The girl was Naina. She was coming back from the market but the rain started...and not getting any auto or bus... she started walking.
And then the accident happened.

Naina, who was already a little shaken up with the almost accident, got shocked seeing Sameer in drunken state.
He came a little more closer to her and suddenly hugs her.

Naina gasped in surprise and said,
"Sameer? Tum... woh bhi aise. Aur yeh-"

Just then, the driver asked,
"Aap sahab ko jaanti hai, madam?"

Naina, who was trying to pull herself away from Sameer, answered,
"Ji woh college mein sath mein padhte hai. Yeh theek toh hai... Kya hua? Sameer ne sharab kyu pee hai?"

Driver shrugged and said,
"Pata nahi madam ji... Sahab ke dost hai unhone kaha ki sahab ko ghar tak chor de. Bss."

Unable to detach herself... she asked the driver,
"Bhaiya... aap Sameer ko le jaaiye."

The driver nodded and was coming forward to take Sameer but he hides himself behind Naina and said in a childish tone,
"Nahi... mujhe nahi jaana."

The driver looked at Naina with helpless look. She blinked her eyes and then looked at Sameer.
"Sameer.. Please go. Ghar jaao."

Her affectionate and lovely voice made him smile a little. Naina too smiled lovingly...for the first time seeing his cute smile... from so close.

Suddenly, Sameer hugged her and said, "Mujhe nahi jaana... mujhe darr lagta hai."

Naina, whose heart was beating rapidly with the closeness, got confused and asked,
"Darr?"

Sameer nodded with a sad pout, still hugging her.
Forgetting about anything else, she asked worriedly,
"Kaisa darr, Sameer?"

Naina waited for his answer but he didn't reply.
"Sameer?"

She checked him but he had lost his conscious and was totally falling on her. Supporting him, she looked at the driver and said,
"Bhaiya lagta hai, Sameer behosh hogaya hai. Aap meri help kijiye Sameer ko car mein le chaliye."

Driver nodded and both made Sameer sat in the car. But he was still holding Naina's hand and kept murmuring,
"Mujhe nahi jaana...nahi jaana."

Naina saw the frown on his face... her heartbreak seeing him lost and sad. Taking a deep breath, she sat inside the car with him and said to the driver,
"Bhaiya... chaliye."

The driver looked at Naina and said, "Madam ji... hum Sahab ko chor denge."

Pursing her lips, Naina replied,
"Aap toh chor denge... Par main Sameer ko nahi chorna chahti... uske sath rahungi."

Driver nodded and sat inside the car. They head towards Sameer home.

Sameer had a small smile on his lips, feeling someone beside her.... feeling the warmth and love of that person. He wasn't in the state to knew, who was that person, but he was happy that someone was with him.

Naina saw his cute smile... her lips curled up too. He had kept his head on her shoulder and was sleeping.
Suddenly, she remembered his harsh words and with a sigh, she thought,
"Tune toh decide kiya tha na ki Sameer se durr rahegi? Ab kya hua?

Looking at Sameer, she argued to herself,
" Par Sameer ko akela kaise chor sakti thi...woh... uski aisi halat."

Sameer snuggled more into her. She smiled sadly and thought,
"Dil se pyaar kiya hai, Naina... Dil se nibhayenge. Hamesha sirf Sameer ko chahenge."

She too closes her eyes and with a smile keeps her head on his head.

After reaching at the bunglow, driver turned and saw the couple sleeping peaceful. He smiled and then called Naina,
"Madam ji... Madam ji."

Naina slowly opens her eyes and looked around.

Driver again said, "Madam ji... hum pahuch gaye."

She nodded and said, "Bhaiya... zara thodi help kijiye... Sameer ko andar tak le jaane mein."

He nodded and both helped Sameer to take him inside the house.
They took him in his room and made him lie down at the bed.

Driver then said to Naina, "Madam ji, aapko aapke ghar tak chor doon."

Naina pursed her lips and said hesitantly,
"Nahi bhaiya... main yahin rukungi. Aap jaaiye."

She then walked towards Sameer, slowly brushed his hair.
The driver looked at Naina for a moment and said,
"Aaj pehli baar...Bade sahab ke jaane ke baad  kisi ki aankhon mein Sameer sahab ke liye parwah dikhi. Bhagwan  aapko khush rakhe."

Naina smiled...slightly blushing. The driver went away. She turned her attention towards Sameer and said,
"Khush toh hona hi hai mujhe... apne Sameer ke pass jo hoon."

She slowly caressed his face and smiled lovingly.
Sitting down on the floor, holding his hand... she kept her head on the bed and closes her eyes... soon sleep engulfed him.

It was around midnight... when Naina heard sniffling sound. She immediately woke up and saw Sameer, who was crying in his sleep.
He was murmuring,
"Nanu mat jao... Nanu please wapis aa jao."

Naina caressed his cheek softly and said,
"Sameer... Sameer. Utho Sameer."

Feeling the warmth of someone... Sameer felt relaxed.
Naina sits beside him and wipes his tears. She kissed his forehead and said,
"Please mat roo, Sameer.... Main tumhe aise nahi dekh sakti."

