Mulan sat in a rocking chair with her swollen belly. She would be expecting her baby soon, and she was excited. She turned to her left and saw the new journal that she had bought at the market yesterday.  Mulan intended on writing about her journey with this child, so what better time to start than now. With Li Shang being overprotective, she had nothing better to do.

What would she write about? What would be her first story? What if she wrote about girl things and it ended up being a boy?

Mulan thought in the silence of her own home. Suddenly, she knew what she would write about.

Honor. Honor to the family could apply to both genders. She quickly began to write.

Hello my love,
Since this is my first entry, I thought I would begin with a story. You are going to be a child for some time, so I expect there to be many stories in the future. This one in particular will be about honor. By now you have heard of my heroic story on how I went to war for our country. But this story isn't told to everyone.

When you are reading this journal, I assume you are older, and about to make a choice for your life. Back when I was in your shoes, the only way to bring honor to the family was to have the men go to war, and the women get married. That still goes on today, but I want you to know that there are different ways to bring honor to the family, which you will see within the story.

THREE. YEARS AGO

Mulan checked her locket that Gandalf had given her. You see, Gandalf was familiar in traveling to different dimensions. She had met him during the war. Because he saved her life, Mulan was willing to help with whatever she could.

"Mulan?" Li Shang asked. "What's the matter?"

Mulan sighed,  she hadn't told her boyfriend that she was needed by Gandalf.

"Gandalf will be coming here soon. He has requested my presence on his realm."

"No! That's too dangerous!" Li Shang exclaimed.

Mulan gave a simple smile before touching his shoulder. "You forget love that I saved our country. Besides, time is different in their world. I'll be back in time for our date tonight."

Li Shang nodded. He didn't like the fact that she was leaving all by herself to a new realm. "Why must you go on so many adventures?"

"Hey! You knew how adventurous I was when you asked me out." Mulan teased while pecking his cheek.

Suddenly, Gandalf appeared, and Mulan was gone in a flash. Li Shang stood silent, but he felt a glimmer of hope inside him as he held the beautiful ring within his pocket.

In Middle Earth, they were in Rivendell. Mulan was in awe of the splendor of the kingdom. She met the nine members of the company, and spent an entire month helping people train and prepare for the journey.

"Let's get down to business! To defeat the Huns." Mulan hummed.

"What song is that?" Aragorn asked.

"Oh it's a song from my kingdom in which our army sings to prepare for war."

"We should make our own version." Pippin said with a grin.

There was an awkward silence and Pippin was sure they we're going to reject his idea.

"Let's get down to business! To defeat Sauron!" Aragorn sang with a grin.

"Did they send me daughters when I asked for sons." Boromir chimed in.

"Your the bravest Fellowship I've ever met, But you can bet before we're through, Mister I'll make a warrior out of you." Mulan sang with a grin.

"Tranquil as a forest, but on fire within. Once we find our center, we are sure to win!" Frodo continued with the group.

The journey continued, and Legolas, Gimli, Aragorn, and Mulan were trying to find the hobbits.

"IM NEVER GONNA CATCH MY BREATH." Gimli heaved as he sprinted the short distance. (Very dangerous to go against a dwarf.)

"Say goodbye to those who knew me!" Legolas leaped in the air.

"Boy I was a fool for cutting gym." Gimli muttered.

"You must be swift as a coursing river." Aragorn sang

"With all the force of a great typhoon," Legolas sang.

"With all the strength of a raging fire, mysterious as the moon!" Mulan finished.

The journey had now progressed, and it was the final battle. Aragorn gave his speech, and he motioned for Legolas, Gimli, Pippin, Merry, and Mulan to motivate the soldiers.

"You must be swift as a coursing river
With all the force of a great typhoon.
With all the strength of a raging fire,
Mysterious as the dark side of the moon!"

The soldiers were ready to fight for their homeland. They charged the orcs courageously with Aragorn as their leader.

"Time is racing towards us." Aragorn thought. He was worried that Sam and Frodo wouldn't make it. "Til Sauron arrives." He pulled Merry and Pippin from a slicing blade.  "Heed mg every order! And you might survive!"

The battle was finally over. Frodo and Sam had indeed destroyed the one ring. Soon, it was Aragorn's coronation and Mulan would be going home soon.  Aragorn noticed the four hobbits bowing, and tears filled his eyes.

"My friends you bow to no one."

Mulan was in awe as everyone kneeled in front of the hobbits. Truly, the smallest creature could make a world of a difference. Once everyone dispersed, the hobbits approached Mulan.

"We just wanted to say thank you. We couldn't have survived without you." Merry said with a smile.

"Indeed." Legolas said while approaching with Gimli. "I couldn't ask for a better friend."

Mulan decided to spend a couple of weeks after the coronation. She wasn't ready to leave her family yet. However, it was time to leave now that Frodo and the elves were sailing to the West.

"Mulan? Are you ready to go?" Gandalf asked. The hobbits looked at you in shock.

"Are you leaving?" Merry asked.

"Yes dear one." Mulan answered softly. "I must go to my homeland."

The hobbits began to weep in dismay. For they thought they would never see their friend again.

"Don't worry. I'm sure Aragorn will call me when he needs me." Mulan teased.  "And please do not cry. It is the beginning of a new chapter for all of us."

"My friends."  Legolas said with a mischievous grin. Immediately they all got together to sing their anthem.

"YOU MUST BE SWIFT AS A COURSING RIVER! WITH ALL THE FORCE OF A GREAT TYPHOON. WITH ALL THE STRENGTH OF A RAGING FIRE, MYSTERIOUS AS THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOOOOONN!"

When they all parted, Mulan hugged each member. They were all dear friends of hers, and she would miss them terribly. When she approached the weeping hobbits, she knelt to their level.

"My friends." Mulan whispered. "I've made warriors out of you."

Gandalf opened the portal and Mulan made her way to it.

"Mulan!" Aragorn called out. Mulan faced him curiously.

Aragorn gave a soft smile. "You've brought honor to us all."

Mulan grinned before stepping to her land. When she opened her eyes, she could see the sun setting.

"There you are!" Li Shang hugged her tightly. "How was your adventure?"

"It was good."'Mulan said with a small smile. "Well? Am I late for our date?"

"You are punctual as always." Li Shang smirked. "Come, let's us go and sit."

The date was enjoyable. However, Mulan could sense Li Shang's nervousness.

"What is it?" Mulan asked "is something wrong?"

"No. I actually have a major question to ask-" Li Shang's eyes focused towards the bright light in which the Fellowship stood with Gandalf. However, Mulan was only focused on Li Shang.

"My love, we have been courting for a year. I couldn't have asked for a better girlfriend. We've gone on so many adventures. And so......" Li Shang stopped to pull out a ring. "Will you say yes to the biggest adventure of all?"

Mulan yelled yes and Li Shang spun her around in a circle. Gandalf set off fireworks and turned to see the Fellowship standing there with tears in their eyes. Mulan sprinted towards them and everyone engulfed her in a hug.

"What a lovely way to start our new adventure." 

And so my dear child, there are many ways to bring honor to the family. Whether you get married, or become as adventurous as I have, you will bring honor to our family. My point in all of this, is that i want you to be happy. Don't conform to our society's standards to compromise your happiness.

With that dear one, I shall end here until I have more advice to give.
