Chapter Two: Purple and Black Mix
Shelly let out a heavy sigh as she picked up Slappy and held him. "Yes, Slappy," she finally admitted. "I am a Lubriem."
The puppet raised his eyebrows. "Why did you lie to us?" he asked her. "To me?" He started tearing up.
The young girl shook her head. "I never lied to you guys about that," she stated. "All that you asked of me were what my name was, why I knew you boys, and if you could come with me to the bookstore."
"She has a point there," Kai spoke up. "We never really asked her if she was a Lubriem."
"Yeah, but we never knew that there was such a thing as a Lubriem!" Slappy exclaimed. He hugged Shelly tightly. "Why did you keep it a secret from us then? Especially me?"
Shelly looked down. "I thought that if you knew the truth about me - that I was a Lubriem - I would be putting all three of you in danger."
"What do you mean?" Bill asked. Shelly tried holding back tears.
"Zorac wants me. Because I am the firstborn Lubriem."
"That is Lord Zorac!" one of the guards yelled at her. "Lord Zorac!"
"SILENCE!" Zorac commanded. The guards took a step back and shook in fear of their master. He looked at Shelly and smirked. "Go on, Shelly," he said soothingly. "Tell them the truth. The whole truth."
The young girl took a deep breath and let it out. "When I was first born, I was born a Lubriem. That is why I am the firstborn Lubriem," she explained. "I started watching fictional shows and movies and reading fictional books. Heck, I even started playing fictional video games. I immediately had a desire for fictional characters and wanted them to be real. However, my parents said that was not possible."
She took another deep breath and continued.
"When I was young, about eleven or twelve years old, I discovered something really powerful. Or, I should say that I thought of something really powerful. It was a liquid that was covered with purple and black swirls. I decided to test it out on the "Non-Fiends," who are my own fictional characters. The first person that I gave the liquid to was Lean Share, a blue ghost who is one of my very good friends. The liquid was a success. Lean became a powerful ghost. She could beat any fictional character that she wishes to beat. Like you, Bill."
The dorito frowned and crossed his arms.
"Everything was going great. Every "Non-Fiend" that I have ever thought of was getting the liquid that they needed, so they could survive. And then..." She looked up at Zorac. "...he came."
Slappy looked at Zorac, and then back at her. "Who? Zorac?"
Shelly nodded, and tears formed in her eyes. "I thought that he was good like all the others...so I gave him the liquid."
"Well, that explains why we got captured so easily," the yak said.
"Wait a second," the one-eyed triangle spoke. "If you gave that liquid to him, then that would mean..."
The young girl slowly nodded. "...I thought of him."
The monsters were in shock at what Shelly had just said to them.
Tears streamed down the puppet's cheeks. "W-what?"
"It is true," Shelly said. "I thought of Zorac. I thought of his minions. I thought of his daughter, Kaila."
"Daughter?!" Kai exclaimed. He looked at Kaila, who just looked away from him.
"I thought of this ship for him and his crew! I thought of it all!" She sniffed and tried wiping away her tears. "It is my fault that you guys got into this mess. Zorac and his actions are my responsibility." She looked back up at Zorac. "Which is why I am giving myself up."
The puppet shook his head. "No, Shelly."
Shelly walked up to the throne. "Take me," she begged Zorac. "All that you want is me. Just me. Take me, and let the boys go. I promise that I will not escape from you."
Zorac chuckled. "Very well then." He looked at his guards. "Take her to the lab."
The guards nodded and went over to Shelly as she set Slappy down.
"No!" Slappy yelled. "Shelly, do not do this! I know that you did not mean to create this mess! Kai, Bill, and I will find a way! Just do not give yourself up!"
The young girl ignored him, and the guards took her out of the throne room.
"Shelly!" The puppet looked up at Zorac, his eyebrows narrowed and his hands clenched into fists. "What do you want with her anyway?!"
"That is for me to know, and for you three to never find out," Zorac replied. "Guards!"
Four guards came into the room, holding space guns.
"Take them to their cell!" he ordered.
Slappy was about to attack Zorac, when one of the guards came up behind him and pointed his space gun at him.
"Slappy, let them just take us to our cell," Bill whispered to him. "For now."
Knowing that Bill was right, Slappy sighed and followed the guards out of the room.