Sameer snuggled closer to her and sighed in relief... finally looked at peace.
Feeling him so close to her... Naina heart beats rapidly... she felt happy and helpless at the same time.
She joined her forehead with him and said,
"Kyu aisa kar rahe ho? Kabhi kuch aisa karte ho... aisa kehte ho jisse main hurt ho jaati hoon...aapne aap par guss aata hai ki kyu main tumse pyaar karti hoon? Wahin dusri taraf tum mere itne kareeb aa jaate ho ki tumse durr jaane ka mann nahi karta... mera pyaar kam hone ki jagah badhta jaata hai."

She caressed his face again and said,
"Durr tumse jaa nahi paungi...pass tum aane nahi doge. Ab agar tumhare dil mein apni jagah  zabardasti hi banani padegi... toh woh bhi karungi. Apne pyaar ko aur chupa kar nahi rakhungi. Kal tumhari baaton se hurt toh bohat hui par phir dil mein ek khayal aaya... main aise hi apne pyaar ko jaane nahi de sakti... ek baar... ek baar toh uska bhi janne ka haq hai ki main kya feel karti hai? Ab toh aar yaa paar Sameer...ya toh mujhe tum aur tumhara pyaar mil jaayega ya toh phir tumhari nafrat milegi. Par afsos toh nahi hoga ki maine kabhi tumhe apni feelings ke baarein mein bataya nahi. Isliye iss baar nahi baghungi... na hi chhup-chhup kar dekhungi...tum mere liye kya ho... Iss baat ka ehsaas tumhe dila kar rahungi."

Next morning, Sameer woke up with a bad headache. Groaning in pain, he picked the mobile phone from his side table without opening his eyes.

Sighing, he sat straight. He rubbed his eyes and checks the time. He got shocked,
"Kya? 11 baj gaye!!"

Suddenly, he closes his eyes and winced in pain.
"Oh god! Yeh sarr dard!"

Closing his eyes, he slightly rubbed his head.
Just then, he heard,
"Bohat dard ho raha hai kya Sameer?"

Sameer immediately looked up and saw Naina standing in front of him. He widened his eyes in shock but suddenly closes them and said,
"Lagta raat ka nasha abhi tak hai... sapne mein bhi Naina aur aankh khulte bhi Naina. Hosh mein aa Sameer."

Naina chuckled and answered,
"Main hi hoon, Sameer. Sapna nahi hai."

Sameer slowly opens his eyes and looked st her.
She came closer with a tray in her hand, which he noticed now, and sat in front of him.

"Sar dard ho raha hai... yeh lo nimbu paani. Aur phir bhi theek na ho toh sar dard ki dawa bhi hai. Le le na. Okay."
She said with an affectionate smile. He kept staring at her with confused expression, which Naina found very cute. He looked like a lost child.

Naina's heart was beating fast. She was hiding her nervousness. She was accepting a  scolding... shouting... anger from his side but he was just staring at her.
She thought,
"Naina... apna pyaar jatane mein kya ghabrahat? Tu toh hamesha se Sameer ke pass rehna chahti thi... aur ab tu wahi karegi jo tera dil kahega."

Caressing Sameer face, Naina said,
"Ab tum rest karo... college mein jo bhi kam hua hai woh shaam ko bata dungi. Okay. Aur haa, aaj sham ko wo assignment bhi toh banana hai... Usko kaise bhul sakte hai."

Sameer was unable to understand what was happening? How come Naina was at his house? Why was she here? Why was she behaving like this? She should be angry or maybe avoiding him... but what was she doing?

Naina smiled and again said,
"Ab aise hi dekhte rahoge... jaanti hoon bohat sawal hai... aur sab ka jawab main sham ko dungi. Tab tak rest karo aur maine tumhare mobile mein apna number save kar diya hai kuch bhi baat ho toh call kar lena."

She kept talking to him, like it was an everyday routine. Sameer was mesmerized with her care for him...he don't know what to say? His heart was filled with so much happiness. Everyday he opened his eyes to an empty house... this emptiness was a torture to him but seeing her with him...in his room... in his house. He felt happy... he felt the feeling of being loved.

Naina saw his eyes filled with tears. She didn't stop herself and kissed his forehead.
Sameer closes his eyes for a moment...he felt heavenly.

"Promise karo Sameer... aaj ke baad kabhi sharab nahi piyoge. Tumhe uss halat mein dekhkar mujhe bohat takleef hui. Promise karo... nahi piyoge."
She said cutely and forward her hand.

Sameer just blinked his eyes and without thinking anything else he puts his hand on hers.
She smiled widely and said,
"Accha ab main chalti hoon... sham ko aaungi. Tab tak apna khayal rakhna."

Naina was going when she realised Sameer has not left her hand... he was holding her tightly.
She looked at him and before she could ask... he said,
"Tum... tum wapis aaogi na?"

Naina never saw Sameer... this vulnerable. She came closer and again kissed his forehead.

Sameer smiled and looked into her eyes...both shared an intense eye lock.

After Naina left, Sameer again lies down with a wide grin on his face. He don't know what was happening? Why it was happening? How it happened?
But one thing was sure...after so many years he felt happy. For the first time in three years... he felt the feeling of being at home.
He was not going to be alone... someone was there for him.

He slowly touches his forehead and chuckled,
"Chashmish... sirf padhaku nahi... romantic bhi hai."

Sighing, he closes his eyes but Naina's smiling face flashed in front of him. He kept his eyes closed and said,
"Please jaldi wapis aa jaao, Naina. Mere harr sawal ka jawab chahiye mujhe... nahi toh main pagal ho jaaunga."

He smiled widely and again slept.
