Chapter 4 (He rejected you?)
I thought I would hate it, but it was so beautiful.
The room, the music, the people, the dance, it was all beautiful. It was like we're in a winter wonderland. Snow was falling from the sky, but it didn't land on us. It disappeared mid-air.
I felt Connor nudging me in my side. I looked at him and saw that he had a smirk on his face.
"And you didn't want to come."
I playfully rolled my eyes at him before answering.
"I admit it's breath taking, but who's said it will be fun."
We walked further in to the room and I saw that people were watching me. I hear them whisper and saw them pointing at me.
"You're going to be okay." I hear Connor whisper when he saw that I was uneased.
"Yeah I don't see people looking at you."
I hear him chuckle and I looked at him.
"I'm walking next to you, so their also looking at me."
Okay he got a point.
I saw my grandmother and saw her making her way towards me. Great..
"Hazel you look beautiful."
I thanked her not being sure what to say. She didn't look to bad herself. She looked like a real queen. A smile came to her face when she saw Libby and Connor.
"You two look so grown up. It seems like it was only yesterday when you two were little."
They both smiled and thanked my grandmother.
"Lina I'm happy you are here. Is Alaric and Logan here too?"
My heart skipped a beat when I heard my grandmother say his name. I really don't want to face him tonight. It's almost a year ago that I last saw him. I don't even know if he's still looks the same.
"Yeah there here."
She look behind me and a smile came to her face.
"Actually their making their way towards us right now."
I think I stop breathing when she said that.
I didn't dare to turn around and look at him. My eyes when to Connor and Libby trying to asked for help. Their eyes when from behind me to me and I had a feeling that they had no idea what to do.
"Thank you for inviting us Trisha."
My grandmother chuckle at Alaric before speaking up.
"You're always welcome here Alaric."
I bite my lip knowing I have to turn around to face them. Slowly I turn around and let out a breath of relief when I only saw Alaric.
"You look absolutely beautiful Hazel and a happy birthday."
I wanted to say thank you when someone speak up behind me.
"She's always beautiful."
I turn around and found Logan standing behind me. He was wearing a suit and he looked really good in it. His hair was like always messy, but that seem the fit him really well. Our eyes met for a sec before I turn around to face Alaric.
"Thank you Alaric."
He smiled softly at me nodding his head.
"I hate to do this, but I have to take my granddaughter for a sec."
My grandma took my hand and began to lead me away from the group. When I walked away I could feel Logan's eyes in the back of my head. Slightly I turn around and found him staring at me with a blank expression on his face.
Quickly I turn back around following my grandma through the talking people.
"Grandma where are you taking me?"
She patted my hand pulling me to her side.
"You have to meet the people who want to un throne me. You have to show them who you are."
Wait what?
"They're here? You invited them?"
The smile that she had on her face never left, while I'm looking al nervous and stuff.
"Of course. We need to show them that they can't mess with us."
I'm not sure about that. Her hand tighten around mine when we came closer to the people I assume wants my grandma gone.
There was a lady dressed in a beautiful green dress and with red hair. She had a look on her face that made me extremely nervous. The man with black hair beside her wasn't better. A angry look was placed on his face and when he saw my grandma and I it didn't change.
I already hate this.
My eyes landed on a boy standing next to them. Just like his parents he didn't look al to friendly.
"Hello Genevieve, Paul and of course the handsome Lucas."
The lady and the man didn't change from expression, but the boy smiled at me and my grandma.
" Trisha" The lady said.
I was surprise that she said my grandmother first name instead of queen. Her eyes landed on me and a smirk came to her face.
"I assume that this is your granddaughter."
I didn't know what to say.
It was like I was this little girl again who doesn't know how to talk with adult people and wants to hide behind my grandma.
"Yes, this is Hazel." I gave them a smile, but they just gave me a dirty look.
"So you just turned eighteen." The man said ignoring my grandma.
"Yes, sir."
He looked at his wife before looking back at me.
"You're all grown up, so I guess you found your soulmate already?" The lady said.
Uhm I don't think this is going a way I want it to go.
"Uhm in a way." I answer not sure how to explain things.
"So he rejected you?" The lady asked inpatient.
I open my mouth to say something when my grandma spoke up.
"Genevieve why are you asked about her love life?"
A smile came to her face before she put her hands on Lucas shoulders. "Well because she's going to be the queen of Terraite and if her soulmate have rejected her she can marry Lucas and then he can be the king."
My eyes widen in surprise when she said that. She can't be serious about this right?
"Why would I let that happen? I'm not going to let my granddaughter marry you son." My grandma her voice was sternly and cold.
This time Paul spoke. "Well, if she isn't be able to be the queen because of her power then she can marry someone with that power. That way we don't have to push your family from the throne."
I look at my grandma hoping she wouldn't say yes to Paul.
"Maybe this way things will change around here, for the better of course." Genevieve spoke with a laugh at the end.
Where they saying that my grandma didn't do a good job at being queen? I really hate them.
"Well I'm sorry, but Hazel will do just fine and maybe things will change around here, maybe there will be less people here."
Go grandma!
A small smile came to my face when I saw their faces.
"Well then, I see where this is going." Paul said with clinched teeth.
"Now if this is finish Hazel needs to go back to a party." My grandmother guide me away from them with an hand on my lower back.
When we were a little bit further I spoke up making sure we were far away from them.
"That was awesome!"
My grandma chuckle at my reaction.
"Well it had to be done. They think their better then everyone, but they aren't. The may be rich, but that's it."
She's right.
I really don't like them.
"You still need to meet someone."
I frown my brows looking at her.
"I thought you meant them."
She shook her head no.
"No It's someone else, someone who can help us."
And I'm more confuse. We walked further through the crowed. Some people smiled at us, some said hello. They all called me princess, which was weird for me. All I could do was smile and nod, because honestly I had no idea what to say.
I was pulled out my thought when I heard my grandmother speak.
"Hazel this is Lisa, her husband Mike and their son Leo."
Before me stood a beautiful woman dressed in yellow dress with a friendly smile on her face. She reminded me of someone, but I don't know who. Her husband had a soft smile who was totally opposed from Paul.
Then there was the boy Leo.
The same age as me, but he was taller than me, just like Logan.
"It's nice meeting you."
To my surprise the woman pulled me in a hug.
"You have no idea how long we have waited for this day." She said almost in tears.
Not knowing what to do I awkwardly hugged her back.
"Lisa the girl don't know who we are." The man spoke.
She pulled away and I could see tears in her eyes.
"I know, but I had to do that."
My grandmother place her hand on my back giving me a small smile.
"Hazel this is you aunt. She's your dad's sister."
Authors note: Ok so I decided that I'm just gonna keep putting one picture at the top. I just didn't like the new way, so I'm not changing any thing ;)
