A girl from another realm 9
The company groaned at the guards request, and slowly began to file out. Kili however, could barely stand and Thorin sat him in a chair. "You need to stay here. We will be back for you. Fili, Oin, Bilbo, and Bofur will look after you."
Kili couldn't even protest he was that weak. You gathered your weapons, and made your way towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Kili asked hoarsely.
"To get something to cure you. We can't have you dying over here can we?" You joked before heading towards the herb house in Laketown. You greeted the woman, and tried to look around the shop for a cure.
"Can I help you miss?" The woman asked kindly.
"Yes I need something to cure poison from a morgul arrow." You responded.
"My, we don't have anything like that. We are but a small town." She remarked sadly. "The most we have is a small plant. It's not much, but it will help with the fever and cold symptoms."
You thanked her kindly, and began to walk back to the house when you were pulled into an alley.
"Faye!" You exclaimed while giving her a hug. "Where have you been?"
"With Gandalf." She said while trying to catch her breath. "Have you got it? Is it secret? Is it safe?"
"Yeah I have it. What's going on?"
"The dwarves need to make a run for the mountain. Smaug will be up soon." She responded. "and he will come straight for lake town."
"How? We don't even have a way to defeat him?"
"You do with this." Faye spoke while pulling out a long black arrow. "I found it, on my adventures with Gandalf. Use it wisely."
You took the packaged black arrow, and tucked it under your arm. "Anything else?"
"It will be far more gruesome than you will think. Azog is coming soon." She spoke, while pulling her hood over her face. "I must go."
"Where are you going???" You exclaimed.
"To get the elves. Trust me Y/N... we will need all the help we can get."
"But- what am I supposed to do?" You said while feeling quite overwhelmed.
Faye turned around to face you and placed a golden whistle in your hand. "Use this in your most desperate hour."
Within a blink of an eye, she was gone. You quickly saw the company slowly make there way to the center square and you yelled for them.
"What is it?" Thorin asked. "Is Kili alright?"
"I hope so. Listen, you don't have time to give a speech. You need to get to the mountain. Now. The dragon is coming, and people will try and take the mountain."
"Wait wait wait how do you know this?"
"Magic powers! Never mind that. I'll get Kili and the others to join you. I promise I'll explain later, just please trust me!" You practically yelled at the dwarves. They wasted no time grabbing a boat and getting ready to set sail. Hopefully, they would leave in a few minutes.
"What about you?" Dwalin asked. "Are you coming?"
You smiled wistfully. "I have a job to do."
In Bard's house, Kili screamed in agony as his brother and friends held him down.
"Where is she! We need those herbs." Fili grunted while holding his brother.
"I can help with that." Tauriel spoke, as she entered the house. "I've been looking for you everywhere."
"For what purpose?" Fili asked
"We've been told that a dragon will soon come out of the mountain." Tauriel began, "and it is the start of a large battle."
"Never mind that!" Bilbo yelled, "We can chat later."
Tauriel nodded and began to chant in the elvish language while applying Kingsfoil. After the enchantment was done, He cupped her face, and placed a gentle kiss, on your lips. Tauriel, Fili, Bilbo, Oin and Bofur all had a bewildered look on their faces, as if to say what happened?
It was at that moment, that you were about to step through the doorway, but the sight in front of you broke your heart into a million pieces. You covered your mouth, and ran outside. You still didn't want to cause too much attention despite the circumstances. However, Bilbo saw you out of the corner of his eye and excused himself for a moment.
"Y/N?" He asked. "What's wrong?"
You gave a look as if to say Seriously? Your asking me what's wrong? Death was inevitable, unless someone was going to love you in a way that would put your heart back together.
"Bilbo I'm dying." You said hoarsely, the tears flowing down your cheeks. "I don't have that much time."
"Dying from what?" Bilbo asked, his concern through the roof.
"Elves can die of a broken h-heart-" You said, before letting out a scream of pure agony. You sank to your knees and clutched your chest. You could feel the burning sensation in your chest and it was almost unbearable.
"No no no no!" Bilbo said while keeping back tears. "But-"
"It doesn't matter. What's done is done." You finished. "You and the others need to hurry. They are waiting for you at the docks. Go. Quickly."
"I'm not leaving you." He responded firmly.
"You must. The dragon is coming lake town and I have a job like no other." You responded. "Please trust me."
"What do I tell Kili?" He said, the tears now dripping from his eyes.
"Tell him I love him." You said with a wistful smile. "But promise me, you will not tell Kili how I died. I want him to be happy, even if it isn't with me."
"But!-"
"Promise me, dear friend. That's all I ask." You said hoarsely. "Please promise me."
Bilbo nodded, and gave you the tightest of hugs. "I'm going to miss you ya know."
"I know." You whispered before giving him one last smile. "I know."
You let go, and ran down the alleyway. Bilbo wiped his tears, and went to do as you instructed. You stood behind a house, to gather a few thoughts before you told Bard.
"Y/N?" A familiar voice asked. You turned and saw Bard with his children. "What's going on? The dwarves just left and-"
"The dragon is coming. We need to find some sort of shelter." You responded. "Do you have any kind of shelter?"
"No." He said sadly. "We just have our homes."
"Da are we going to die?" Tilda asked.
"No darling. We will make it out alive I promise." Bard spoke softly.
You saw the stone, wood, and metal sitting by the docks. You did indeed have magic, so why not make a underground fortress? No one would die, and it would just be you and the dragon.
You quickly found an empty spot, towards the more open area of town, and made a huge opening in the hill. With a flick of your wrist, you had built a underground fortress that had a secure door, and the fort would not collapse under the weight of a dragon. The family looked at you with amazement, and a chuckle escaped Bards lips.
"Well that is certainly one way to defend the town."
You gave a small smile. "There are two exits. The other one leads to the town of Dale. get your people, and start getting inside."
"They won't listen to me." Bard said.
"No. They will listen to both of us." You replied. Bard instructed his children to gather supplies from the house and get inside the fortress.
At this point, people of Laketown had noticed your presence and gathered around. "People of Laketown! A dragon is coming! You must trust me on this! There is a fortress that is ready, and will lead you to Dale. Take this warning seriously, and gather weapons, food, clothing, and lanterns-"
"Yeah? Why should we listen to you and your consort?" Alfred yelled.
You had almost forgotten that the two of you were "courting". However, Bard responded quickly. "It's your choice. But the chances of you surviving a dragon attack are very slim."
The people indeed took the warning, and quickly ran to their homes to gather supplies. Within an hour, the majority of Laketown was in the fortress.
"Y/N!" A familiar voice called out. Legolas leaped from his horse, and gave an endearing hug to greet you.
"Legolas!" You exclaimed happily. "What are you doing here?"
"I've come to help. Faye told me everything, and she is trying to convince my father to join.....What's going on here?"
"We are trying to get the people of Laketown in safely before the dragon arrives." You responded. Another painful searing sensation filled your heart, and Legolas could see you were in pain.
"What's wrong my lady?"
"Nothing I'm fine." You muttered. "Just a little bit of heartburn that's all."
Sorrow filled his face as he recognized the symptom. "The dwarf broke your heart didn't he?"
"He kissed Tauriel. I think it's pretty clear who he's into. And here I am, being forced to wallow in misery."
"Not unless it was a mistake?" Legolas suggested. "Tauriel has no interest in the dwarf. She only came because she knew that he was poisoned, and didn't want him to die. "
You scoffed in disbelief. "Yeah well. Unless he professes his undying love I don't believe it."
Suddenly, the ground shook, and smoke erupted from the mountain.
"It's time."
