A girl from another realm 3
As the company traveled, you felt two sets of horses come on either side of you.
"Hello!" Kili smiled, causing you to laugh.
"Doing alright?" Fili asked.
"Thank you both I'm quite alright and you?" You asked. "I don't think you are supposed to talk to me though judging off of your uncle and Dwalin's looks."
"They'll come around." Fili reassured you with a gentle smile. "It just takes time."
You nodded as Bilbo gave you another reassuring smile. "I dunno, I feel like it could take years."
"Don't worry. Anyways, if we are going to be around you, we might as well get to know you." Kili interjected, which caused many of the dwarves to murmur in agreement except for Dwalin and Thorin of course.
"What do you want to know?" You asked.
"What do you think of us?" Bombur asked.
You gave a soft smile before answering. "I think you are some of the most loyal people I've ever met. Your loyalty and kinship with one another is very admirable and can sometimes hard to find these days." You remarks left the dwarves flabbergasted, for it wasn't what they expected whatsoever.
"What did you do before you came here?" Bofur asked.
"I knit different clothing items, and sell them to people, along with other things."
"Can you sing?" Ori asked shyly, which caused you to chuckle.
"I can-" You began happily, but before you could continue, the dwarves began to chant that you sing something. With that said, you began to sing one of your favorites from childhood.
When the cold wind is a'calling
And the sky is clear and bright
Misty mountains sing and beckon
Lead me out into the light
I will ride, I will fly
Chase the wind and touch the sky
I will fly
Chase the wind and touch the sky
Where dark woods hide secrets
And mountains are fierce and bold
Deep waters hold reflections
Of times lost long ago
I will hear their every story
Take hold of my own dream
Be as strong as the seas are stormy
And proud as an eagle's scream
I will ride, I will fly
Chase the wind and touch the sky
I will fly
Chase the wind and touch the sky
And touch the sky
Chase the wind
Chase the wind
Touch the sky
As you concluded your song, many of the dwarves applauded your talent, causing your cheeks to turn a rosy pink. Without knowing, the evening passed, and it was soon dark. It was Dwalin and Balin's turn to keep watch, so you quickly prepared your bedroll for sleep while saying goodnight to everyone. When you woke up, the sun was barely up over the hill, and Balin had shook you awake.
"Time to go." He spoke before getting his own things together. You quickly folded your bedroll, and mounted your horse once more. This time rain poured down from the sky and continued to pour until the evening. The company was overjoyed at the fact that they could finally be dry. However, you were freezing, and trying not to shiver. Suddenly, you felt a pair of hands on your shoulders as they laid a small cloak on you.
"Kili you didn't have to." You said while chattering. "I don't want you to get in trouble."
"I wanted to." He said with a smile. "Besides you need it more than I do."
You nodded gratefully at his gesture, and found yourself warming up by the fire while witnessing the quarrel between Thorin and Gandalf.
"Oi! Y/N! Be a good lass and give these to the twins?" Bombur asked kindly.
You smiled and went to find Kili and Fil, weapons strapped to your side and Kili's cloak still on. Luckily you found Fili, Kili, and Bilbo together conversing.
"What's going on?" You asked "Having a party without me?"
"We're in trouble." Fili spoke "We lost three of the horses."
Your heart stopped, remembering the scene from the movie. Then, you remembered Faye's words of the future.
"I'll go and get it sorted." You volunteered. "It can't be that hard."
"No!" All three boys yelled.
"It's too dangerous." Bilbo spoke
"There's danger everywhere. " Now go get Thorin, and let him know, if I'm not back within half an hour, get help."
"Hoot twice like a barn owl, and once like a brown owl." Fili said
"Or I could just yell help." You said sarcastically.
You decide to leave the boys, and creep towards the campfire. As you approached, it was quiet for a moment, and you swore they could hear your breathing. Finally, they continued their conversation.
"Oi! There's someone there!"
"Perhaps we can cook them?"
You drew an arrow from your sac and took an unnecessary string off your pants, and tied a branch around it. Then, you shot the arrow into the fire, causing the fire to rise over the cauldron. Unfortunately, the branch you were on began to tip and soon you were on the floor in front of the trolls.
