Chapter 13
Tanna Carson
"If you want to rather go home after the concert Tan, I'm m-"
"Luke, I'm staying yeah?" A playful smile spreads across my face as I roll my eyes at him.
"But Tan, the meet and greet goes for an hour after the concert, I don't want you sitting here alone."
"Wouldn't I be alone anyway if I went home after the concert?"
"Yes, but-"
"Exactly and besides, like you said, it's only an hour, I'll go through the concert film and keep myself occupied."
"Are you-"
"Gosh Patterson, what's gotten into you?" I tease, watching him roll his eyes in response as he winds his arms around my back.
"I wouldn't say anything. Nothing seems to have gotten into you either, but I'll be more than happy to change that later." He puts pressure on my back, pulling my body right against him as he smirks down at me.
"Luke!" I tuck my head against his chest as he chuckles deeply, each vibration running through my body. "You're insatiable."
"Sorry..." He pulls back and gently hooks his finger underneath my chin to tilt my gaze up towards him. "I just cannot seem to get enough of you."
Despite the way I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks, I tried to play it off as I see Alex and Reggie walk into the room.
"Oh look, it's Alex and Reggie." I scrunch my nose up at Luke playfully, his eyebrows raising in amusement as he keeps his gaze on me. "Your band mates. You know, the ones that you're performing with in a few minutes."
He stays silent, not moving his amused gaze away from my figure.
I cannot deny that the way he was looking down at me, with his signature smirk and amusement etched across his face was making my heart rate increase.
"Do you know what's going on?" Reggie's voice perks up from the silence, clearly taking note of the way Luke and I are just watching each other silently.
"No, but it's Luke and Tanna, so I honestly don't even question it at this point." I can't help but laugh at Alex's response, moving away from Luke, only for him to pull me right back against his chest.
"You're my good luck charm, don't leave me."
"All yours love. You know that." I smile, cupping his face and pulling him down slightly until our lips meet.
The two of us break apart at the sound of knocking on the door where one of the crew members had come to call the boys to go backstage.
"Good luck boys, I'll be in the audience as usual."
"See you Roomie."
"Stay safe Tan."
I grab my camera, hooking it around my neck as I flash the boys a smile before walking out their dressing room and towards the main body of the arena.
At this point, I had been to so many of Sunset Curve's concerts, hearing their sets, including their new and old songs, yet it never gets old.
I don't know how they do it, but those three have such a stage presence and this indescribable chemistry that makes every single concert just as amazing as the previous.
I guess the only real difference today is that this is the boys first big concert signed to Columbia Records.
The arena is absolutely packed, with every seat occupied. It's very clear that the boys following was growing, and exponentially at that.
I was so proud of them.
"Thank you to everyone who came out to see us tonight, this is only the beginning." I had no doubt that every single person in that arena could see the passion in Luke's eyes as he spoke.
"Follow us on Instagram to keep up with all our latest moves."
"Oh and don't forget..." Reggie steps up to the mic, running his hand through his hair as he finished off the concert. "Tell your friends."

As I walk backstage, I already see the long line of fans accumulating, preparing for their meet and greet with the boys.
A smile breaks out onto Luke's lips as his eyes land on me walking towards him and in that moment, I couldn't resist teasing him.
"Hi, I'm Tanna, it's so nice to meet you."
"Tan, oh my god."
"I'm a huge fan, like a really big fan. Do you think you could sign something for me?"
"Shut up." I burst out laughing, as he pulls me aside and away from the crowd of people before he starts peppering my face with kisses. "You just couldn't resist, could you?"
"You know I had to. Now go Patterson, your fans are waiting." I smile, pecking his lips gently before smiling up at him. "I'll be in the dressing room when you're done."
I stand there for a moment, watching him turn around and walk back into the crowd of people backstage before sitting down at the table.
I sigh happily, unhooking the camera from my neck and start looking at some of the pictures as I make my way down the hallway towards their dressing room.
"Sorry. You're not allowed in here."
