Naina didn't attended the college the next day. A student told him she got partnered with Sameer for the new assignment.
But she didn't want to face him.

However, in the classroom, Sameer kept glancing at her seat.
"Naina... aaj college nahi aayi. Usne kabhi college miss nahi kiya... kya meri kal ki baat ko lekar woh... Nahi, nahi... Main hi zyada soch rahi hoon... infact, main soch hi kyu raha hoon... Huh. I don't care."

Just then, he heard,
"Aaj woh chashmish behenji nahi dikh rahi."

Sameer turned and saw Kartik was looking for Naina too.
Sunaina scrunched her nose in disgust,
"Kyu? Usko kyu dhund rahe ho?"

"Kuch nahi... bss sabak sikhana hai."
Kartik answered angrily.

Before anyone could say something, Sameer asked,
"Kyu? Kya hua? Naina ko sabak...aisa kya hua?"

Gritting his teeth, Kartik answered, "Uss behenji ki itni himmat ki meri complain lekar woh mere hi dad ke pass gayi. Sirf meri hi complain nahi Sunain ke baarein mein bhi kaha."

"What! Aaj toh uss behenji ko aache se sabak sikhaungi... bohat over smart ban rahi haina. Aane do."
Sunaina said angrily.

Sameer felt uneasy with their talk... he argued, "But tujhe tere dad ne punish nahi kiya na... toh phir."

Sighing, Kartik nodded and said, "Haa nahi kiya but mujhe daanta toh hai... keh rahe the ki kuch bhi karna hai kar... par mere pass koi complain lekar naa aaye."

"But still-"

Sameer again tried to argue... he tried to stop them. But just then Sunaina said,
"Kartik is right... usko sabak toh sikhana hi hoga. How dare she... hamari complaint kari kaise usne? Let her come."

Except Kartik and Sunaina... everyone were against this idea. Munna and Pandit too tried to made them understand that they had done wrong... and too everyone surprise... Sameer supported them. He too argued saying... we shouldn't do anything.

But Kartik and Sunaina didn't paid any heed to their advice.

Everyone gives up... except Sameer, who felt helpless. He don't know why but he felt worried... he was worried for Naina.
For the whole lecture, he kept glancing at the entrance of the classroom... thinking of ways that he could stop Kartik and Sunaina.
But Naina didn't come.

It was lunch time... Sameer was feeling restless and frustrated.
"Aise koi behave karta hai... college miss karne ki kya zarurat thi? Par aacha hi hai... nahi toh Kartik aur Sunaina...but still.
Ughhh main aisa behave kyu kar raha hoon?"

"Sameer... Sameer"
Sunaina was calling him but he was lost in his thoughts.

Everyone noticed and got a little worried.
Munna slightly shook him and asked,
"Bhai tu theek hai?"

Sameer abruptly said, "huh... Ha.. Ha. I'm fine. Kya hua Batao?"

Preeti answered, "Nothing but Sunaina kab se bula rahi hai... aur tum respond hi nahi kar rahe the."

Turning towards Sunaina, Sameer passed a sheepish smile and said, "Sorry Sunaina... Bolo kya keh rahi thi?"

Sunaina came a little closer and asked, "Are you fine, Sameer? Subah se sabse alag hi reh rahe ho... Kya hua?"

With an awkward chuckle, he answered, "Kuch bhi toh nahi."

Rolling her eyes, Sunaina then asked,
"Anyways... aaj hum club jaane ka soch rahe hai... Tum aaoge."

"Haa okay...chalte hai."
Sameer said... finding it the best way to divert his mind... from Naina.

At night...in the club. Sameer and his friends all were enjoying... dancing and chilling.

Sunaina and Kartik were the only who were drinking... others were having fruit cocktail.
Sameer felt relaxed... finally able to stop thinking about Naina.

Just then a romantic song got played, every couple started dancing on the tune. Sameer's eyes fell on Sunaina and Kartik, who were dancing too closely.
A sudden wave of sadness sweeped over him. But he was surprised... he wasn't sad to see them together... he was sad to be feel all alone.

Sunaina was happy with Kartik... and now even Sameer thought that maybe it was just a crush, he had before, and now he was over it.
But why was he feeling sad... why was he feeling lonely?

He just wanted to stop feeling all this... But how?

Sameer, suddenly remembers the day, it all started. The day... he fiest time saw concern for him in her eyes... in Naina's eyes. For the first time... someone touch soothed his pain. For the first time... he felt light and at peace.
But why only Naina... why with her? Why because of her?