"Hehe....oops?" You laughed nervously, seeing the trolls grins and their eyes on you.
"Let's cook her shall we?" Tom the troll said with a evil grin. A shiver ran down your spine as you weaved in an out of their legs. With a yelp, you were lifted into the air.
"Got her!!"
"What you suppose we do with her?"
"We cook her; then we marinate her."
Suddenly, a movement came from the bush as Kili emerged.
(Ok quick authors note: fun fact this is kind of when I first began to fall in love with fictional characters. Ya could say he was the first, and then Thorin came around 😂)
"DROP HER!" He yelled while holding a sword. From what you could see, his eyes were filled with rage, and he gripped his sword tightly.
"You what?" A troll asked again tauntingly.
"I said drop her!" Kili said again with anger.
You let out a yelp as your body flailed in the air and into the arms of Kili. When you gathered your belongings, the other dwarves had come from hiding and began to fight unanimously.
"Shall we join them?" Kili said with a grin.
"I suppose we shall." You replies with a grin.
Together, you and Kili fought side by side. It was effortless, the way your swords in unity to eliminate the enemy at hand. At one point, a troll swung his weapon at you so Kili grabbed your hand and twirled your body into his. The two of you forgot to notice that the other dwarves were captured and they were cheering you on as you fought the two trolls left.
"Come on lad! take the troll out!" Dwalin praised Kili.
"Go Y/N!" Ori shouted, with a few others.
During this fight, you and Kili had gotten separated, and you each fought a troll. You took a dagger from the belt on your waist and finished them off. You noticed the other dwarves were yelling, but they were yelling out of panic. Quickly, you grabbed your dagger and jumped onto the last troll and stabbed it through its skull which caused it to immediately die.
A sigh of relief escaped Kili's lips and you dismounted from the troll to help the others.
"Thank you," Nori smiled at the two of you. "You fought well together."
"Aye, you did good lass." Bofur remarked. "If it weren't for you, we would have been dead."
Thorin continued to brood, and gathered his belongings. You however, had enough of his attitude.
"What's your problem!" You asked, causing Thorin to stop. "Why do you have such an issue with me?"
"Your an elf, and your kind-"
"Betrayed you I know. That was Thranduil's people. Thorin, I don't even know what family I'm from! I'm adopted, and have no idea who my parents could be. So if you could cut me a little bit of slack and not judge a book by its cover that would be nice."You gritted your teeth out of annoyance.
There was a dumbfounding silence that was etched between the dwarves, the hobbit, and you as they watched you gather your things.
"Where are you going?" Fili asked
"To the troll cave. There should be one nearby." You barked with annoyance.
The dwarves quickly followed suit, and followed you behind. A little while later, there was indeed a troll cave. The dwarves gasped with excitement as they saw the glittering gold scattered throughout the cave. You noticed a shiny gold locket caught your eye, and you picked it up, feeling the deep magic with it. Soon, you were not standing in the troll cave. You were standing within a lush green forest.
There stood a man with dark brown hair and bright green eyes standing next to a woman that had similar features to Faye.
"Adrian. Everything will be fine." Faye reassures him. "Your wife will carry the child and give birth."
"I know there can be complications."
"You forget that I am your child's guardian. Besides, the baby is half elf, half witch. The baby is strong."
The scene changed to a woman giving birth that had similar features to yours. Soon, a baby girl was born and the woman smiled with happiness.
"Y/N.... that will be her name." She whispered softly.
"It's time Annalise," Faye reminded the young woman. "The orcs know of her power. Especially Azog. If he gets her, he will kill her. We all know he needs several items to.....complete his quest..
You let out a gasp and let go of the locket. As it hit the floor, it went from a shimmering gold to a dull gray.
"Y/N?" Kili asked, "you alright?"
"Yeah I'm fine... it's just the locket reminded me of something."
"Your parents?" He asked excitedly. "Maybe they are around here somewhere, and you could reunite with them!"
"I don't think so..."You said wistfully.
Thorin signaled for the group to exit the cave, and they saw the one and only, Rhadagast.
That is all for this chapter! I hope you enjoyed it, I am changing up the basic story line a bit so it can kinda fit the storyline, so yes I am aware that some details from the actual story isn't there. I hope you have a lovely day!