The unfamiliar voice makes me snap my head up, catching the gaze of a beautiful woman who looked like she was in her early twenties, maybe a few years older.
She had long black hair, slicked back into a low pony which matched perfectly with her formal blazer and tight black dress pants.
"Sorry, I have a pass to be backstage."
"Backstage. No fans allowed in the boy's dressing room."
"Oh, I'm not a fan. I mean that I'm actually here with the boys." I dig my fingernails into the palm of my free hand as the woman in front of me drags her eyes down my body before looking back up at me blankly.
"I'm Sharon, Sunset Curve's Publicist. Who are you?"
"I guess I should have started with that." I laugh playfully, extending my hand out in front of me for her to shake. "I'm Tanna Carson."
"Oh." She looks at my outstretched hand, completely ignoring it before meeting my gaze once again, making me feel more uneasy than before.
"Is something wrong?"
"You're the girl that's dating Luke. I thought you'd be more... you know."
"I don't understand?" My eyebrows furrow inwards in confusion, my nails digging deeper into my skin as I drop my outstretched hand, no doubt about to leave marks that wouldn't go away any time soon.
"I thought you'd be prettier, skinner even considering you're the one dating him with what he looks like and all. Definitely doesn't help his image..."
It feels like that small feeling that's been hiding away for weeks inside me has suddenly been unleashed and magnified.
I flash the lady a fake smile, not wanting to give her the satisfaction of showing her that she had actually managed to get to me and had actually upset me.
"It was nice meeting you." With that I walk straight into the dressing room closing the door behind me and I place my camera down onto the table before making my way into the bathroom.
I place my hands on the sink, gripping onto it as I slowly lift my head until my eyes find themselves in the reflection.
The tears trailed down my cheeks, yet I couldn't help it, I couldn't stop them from falling, almost as if each tear was mocking me for my vulnerability.
I suddenly couldn't take it anymore, I sat down on the floor of the bathroom and gave up, allowing the tears to fall freely down my face.
Occupied with my own thoughts and emotions, I didn't hear the dressing room door opening until I hear someone stuttering from besides me, making me look up to see Steve, one of the crew members standing there.
"Tanna, I-I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to-" he backs away slowly as he speaks, genuine concern written across his face. "I'm going to call someone, I'll be back."
"Wait Steve, it's-" I quickly stood up off the floor, trying to stop him from leaving but before I could even try, he was already out the door.
The boys hired their own crew a while before they signed with Columbia Records, one of the members being Steve and before signing they agreed they would be able to keep the same crew.
Although technically it doesn't matter to me which crew the boys have, but it was nice having some sort of familiarity around when the boys were occupied.
I sighed, splashing my face with cold water before grabbing some toilet paper to wipe any mascara underneath my eyes to hide the fact that I was crying.
The door opens once again, this time catching my attention and I turn to see Luke running over to me.
"Tanna, Steve just- what's wrong baby?"
"Nothing's wrong." I could see the concern and doubt swirling through his eyes, knowing easily that I was anything but okay.
He pulls me into his chest, wrapping his arms around me as he rests his chin on top of my head.
"You know you can always tell me anything." His voice is soft as he whispers, kissing my head as he hold me tight against him.
"I know, I'm okay." I try to convince him one more time, but my voice has other plans and the way it wavers is a clear give away to him that I wasn't.
I breathe deeply, trying to calm myself down a little bit before speaking again.
"Go back to the Meet and greet."
"Are you insane, there is not a chance I'm leaving you." I reluctantly pull away from his arms, knowing that was the only way I would get him to go back to the fans that were waiting for him.
"Please Luke, we can talk at home. I promise."
"I love you, you know that right." I nod hesitantly, flashing him a small smile before nudging him out the room.
"Your fans are going to be very upset that I'm stealing you."
"If anything, they're the ones stealing me from you. I'm yours remember." He smirks, trying to lighten the mood.
"Patterson!" He holds his hands up in defense, his smile widening as he hears the light laugh escape from my lips.
"I'm going, I'm going.."