"Yeh sab uss din se ho raha hai... jab se Naina mere kareeb aayi. Usne mujhe chua...uski aankho mein woh parwah dekhi...tab se... uss din se yeh ek ehsaas. I hate this... I hate to feel like this. Mujhe pehle jaisa hona hai."
He said to himself.

Suddenly, he heard the song lyrics,
🎵"Waise to mann mera pehli bhi raato mein
Aksar hi chahat ke haan, sapne saujaunta tha
Pehle bhi dhadkan yeh dhun koyi gaati thi
Par abb jo hota hai woh pehle na hota tha"🎵

Sameer couldn't help but relate his situation to these lines. He, then, with a frustrated expression he ordered a drink for himself too.
He kept on ordering it... till he got fully drunk. Munna and Pandit came to him and got shocked to see him drinking.

Snatching the drink, Munna said angrily,
"Kya kar raha hai, Sameer? Pagal hai kya? Cigarette ke baad ab yeh... kya hogaya hai tujhe?"

Trying to get his drink back, Sameer said in a slurred voice, "Kuch nahi... Kuch nahi hua hai mujhe. I'm still Sameer. Main theek hoon... Main normal hoon."

Pandit and Munna stared at each other...confused with his answer. They felt sad to their friend in this state.

Keeping a hand on Sameer's shoulder, Munna said, "Sameer... koi baat pareshan kar rahi hai toh bata bhai. Please... aise akele mat seh sab kuch. Tere dost hai...tere sath."

Sameer shrugged off Munna's hand and said, "Nahi... Nahi. Mujhe kisi ki zarurat nahi... jiski thi woh chale gaye mujhe chorkar... Leave me."

Soon, Swati and Preeti joined them. They saw Sameer drinking and asked the boys, if Sameer was fine.

Pandit sighed and said, "Pata nahi, guys. Kya hua hai? Abhi toh kuch kehne ki halat mein nahi hai."

"Hmm, you're right. Hum isko ghar chor dete hai."
Swati said and everyone agreed but Sameer shook his head,"Nahi... main khud chala jaaunga."

"But Sameer-"

Munna tried to argue but Sameer angrily replied,
"Kaha na... Chala jaaunga. Meri car aur driver bahar hai... I can manage... I don't need anyone."

He, then, started walking away... he stumbled but everytime held himself.
Munna and Pandit walked him to his car... they kept on saying... to let them come with him but Sameer kept on denying them.

After, he got in his car. Munna ordered the driver,
"Bhaiya... Sameer ko unke ghar tak chorkar aana.. Bunglow ke bahar se mat chale jaana."

The driver nodded and went away.
Both the boys were sad that there friend was suffering from pain... but wasn't sharing with them. They always knew that he was grieving his Nanu's death but they thought over the time he would be fine.
But, look like, after 3years...he was still grieving.

"Hamara bhai aaj bhi akela mehsus karta hai apne aapko."
Pandit said with unshed tears.

Munna too got emotional and said, "Pandit... dost hone ke naate hum sab kar rahe hai... but shayad woh aaj bhi apne aap ko akela samjhta hai."

Pandit, with a sigh, prayed, "I hope Sameer pehle jaisa ho jaaye yaar. Yeh bully, arrogant type Sameer pehle wala ho jaaye ... sab ki care karne wala, khush rehne wala Sameer ban jaaye."

With a sad smile, Munna said, "Zarur hoga Pandit... Bhagwan ne agar Nanu ko durr kiya hai toh Nanu se zayad pyaar karne wale ko Sameer ki life mein zarur kisi ko bheja hoga. Wahin insaan mere dost ki woh smile...wapis laayega."

It started raining heavily... the driver was having a difficult time to drive.
Suddenly, someone came in front of the car and driver immediately puts breaks.

He hurriedly goes out with the umbrella and checked if that person was fine.
That person was a girl in her 20's... she stood up... shrugging off the mud on her clothes.

The driver came to him and asked worriedly,
"Madam ji, aap theek ho? Sorry woh baarish teez ho rahi hai isliye hogaya."

The girl answered and picked her umbrella,
"Koi baat nahi bhaiya main theek hoon."

"Par main theek nahi hoon."
Both turned and saw Sameer standing there getting drenched.
Without thinking anything else, the girl went to him...and shared her umbrella.

Sameer looked at the girl and his lips curled into a goofy smile. He slowly whispered, "Naina."
