and turned on his heels. "I am going to take a shower first," he told her as he walked toward his room, grumbling about how Wonyoung could've at least called or texted him before coming over, but no. She had to come when his face was all puffy and unorganized overall.

After he took his shower, Jun-seo stepped out of his room and into the dining room where Jake was talking to Wonyoung. The former looked over at Jun-seo when he heard the door closing, a huge smile on his face. "Speak of the devil, there he is!"

Wonyoung looked at Jake, and then followed his eyes to Jun-seo, who was now making his way to join them at the table, his hands in his pockets while he avoided the girl's gaze. His action resulted in him almost tripping over the raised platform between the living room and the dining room.

He cleared his throat and pretended like nothing happened as he sat beside Jake, his face red from embarrassment. "Now, would you tell me what you need, Wonyoung?" he asked, still not meeting her eyes.

"Like I said, I wanted you to take the position," she said, ignoring Jun-seo's attempt in playing it cool as she crossed her arms and leaned against the chair, looking at her ex with a hopeful expression.

Jun-seo hummed and finally looked at her, "well, tough luck, Jang Wonyoung—I refused."

Dissatisfied by his answer, Wonyoung uncrossed her arms and leaned forward, "oh, please, Jun-seo, are you sure that's your final decision?"

To be honest, even Jun-seo was a bit unsure if that's what he wanted, but then again, holding such an important position was not something that he was looking forward to. He had a bad history with any position that has to do with dealing with other people, and he didn't want it to repeat.

He was snapped out of his thoughts as he felt a hand on his shoulder, and he turned to look at Jake, who was smiling supportively at him. "Come on, Jun, I know you are more than capable of filling in that position!" he said with a grin, giving a thumbs up at the same time.

"What about you, Jungwon? Do you think I should accept?" asked Jun-seo, looking at his friend that was listening from the kitchen.

Jungwon nodded, "I think you should," he said before shrugging. "But then again, it is up to you in the end," he quickly added before turning around and walking toward the stove to check on the meal he was cooking.

After getting his friends' opinions, Jun-seo sighed and stared at the table for a few seconds. Wonyoung decided not to say anything as she didn't want to pressure him into making a choice when he wasn't ready. After a few more seconds, Jun-seo still hasn't given his decision, so Wonyoung nodded understandingly.

"I see," she muttered before getting up. "Well, take your time and think about it. You have until this Friday to decide," she told him. Wonyoung walked out of the dining room and toward the front door when Jungwon peeked his head from the kitchen.

"Wait, you aren't joining us for breakfast?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Wonyoung looked at him with raised eyebrows before smiling, shaking her head. "I'm afraid I will have to pass," she said before looking at Jun-seo, "after all, I'm sure someone wouldn't appreciate me lingering around longer than I should," she added.

Jungwon stared at her for a while before looking at Jun-seo, nodding understandingly. "Ah, I see," he muttered quietly before smiling, "well, let me at least walk you to the front door," he offered.

Before Wonyoung could answer, Jun-seo got up from his seat and looked at Jungwon, "I'll walk her," he told him before walking up to the girl. Wonyoung stared at him for a while, slightly surprised that her ex would be bothered to walk her out of the house.

"Let's go then," she finally said as she started to walk. Jun-seo nodded and followed quietly behind her.

In the end, Jun-seo ended up walking her to the bus stop. But throughout the walk, they were silent. Once they got to the bus stop, Wonyoung turned on her heels and smiled at Jun-seo, "you can go back now, I will be fine from here on," she told him.

Jun-seo stared at her for a few seconds before nodding, "sure, have a good day," he curtly said before turning on his heels, about to make his way back to the apartment while Wonyoung watched him.

But it wasn't long before she called for him, "Ahn Jun-seo," she said, and Jun-seo looked over his shoulder. "Can I ask you something?"

"What is it?"

Wonyoung took a deep breath and nodded, "okay, um, do you still have feelings for me?" she asked, catching Jun-seo off guard.

Jun-seo stared at her for a while, thinking about what he should say. A part of him was still hoping that there would be chances for them to get back together, but another part of him was convinced that they were done, that this chapter was over—that he was ready to move on.

He found himself in a hard spot and he wasn't ready to give his answer, yet. "I..." Wonyoung raised her eyebrows, waiting for his answer. Jun-seo looked around, trying to delay his answer, and when he saw the bus approaching, he quickly found an excuse to avoid the question. "The bus," he told her.

"What?" replied Wonyoung, confused.

Jun-seo cleared his throat and pointed at the bus, "the bus is here," he told her and she quickly looked behind her, and sure enough, the bus was there, stopping and waiting for passengers to get on.

Wonyoung nodded, "oh," she muttered, and for a second, Jun-seo was sure that there was a hint of disappointment in her tone, but she quickly shrugged it off and flashed a smile at him. "Well, I will see you when the new semester starts, and remember to give your answer soon," she told him before waving.

"Goodbye, Ahn Jun-seo."

Jun-seo nodded in response, "sure, see you then," he hummed and watched her get on the bus.
